Thanks again Rudel for releasing the template. :)

I didn't know that. I never had any sort of photoshop product on my new computer. Yet somehow, I got CS2 to work. I assumed it was free.

New Thrustmaster gear coming soon
1.JaVA_Platypus replied to gillers's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Nooo, i think it will be a new B737 style steering wheel. The FSX P3D, X-plane crowd is much larger! :P -
It is true that damage model is not nearly the same level as the old Il-2 for instance. This goes for the Sabre as well. It might be a problem with DCS itself, not only with one or two modules. I always think that the game generates a few effects to simulate some damage where there is actually none. Maybe? Who can tell? Makes me a bit worried about the whole WWII add-ons wich are planned.

Changing the Pitch trim rate for L-39
1.JaVA_Platypus replied to Andre92's topic in DCS: L-39 Albatros
I take it you mean "sensitive" and not "sensible"? ;) No biggie... I don't think it can change. Other airplanes have trim on a button as well. It is just that you always seem to need the trim setting in between two button presses. I guess it is up to us to find the best throttle setting for the given weight and trimsetting (and weatherconditions) of the L-39. Having trim on a slider would be better of course, like in WWII aircraft. But this is not realistic for the L-39! -

Great solution. Only, what kind of thrust control do you have? -
I use Barthek's ground-texture mod. They are very good textures! You can get them here!!! Currently, you need to install version 4 first and version 5 on top of that. All will be explained here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=132444

There is something in the wings that will make them come-off easily. Also, try to lead the MiG with your pipper a bit. And let him fly as slowly as possible through your stream of bullets.

Recorded in 1.5.3 I was a bit wastefull with the ammo, but I wanted to make a demonstration video to show that it is not hard to dogfight with the Sabre. This is the standard intercerpt mission with a MiG-15 instead of the AN-30. I think the Sabre has ammo enough for three or so MiG-15's if you really want. But after the F-86 Sabre, the .50 machine gun was never used as armament on frontline fighters ever again. That should say something. Even tough it reportidly killed NAZI tiger tanks in WWII :music_whistling:

Yeah...but I think that when they go into storage, the lock a few things so they won't open up so things like birds can not nestle in it... -

Might be worth making a sticky (and maybe remove the old sticky threads) Just to bundle all the information about this long awaited template!!! :) -

These work as well. Sight intensity and "Limp" now assignable as axis. {action = 3001, cockpit_device_id = 47, name = "PKV Intensity"}, {action = 3003, cockpit_device_id = 47, name = "PKV Elevation"},

1.JaVA_Platypus replied to SFC Tako's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
This time I got on the ground in one piece. Except the guys with the AK's started shooting my commandos! Luckily not me. When take-ing off, I overflew one group of them and they shot one of my engines. But well, I think I need to take a different route to exit. Maybe even point my chopper toward the coastline when the commandoes are busy playing around. Oh well... In real life, we don't get to do do-overs like that! I think the missions are very well designed. -
Or just aim the pipper slightly in front of the target.

A vid would be most welcome since I can't really imagine what the 'flicker' is....

A few Newbie questions
1.JaVA_Platypus replied to 1.JaVA_Platypus's topic in DCS: Bf 109 K-4 Kurfürst
Yeah... you can raise and lower the seat. I did that. But I just thought it was a bit curious. It is not the most accesable aircraft in DCS but very rewarding when you can master it. Altough it is almost complete, it is none the less a bit anoying with all those little bugs. And about the replays, I haven't had one succesfull replay yet. Time compression or not -
I think the mirrors are really handy if you want to ensure that your backwheels are also over any tight spot you wish to land upon. I am more excited about the removeable gunsight. And I am also excited that they are still refining this Heli. Mi-8 is my favorite in DCS, a shared place with the MiG-21.

Well, I just got the 109 for the Easter sale. It is a mighty satisfying airplane to do the basic stuff in. Takeing off and landing is a small miracle in themselves when you can do that in one piece! I spent my time crashing and burning a lot. :music_whistling: Helicopters are easier to fly in that area! Plenty of ammo and real destructive guns. Even the MG131 will rip a Mustang apart with two or three hits. A bit overpowered I think, but not a problem as long as I am not on the receiving end. :megalol: Anyways, got a few questions, not sure if some of these are bugs or not. 1. When doing the quick mission "Take-off", the plane start with the throttle in the full-forward position, no matter what. (Warthog throttle fully open, or fully closed, HOTAS controls synchronized at the start of the mission in the options menu) Making this mission an instant failure. 2. Tracks NEVER playback correctly. I know sometimes DCS does this with other aircraft too, but even tough I managed a decent take-off, in the replay I always crash and burn. 3. I always start the mission with the pilot's view deep in the cockpit, almost as if I don't have a big parachute to sit on. Even tough I selected "gunsight view" in the options menu. These things happen to the BF-109 only. It seems to me these are bugs. Are they known? Can I edit some LUA files to remedy these bugs?

400? With a bit of googling, you can get a Warthog for 300 euros!

I made these textures because the stock textures from Belsimtek are not up to the standard of the rest of the cockpit. They look like a place-holder, something for an early BETA module. I have lots and lots of fun with the Mi-8 and I often stare at the PKV for quite a lot of time. "Why won't someone make better textures for this", I found myself wondering. Further: "Why won't I make them myself"? And that is what I did. Please consult the included README for details and install instructions. Depending on language settings, stuff might get overwritten. Get it here: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/files/1825692/ Enjoy!
