Exactly. Plus, the cockpit of the ZO is more ZA-like. The whole structure of the ZO is more ZA-like (weight, fuselage reinforcements, etc). The ZO is practically a ZA with the guns removed.

Yeah but there's no NVA skin for the ZA (correct me if I'm wrong) which is much more similar to the ZO then the C. And there's also no V skin for the C.

May be OT, but the NVA didn't fly the L-39C anyway :music_whistling::smilewink:

Actually, only the training missile R-3U was being used for training. This missile recorded all data like target distance, g-forces, speed etc. and could be analyzed after the flight. The conditions for shooting the real R-3S could never be achieved: The minimum speed for shooting this missile was Mach 0.8. This speed could only be obtained in a dive. At this speed though, the speed brakes would extend. At the same time, the pilot would have to keep the target for 3 seconds within the missile head's 3° detection angle in a range between 1200 and 4000 meters without exceeding 2 g. That conditions were practically impossible to achieve, so in 1983 the missile training was completely removed from the training plan and the radio rangefinders were decomissioned. The conversion to the R-60 missile was being discussed, but not realized. -> Taken from the book "Strahltrainer L-39 Albatros" by PPV which was written by a former GDR flight instructor :book: Edit: I don't know where this "Minimum R-3S speed - Mach 0.8" comes from, but I will keep researching :)

Hi guys, a few questions that came to my mind lately: 1. At this picture (and many others) you can see the range scale for the radio range finder, on the right hand side of the gunsight. East German pilots keep telling that there was only a small time frame for shooting the R-3S missile, because the minimum speed for shooting the R-3S was just a little bit below the maximum aircraft speed (where the airbrake is being engaged automatically). Doesn't seem to be the case in "our" L-39's. Any thoughts about this?

Also ich hör mir vom ATC an, auf welches Bahnende ich aufrollen soll, dann guck ich auf meinen Kompass und stelle mir vor, von wo nach wo die Bahn verläuft. Dann weiß ich auch, wo "mein" Bahnende sein müsste, und dann fang ich an, grob in diese Richtung zu rollen. Irgendwann seh ich dann schon die Bahn ;)

Von einem Entwickler, der seit (gefühlt) Jahren nichts mehr an seinem bereits releasten Modul macht, weil er anscheinend "das Heu rein hat", erwarte ich schon lange nix mehr. Dann hau ich das Geld für eine unbewaffnete Maschine doch lieber für die Jak-52 raus - da weiß ich, dass die Qualität stimmt.

Hey guys, don't know what I'm doing wrong, but everytime I want to shoot a missile the yellow AOA warning light is permanently on, even if I'm flying straight and level and my speed is above 400 km/h. Shooting the missile and everything else works correctly, but that damn light will keep lit all the time. Any ideas? Thanks :thumbup:

34 now. My first simulator was LHX Attack Chopper in 1990 on a i386 ;)

Solche "Freaks", die möglichst alles möglichst real abbilden wollen, gibt es bestimmt nicht wenige. Früher spielte sich die Flugausbildung im Osten tatsächlich so ab, dass man vom Segelflugzeug über die Jak-11/-18 (Vorgänger der 52), weiter über die L-29/-39 zur MiG-21 kam. Ich könnte mir gut vorstellen, dass einige Enthusiasten das zuhause nachstellen wollen. Allerdings würde das auch voraussetzen, dass eine MiG-21 auch so funktioniert wie im echten Leben, und da haperts ja bei DCS schon :music_whistling:

Gabs denn in der 'Bis' seitliche Spiegel? Die einzigen Spiegel hab ich bis jetzt in der MiG-21PFM gesehen.

Ich fliege auch auf 21:9, allerdings 27''. Während die Breite super ist, fällt schnell die obere und untere "Begrenzung" auf. Von daher würde ich da auf jeden Fall mehr Zoll empfehlen! Wenn du es noch eine Weile mit deinem alten Monitor aushältst, würde ich aber noch 1-2 Jahre warten und schauen, was im VR-Bereich passiert, und dann später dort investieren. (Edit: Wie du eine Minute vorher schon selbst geschrieben hast ;))

Heutzutage? Ich denke eher, dass sich das (v.a. im Vergleich zu den 90ern) noch im moderaten Rahmen bewegt. Ich weiß noch, wie ich Ende der 90er meinen Vater anbettelte, mir unbedingt diesen Pentium-II mit 266 MHz zu kaufen, und gefühlte 3 Wochen später gab es für den gleichen Preis einen mit 450 MHz und doppelt soviel RAM, von den wahnsinnig geilen "3D-Beschleunigerkarten" mal ganz abgesehen :megalol: Ich denke, da sind wir heutzutage besser dran, oder?

Dann spar ihn dir, denn das ist der schlechteste Fliegerfilm, den ich je gesehen hab. Ausstattung, Realismus, Flugphysik, CGI - alles unterste Schublade. Hab ihn direkt wieder verkauft. :lol:
