New Thrustmaster gear coming soon
1.JaVA_Platypus replied to gillers's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
There are multiple airplanes in the pic. I don't think Thrustmaster is going to make flight controllers for all of them. But there's only one set of rudder pedals. ;) And I never did get how people saw an F-18 in there, it is more like an F-15, yes? -
Anyone noticed this too? After I quit one of these missions and go back to the menu, the menu music does not play? I've got lots of custom menu music for my modules and I really like listening to them. Ingame sound is okay. Restarting DCS solves the issue. Not a very important bug, but it is a bit weird.

Multicrew on the F-14 (and other modules) is terribly interesting to debate. But... Back on topic... ;) I found something missing from the Mi-8 cockpit with the latest 2.0 update. Please put it back!! Only joking. ;) Thanks for the continuing love and support for this awesome heli! :)

I was too quick in trying this campaign. DCS didn't update yet when I bought the campaign. It is working now. Can be closed... :D

I just bought the High-stakes campaign. However, When I go into the module manager, it says that the module can not be installed since it is unknown. Autoupdate.log has been attached. autoupdate_log.txt

IIRC, the Mustang's guns are harmonized at 1000ft distance, so setting the range dial to "10" should do the job. Convergence can not be change in DCS like in Il-2.

Mig 21 campaign went south...
1.JaVA_Platypus replied to BigBadVuk's topic in Missions and Campaigns
2.0 and 1.5 should merge sometime in the future. Your best bet to use the campaign is to use DCS repair to revert to a previous DCS version where the MiG-21 is working. Also, there are a few mods available with better textures for the Caucassus map. (Including desert textures) However, Nevada missions won't ever work in the Caucassus map, whatever textures you use. -
With some basic photoshop knowledge, you can! :)

Heli's with TM Hotas X?

You don't need expensive sh!t to fly effectivly. There are even one or two guys out there, flying the HUEY with a gamepad! However, the cheaper joysticks tend to break sooner, or show other defects. But then again, you can buy another one more easily because of the price. And there are plenty of guys who can't fly, even if they have the Thrustmaster Warthog or the rediculously priced Komodo controllers. However, I should advice you to get some kind of head-tracking device. Maybe a second hand Track-IR. It helps with immersion and better situational awareness. And IF you decide to buy a Thrustmaster Warthog, please do a price comparison check. Some sites want you to pay more then 50% more then others. I got mine for 300 Euros. (Around 350 dollars I guess) That is about as cheap as you can get for a new stick and throttle. -
Also, I find the gunsight Gyro mode rather useless in a quick dogfight. You are probably better off with the fixed reticle. Just remember, at max 600 meters, the 23mm guns shoot pretty much straight ahead. The 37mm should not be fired since it has a very pronounced balistical curve. Only use this one when you are close for better hit probability.

Spring Tension Campaign... Mission one?
1.JaVA_Platypus replied to denzilangoff's topic in DCS: Mi-8MTV2 Magnificent Eight
Or you can use the Kneepad... I think there was a printable map somewhere where you can draw in the waypoints of a particular mission and use the Navigation system to fly the route. -
New Thrustmaster gear coming soon

I was thinking, they allready got a ForceFeedback steering wheel for racesims... Applying this to a kick@ss stick would be a logical step! -
Cool :)

Afterburner works. Are the appropriate switches in the "up" position? There are supposed to be two of those. One is normal afterburner sits somewhere near the APU/start device switch and the emergency afterburner switch is next to the aileron booster switch.

My Saitek Combat rudder pedal's toe brake is dead
1.JaVA_Platypus replied to SCU's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Check wiring first. Maybe you can clean the pots. (Look for tutorials on youtube) If this doesn't work, replace them. Some minor soldering skills may be required. -
Repeat the same, only now the ground target is the F-86.
-
Another question: What is the engagement envelope for the HOT missile? Max distance is 4300m. But, min. Distance, airspeed, altitude above ground?
-
It can be something to 'lure' the FSX/X-plane crowd over. More DCS customers means more money for ED (or polychop) this means more beautiful modules for everyone! :)
-
All we need is a little Magic from RUDEL, and you can release it. Right? :)
-
Yeah... but sometimes I want to fly the Mustang, or the F86 or... well, I don't want to swap pedals everytime. Even If I had the space. So I modified my thrustmaster rudder control system to have toe-brakes, better spring system and no center detent. The springs make them squeek a bit, but I am sure that real aircraft pedals are not completly silent as well.
-
Yessss... and also very expensive and not so good if you want to have the option for toe brakes as well.
