I agree with GregP. My eyes slightly more than 24” away from screen. I went from 55” straight to 65” curved. The curve dramatically enhances the gain from the wider screen. I’m not sure at what viewing distance the curve advantage is lost.

I’ll repost it as a 7-zip when I get back to the sim shortly. UPDATE: Post #50 updated to include a WinZip version. Try that. -
Screen size for 1:1 cockpit representation
Chic replied to plehmann's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Well said Sn8ke iis. ‘You can also permanently store an FOV by pressing RAlt + Numpad Enter once you have the desired zoom amount” (Mustang). I experimented with this to achieve a 1:1 scale with my setup. My eyes are typically slight more than 24 inches from screen. 85% scale was as close as I came before giving up on it. For reasons that Sn8ke touched on, I found this was the limit to what I felt “flyable” with my choppers. For what it’s worth, I own an Oculus but prefer my single 65” with 27” accessory screen much more enjoyable. JUST my opinion/preference. Don’t wanna start a 4K vs VR thread. -

I had a similar program. The culprit was an “increase visibility “ mod left over from the 1.5 days that I was needlessly running. Just a thought. -
requested Knobs very sensitive when controlled by joystick buttons
Chic replied to lmp's topic in Bugs and Problems
UPDATE For those that maybe still running my Gps Knob Desensitization Mod (post #13). I'm not sure how long this has been the case but it appears the DCS has fixed the issue internally. No need to run mod any more. -

In-Game Scratchpad Mod Available - Works Great In VR!
Chic replied to Fubarbrickdust's topic in Virtual Reality
Fredclan, the problem my VA profile has in VR is refocusing on the ScratchPad in such way that it can be edited (resume typing at appropriate spot, deleting etc...). Using Windows ScratchPad as you mentioned might be the answer if it can be edited, without the cursor, using key bindings. I’ll check it out later today. Thanks. -
In-Game Scratchpad Mod Available - Works Great In VR!

I put together a beefed up VoiceAttack program that allows you to dictate hands free to ScratchPad. You can also opt to hear an audio playback of your dictation if you want to bypass ScratchPad. The playback will loop10 times or until you Say ENOUGH. It bypasses Windows Clipboard and handles all the text editing and window focus issues as well. Currently, the ScratchPad component is working in 2D but I'm not sure how its workin in VR. I'm not in VR any longer so I can't troubleshoot. Feel free to work on it and share. Please report bugs. THANK YOU n26 for ScratchPad. Update: The profile now working in VR. Profile version & ReadMe updated. I have no experience with Steam but if both installs keep "Saved Games" you should be ok to Copy and Paste your config / input files.

Don't forget to consider the effects of Anti-icing and PSS on rotor droop. -
Don't forget to select the cockpit type under options.

As a matter of fact I WAS suggesting just that. I deleted because I started to think I misinterpreted your issue. My pedals do not self center, so I prefer no rudder trim.

Huey and landing! Where are those experts pilot with quick landing :)
Chic replied to Frag's topic in DCS: UH-1H
I've got a question regarding using the tail rotor to "help you slow down". Before I ask it, I'll mention that to rapidly decelerate prior to touching down, I turn the airframe sideways then aggressively cyclic roll away from the landing target. This allows me to Nose Up (flare aggressively) without tail striking ground. Having said this, I must say that I don't use such methods whilst involved in mission/multiplayer flyin cuz I am more interested in realistic use of the sim as opposed to arcading. ABSOLUTELY NO KNOCK ON ARCADERS. OK, back to the question. Is the tail rotor slowing the airframe down by bleeding available power from the main rotor as opposed to applying its thrust vector to do so? If the later is true, then one would want to turn rightward relative to the target as opposed to leftward as in Backspaces vid. -

Make yourself a small mission and place 2 client aircraft at the desired altitude, speed, and heading relative to the carrier. After you nail the trap, just hit Escape, select the other aircraft, and do it again, and again, etc...

The new install will copy common files from the existing install instead of downloading all of them. You will, however, have 2 separate installs.
