  1. An excellent english cockpit conversion is made by member Devrim. Get it here! https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/668712/
  2. Hello Mr. Tako, I appreciatie your advice. I am pretty sure it is not my handling of the chopper. In all other missions and online events, I never manage to kill-off both my engines. I do know how to get out of a VRS but I rarely get into one. Last time I was flying this mission, I noticed lots of small arms fire striking the chopper's engines. It seemed to stop after the engines were broken. I will try this mission with your 'new' campaign today or tomorrow.
  3. Okay. Clearly dedication and hard work went into these skins. Thanks! :)
  4. So, what exactly is the defect?
  5. It does not work like that in this campaign. The author of the missions have built-in some triggers. If you fly within a certain radius of the target and at a certain altitude over the ground, the targets will explode magically. Distance and Altitude parameters are explained in the briefing. This is how the author simulates that onboard soldiers fire upon the target with a grenade-launcher (and destroying it) Awesome creative solution I think! :pilotfly:
  6. I had it with a track I made of an awesome kill in a MiG-15. First two or three times, it played back correctly. After restarting DCS (no updates!) playback was porked. Known issue.
  7. Nice green cockpit textures as well. :P
  8. Nice to see some skins for the -21!!! Thank you! On a sidenote, I see you added some hungarian texts (stencils) on the airplane. I think it will be better if you blend them in the background a bit. Now they are very very white and they appear too bright. If it is possible, try somewhere between 75 to 85% opacity on the stencils. Furthermore, they are lovely!
  9. I never even got to that part in mission 2. Always my engines die for some reason when trying to land at the little airfield where you are supposed to disembark the commandos who are supposed to blow up something. Oh well, we try the new version.
  10. can someone enlighten me? I don't see the defect?
  11. I'm sure you have more succes if you Emai Thrustmaster on this.
  12. Looks like an awesome stick!
  13. Nice vid, very informative and fun to watch! Can we get this mission anywhere?
  14. Also, when bullet-holes appear on, let's say the engine section, it doesn't mean that the engine is actually hit in DCS. There is a bug in the gunsight, you have to aim slightly forward of the MiG. The ammount of 'slightly' varies with distance to the target. Smoking AI MiGs can take a chance to leave the fight. They won't do that as long as you are behind them though. It is only very difficult to guess when this is going to actually happen. Anyways, I think the ammo load-out is sufficient to take out three or so MiG's. But it sure is a telling sign that after the Sabre, no more .50's where used on frontline fighters. I don't think the MiG-15 is really all that tough, I shot-off wings and other pieces before. But I think the .50's are just a little weak. (wich is surprising since WWII vets claim to have disabled Tiger Tanks with it, but that is another discussion. ;))
  15. Now. :) https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1411916/
  16. The Pipper is meant to move around in Gyro mode. It is used for aiming the gun in the AA mode. In all other modes, it is better to fix the pipper. A track, or better, a movie would provide useful when troubleshooting things like this.
  17. You can also try the dynamic campaign "Guarduans of the Caucassus". But this messes with your autoupdate.lua. So you must back-up that one first!
  18. Too bad he has the gauges in western units (knots/feet)
  19. **Seriously??** :D :D
  20. Yes. But if you start shooting at the hull of an aircraft from exactly 6 o'clock, this is not very effective. Because an aircraft from either 6 or 12 o'clock is a very small target. And lots of your bullets will miss because of dispersion and weaving about just a fraction of a tiny bit will cause your bullets to pass the target without touching it. It has been like that with other sims as well, not only DCS. Instead, try coming in from the side or better, from above or below so you can shoot its wing. It is very effective. I can see the value of a target flying straight and level to test your gunnery or other parameters, but shooting at it from a straight 6 position is not very effective at all. And yes, of course the MiG guns are far more effective. They are more powerfull. 23mm vs 12.7mm. In a one second burst, the MiG can shoot far more 'metal' to the target then the Sabre. Not counting for the explosive effect of its grenades wich the Sabre has not. But then again, a Sabre is far more manouvrable. You can test it out with a mission where you have a Sabre dogfighting a MiG. Try that one a few times. Then, you edit the mission and swap-out the Sabre for the MiG, keeping all other parameters the same. THen you'll notice how much better the Sabre really is. Anyways, got a vid to prove it that. First the track, it is flown in the 1.5.3 stable version. (not beta) I was a bit wasteful with ammunition. But then again, I only had one MiG as opponent. https://www.dropbox.com/s/uku8mlkdds884if/MiG-15%20shotdown.trk?dl=0 and a vid for easier viewing. This is basically the intercept quick mission where the AN-30 is replaced by a MiG-15 (average AI) Just to test out the gunsight and gun effectivness.
  21. YES, the Warthog stick is good. But it is twice as expensive as SAITEK controllers wich are also good. I can't vouch for the X55, I hear mixed quality issues with it. I would go for the X52pro if you don't want to open-up your wallet too much but still want to get into simming a bit more serious. It is a great stick, I used it for years without problems. Your vid-card might need upgrading a bit. Even a 200 or 300$ upgrade will let you fly this sim in HD quality wich is good. I am not sure how you want to use the second monitor. But if you want to have an ultra wide display, placing those monitors side by side, you definetly need a new vid-card. And you have a 'bar' in the middle where the two monitors touch wich is very annoying in a COMBAT flightsim since that is usually the place where the gunsight is. Making aiming weapons very difficult. Anyways, a single 27" monitor on HD quality is good.
  22. What's a KM? Also, the Xbox controller is not an optimal device for use with flight simulators.
  23. And you got a nice stick for a nice price. Great job on the fix! :)
  24. Well, just my two cents... Irianians tried to hang just about anything with a rocketmotor on their F14's. Including an HAWK missile wich is supposed to be a SAM. This does not mean it actually works like a normal AA missile. This might have been for publicity reasons only. They do more stuff like that. Like a few years ago, they pretended to develop a stealthfighter of their own. Appearantly Iranian pilots are bored very quickly, they even included some kind of car stereo in it. And it is not supposed to fly faster then about 260knots acording the speedometer. Anyways, the PR guys in the Iranian defence forces sometimes make things up that cannot be really the truth. As with the AA-10, I can not imagine it would actually be usable. I mean, any nutcase (pun intended) with a wrench can bolt it on, but will they be able to lock the target with an american radar and guide a russian missile to it? Or maybe they've put in some kind of american seeker-head on the AA10 missile. I don't think this AA-10 is really usable on the F-14 in real-life.
  25. Something simple? Yeah... That's how it starts out... :music_whistling::thumbup:
