  1. Check this video from Froogle. You are looking for axis mapping around 11 minute. As far as I know you cannot add modifier in X-55 software. At least I did not find a way how to do it. [ame] [/ame]
  2. I think you still not get it. 1. Action: Slider moves forward. Reaction: Key kombination Lctrl+g is presses and released. Ingame reaction: Gear goes up 2. Action: Slider moves back. Reaction: Key kombination Shift+g is pressed and released. Ingame reaction: Gear goes down. So in whatever position the slider is it will always do the action I expect from it regardles of the ingame spawn. You can map this via the advanced command in the saitek software.
  3. No, you can map it to do one action when it goes up and one when it goes down. I do not have to press it twice to do one thing. For example regarding the gears I would have mapped it to retract them when the slider moves forward and release them when it moves back. It can be done, but you have to use the advanced command and map different keys for press and release.
  4. I have owned Logitech 3D pro, then Saitek X-52Pro, then X-55 and now Warthog. The quality of the WH hotas surpases them by a lot. It's just different league completely. For DCS at least. I would have saved a lot of money if I would go for WH several years ago already and did not bother with anything else. If DCS is your game then go for it. If you are playing other games like space sims too, then you may find hard to map the WH for them. Although the Target software has default map profiles for the most famous recent games. I have yet to find a reason why would I want to go back to anything else at the moment, but remember one thing, you need to have pedals or simulate them by key presses. WH lacks twist. The only thing that X-55 did better was the number of axis that could be mapped but WH makes up to that with the quality of the those that are on it. For example the "mouse" pad on X-55 is unusable for anything else than bands detection and key presses. You cannot use it as an slew axix due to the awfull sensitivity. WH is the complete oposite, every axis on it is very precise and usable as intended and the "mouse" pad is by default mapped to slew function in A-10C and it works... I was never able to map zoom on Saitek joystics to an axix due to the low sensitivity, it would jump all around even when not touched. Im able to do so on WH. And mainly the ergonomy of the stick is the best of all I had so far. My hand and fingers hurted when I was using X-55 but they are not now with WH.
  5. It's not that useless. I was using it for Air brakes, just had to map it with advanced command to make it working... similar way how you did it. This way it can be mapped for anything that has two stages... for example gears, radar on/off etc.
  6. You can test the trigger in the Saitek software. Map the spacebar to it and then in the test window hold the trigger pressed for some time. Saitek software shows different color when the key is pressed and when it is released. You can test this way if the trigger releases the key randomly due to sensor issue. Also note that if you have X-52pro then the trigger is two stage and you should map same key for both stages to avoid problems when you press it too much for example.
  7. You may have one of following problems: 1. You have an old software and drivers on Windows 10. 2. You mapped the trigger incorrectly. You can map it as a special command where you will have press and release actions separately. 3. You are using Teamspeak with detection of any device button press. You have to set the detection to Keyboard and Mouse only. I have run in all of these issues eventually when I owned X-52 and then X-55. I can help you more if your will narrow the source of the issue a bit.
  8. I do not have experience with invalid SN but I know that you should not be installing the modules from the standalone installers. If you do not see your modules in the module manager then they are probably not bound to your account. Go to your profile on DCS website and enter the SN key to the search box at the bottom left. You should see the SN key information afterward and also a small box with a button to Bind the key. Bind the key to your profile if it is not done yet. You should see the module in your module manager afterwards.
  9. Yes it is possible. I have done it once already.
  10. I did not mean that I will update the FW but was just wondering if the hotas will work on windows 10 and usb 3 out of the box.
  11. Well... its the steam sale so I suspect that we will have news about that. :D [ame] [/ame]
  12. What are the reasons to flash the firmware? Better HW compatibility? I'm going to buy a new set next week so I would like to know if it will work ok for me on windows 10 and usb 3.
  13. I was in the same spot as you and after few patches I realized that I will need a profile in the Saitek profiler or else I will go mad. Profiles can be shared also so you can check the download section on the dcs website for profiles. I have made my own profiles eventually to suit my own play style. The best how it worked for me was doing it on fly. For example I have mapped the bare minimum (axis, triggers, etc.) and started flying and then eventually as the missions went on, paused the game and mapped the things I needed at that moment.
  14. The pauses in tutorial (if it does not freeze the whole game for you) are caused by scripts which are waiting for an input from you. The training voice will always tell you what is needed from you to proceed. So the question is, is the stall you are describing just a pause in a game or does the game crash on you?
  15. I'm quite confident that you will be able to turn off such effects if you would have problems. Still they will release it as beta first so no worries for stable ...
  16. Thank you for the benchmark. I reassured myself that it will be better to wait for 1080ti or Vega from AMD.
  17. Glad I could help. It took me several days to find out why is my X-52 sometimes working and sometimes not as intended. I also made a special profile in saitek profiler with press and unpress special commands for each key to get around the problem. Eventually I found out that the source problem is Teamspeak. Finding a solution to this on google is not as easy as it could seem.
  18. For 2.5 im hoping for the extended ATC which they are working on for Nevada too.
  19. A-7 was postponed until ED finishes they ground radar technology ... :( Harrier should be the next module.
  20. What do you mean by X52? Saitek joystick? Any team speak can work with it. Just map a button to a key and then in team speak change the input to keyboard and mouse only with push to talk enabled key. http://imgur.com/typBt3y Edit: It will work even without push to talk, you just have to change the settings which I have marked on screenshot.
  21. No you dont but there might be some servers which will have only some specific modules like WW2 server only etc.
  22. Is the calibration and button test working in the control panel/device list menu?
  23. After using both I'm able to say following: Saitek feels cheap, the quality of hats and buttons is bad, they work, but you will be afraid that they will break any minute. They will hold of course but they just feel like that. The good thing about the hotas is the throttle, the precision and number of buttons, axis and hats is great. The bad thing is the stick, it's just too bad ergonomically. Your hand and fingers will hurt after a long flight. It is precise though and you have plenty ways of tuning in the software. X-52 has better stick ergonomy and hat quality than X-55/56 TM WH ... completely another level of quality. Buttons and hats actually feel good. Ergonomically its superior to X-55/56, long flights will not hurt your hands. But it may be harder to use in other games than DCS. Throttle has less buttons and axis but on the other hand has detent for iddle. I felt bad for spending money on X-55/56 and using if for few weeks, but I did not when I bought WH. It's just another level of quality.
  24. Would love to, but you are not from EU, are you? :)
  25. The hardrive sounds crazy because it's swapping all the time due to not enough memory. Upgrade RAM first. SSD will only make loading times faster and remove possible stutters but will not help with freezing. Although SSD will make your overall "windows" experience a lot better, RAM will help you with DCS more.
