  1. Yep, this is why they are probably all drunk at the Asus repair shop.:drunk:
  2. Most of DCS is still running in those same 2 threads. All the unit AI / flight models / collision detection / line of sight calcs etc are done on one thread. Anything they have done a major rewrite are split off the main thread. The problem is that a lot of stuff remains in this main thread. These threads, however, may jump from one core to another core so you'll see multiple cores being used. Some object loading and stuff may be done in parallel over all the cores though. Don't be fooled, DCS is still mostly the way it has been.
  3. Why don't you turn off one or two cores on your 8700K?
  4. If you want info about Vulcan, there is a sub forum on that: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=217784
  5. I will go for a Focus Plus Gold. Gold certifier is enough for a single and dual video card system. This PSU is warranty for 10 years, so you have to figure what components you will have during that time. If you expect to go on SLI? Get something bigger. It's not a future proof question, the real question is how much are you addicted to DCS :D
  6. I have 3 screens 1920x1080. The landscape is horrible, the extra side part are useless and the cockpit is smaller. You have to zoom then you loose field of view. I use the portrait mode. You want to see the entire cockpit, not part of the cockpit and part of the wings.
  7. And I agree too  It's in the DCS 2.5 system requirements. https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/stable/

    Well played ED

Hello all. Can I reply a little, related to the thread.
  9. It's more like an IR pass-through filter.
  10. As long as the RAID 1 controller uses multiplexing, yes (writing can be faster) but many use the cheap controller (fake RAID ) on motherboard... Are you sure you need to RAID the SSDs to play adequately?
  11. Can you found a Seasonic Focus PSU?
  12. Can you overclock a "K" CPU with a B360?
  13. Congrats! It's ok :glare: but don't drink too much :D
  14. Get a tier 3 PSU if you are short of money. Look at the warranty, that will tell you how good he is. Maybe the Seasonic Focus (7 years) or Focus Plus (10 years) or SGX (10 years). https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3714338&postcount=52 https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3713321&postcount=51
  15. It's ok Bit (my friend). I can do the math without problem :smilewink: even if i'm done too. EVGA suggests a 500w with an i7 at only 3.2Mhz. Our CPU run faster (many guys overclock their CPU) and need more watts. We want to give (to the op) the opportunity/room to upgrade his video card later. With a 550w his hands will be tied. The gaming pc need a solid PSU, instead of a desktop pc who can use any crap PSU. Notably when you spend $$$$ for the components/video card. Tier (you can get a tier 3 if you are short of money): https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3713321&postcount=51 https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3714338&postcount=52
  16. Hello, the Corsair VS (gray unit) is a tier 5 and the Corsair VS (orange unit) is a tier 6. Not enough solid for a gaming pc. Probably good for a desktop pc. You need a tier 3 or better.
  17. An activation will be required if the hardware/software changes exceed 12 points as rated below: CPU ID: 13 Windows PID: 3 Computer Name: 3 Hard drive volume serial number: 3 MAC address: 6 RAM amount: 6
  18. A lower efficiency PSU will generate more heat, and degrade the components (capacitors) faster. Components are cheaper anyway. That's the reason of the 3-5 year warranty. A gaming PC (high current for 1-3 hours) need a solid PSU. Look at the warranty, that will tell you how good he is. A cheap PSU generates high ripple voltage can degrade the video card. and cause instability when overclocking. 3 years= cheap 5 years= average 7-10 years= good or very good
  19. Sorry for my misunderstanding. Your PSU, what is and how old is your power supply unit.
