*getting ready to resurrect trololo guy for rage's next comment* (and also, rip thread)

The AI uses tactics. Remember the many times it just began RTB'ing randomly? Well he was bringing you in his SAM coverage!! Seriously though, ACM (which is what you seem to be on about) is something that I think should be practices against real pilots, as AIs are far from impredictable unlike pilots, which makes it kind of a moot point IMHO.

For FC3 - add a 'next mode' assignment
Ktulu2 replied to Johnny Dioxin's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Master modes (at least combat ones) are something you'll definitively want on your hotas so that you can access them without leaving your controls, not quite sure why you aren't putting your VR stuff on your boxes instead, seems much more logical to me. -
Pepin, as said in many threads, the F-15 was designed with an OPERATIONAL limit of 9G (so much more for longevity&accidents) unlike the -27 that was meant to pull 9G only in clean configs. Just go look at combat logs for F-15s and you'll see it is normal... As for 3-Bags climbout, it's not because the pilot has a highly unefficient loadout and not cost effective one that he shouldn't be able to reach only 50 000', which is 10 000 feets BELOW the SERVICE ceilign. On top, he is about to stall so he just went from mach 1 to near-vertical from take off. If 2-bags F-15 can fly stable at 60 000' (up to 100K' clean peak), I don't see why 3-baggers couldn't reach similar altitudes as two bags, especially for like 30 seconds before stalling...^... Now back on topic hehe The PFM of the eagle becomes VERY apparent at high AoA (20+) below 150 knots, or anywhere near stalls in general, where you really ''feel'' the stall. If you wanna test the pfm, go CAS and YAW controls off and enjoy the flanker feeling, these are the systems that give the eagle its semi-FBW.

We can't have anything else than Dos Gringos-worthy tankers or drunk ATCs, I'd doubt something as complex as an airdrop is in the pipeline.

Aim 9p fire on their own causing friendly fire
Ktulu2 replied to leadlag's topic in Bugs and Problems
If you are flying russian planes pickle won't do much. What you could do is look at a device analyser (windows, targets, dcs etc.) just to see if the pickle comes on randomly. If not, you may have a double mapping of pickle/a conflict, or if you are using target, if you have any command using space and right alt (this is the command to fire missiles). Otherwise, the only thing I see is that if you jettinson weapons while missiles are selected, it will shoot missiles. -
Aim 9p fire on their own causing friendly fire
Ktulu2 replied to leadlag's topic in Bugs and Problems
Weird issue...What kind of joystick do you have? Is it a 30 years old thing that has shorts all over it? I never had this problem. -
Well BMS solved the problem so there certainly are ways around other than 50000000$ screens

The shift pattern will vary depending on how far from you the plane will pass. i.e. If the plane goes really close to you and you only consider this in one dimension, you will hear the maximum high frequency, than all the shifting in VERY quick, than the lower frequency right away. Now if the distance at which the plane goes from you is not negligible, you will hear the maximum frequency far, followed by an arctan transition phase while the plane is passing you that will last in proportionally longer to the distance at which the plane is passing from you, than another arctan transition to the minimum frequency far away. Could this be the modulation you are hearing?

I made a manual on BVR, so that should help you with missile evasion : http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=162423 Missile defence isn't something you can cover in a few lines.

Also, when you end up putting smart scalling on, it destroys all sense of range/distance, as zooming in makes sprites smaller...
-
+1, many pilots affirmed they had tally near 10NM, so keeping sight under 1NM should not be an issue

Who knows...Maybe someone was lighting a cigar? lol ok that's a bug

Well. if the target is on AB, this seems possible, as the P5 is supposed to have the M seeker in the P's body.

Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 8

Shoot at a chopper with missiles...You musn't have done much cap to suggest such a thing. -
Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 8

That would render IFF for 50's planes extremely hard -
Here you go. I changed the aircraft description, added su-33 and slightly modified ranges to fit what we see in DCS a bit more. I did not touch SAMs, as I don't know them too well, in DCS go defensive when they shoot first and you'll be fine. Also added Russian names for missiles. Threath list (1).pdf

I might do so instead of playing guitar, got some time today. Also, you have to consider versions of missiles i.e. AIM-120C-5 has a wikipedia range of 105km, but the -8 is said to have 160km and the -7 with it's 145km (that entered about at the same time as the 77-1, so the later never had an upper hand), but in any case, these are R-max figures and are 200% meaningless in combat :).

For anyone using the BMS guide, keep in mind that AAM ranges are different in DCS, that plane armament is different (ie the su27 doesn't have R77 and the mig-29 does.). Also, R-77 outranging the AIM-120!? lol not sure what period the guide represents but...
-
Well, I disagree that FC3 is a reference. The planes are rigged with so many problems (due to simplification) that is truly gets frustrating at times. While I agree its a good start, to this I reply that any DCS-level module can be played in game mode. Also, the margin of error between 100% fidelity and the 5% accurate FC3 is pretty big too.
-
Weird, can you post specs, just in case you are running a 1990's cpu.
-
My problem is that you say nothing about the quality of the approximation, and the way you talk about the F-35, it seems to me you are talking about guesses instead of approximation, which is VERY different! With an approximation, you can give a maximum and minimal value for something (i.e. the thrust of a plane). With a guess, which would be what the F-35 would have been for many things, there's no way to prove whether you are right or wrong and by what error margin.

Not sure I understood the right thing, but what I got is that you say that red handle should only be lit when the gear is switching state? Or only when ready to land? I know in many nato planes, below a certain speed (around 200 knots) the handle blinks red even though gear is up, so that the pilot doesn't forget it for landing. (and so that he doesn't do like that M2K pilot...LOL)
