I did my test according what the OP said. When starting the mission the FPS does not really drop but start fluctuating more which makes it hard to say what it exactly is. I´m playing with 7680 x 1440 and do not reach that much there. River Run: 57 FPS (98%, Start Screen) SU-25T: 54 FPS (98%, Start Screen) NVidia Driver: 442.19 Setting as attached.

It´ll be great if you do the test at Cy-27´s Thread as well. You have the GPU I have and an even faster GPU than the 6600K and 4790K.
-
If you follow the thread I linked I simply compared the 6600K@4,3 GTX1080TI combo with mine 4790K@4,4 GTX1080Ti combo. Same settings (I guess) and same missions. That´s why I´m coming to 40%.

You may have a look over here https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=266365&page=5. With the same settings and the same missions (see page 1 of the thread) people are comparing the FPS they achieve. I have the same CPU you have and a slightly slower GPU. I figured out that someone with the same GPU I have and a faster CPU (6600K), and respectively DDR-4 RAM, reaches appr. 40% higher FPS compared to mine. So I guess by upgrading to a faster CPU and the mentioned 32 GB of DDR-4 RAM you should be more than fine. I hope this helps. Xoxen

I´m totally with you. This would help to judge the own system in a much better way and also helps to find bottlenecks more easy. Two thumbs up from my end. Xoxen

GPU performance test in DCS2.5.6 for the forum
xoxen replied to Cy-27's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
This is very interesting for me as I was always wondering if a CPU upgrade would be benefitional for me. We have the same GPU but you have a newer CPU and DDR-4. I actually have: River Run: 82 FPS@98% SU-25T: 83 FPS@98% If I put 1 and 1 together this should end up in around 40% more FPS. Maybe even more if I go for an up to date CPU. Interesting. My government at home needs to be convinced first ;) Thanks, Xoxen -
sync lock bettween 30fps and 60fps
xoxen replied to Cy-27's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi Cy-27, have you tried turn of vsync in the DCS settings page, then you have a smooth transition between 30 and 60 fps, e. g. you can reach 43 fps and they stay in that range. I bet your stuttering is getting better without vsync turned off. I hope this helps. Xoxen -
@David Oc Thanks for the links. Clicking on the first 2 ones showed me that I saw them already and followed them some time ago. I played around a lot with FOV and now found a good compromise between overview (beeing not too close to the HUD) and fisheye, which automatically is getting worse when you raise it. I will watch the videos again and see, if I can improve the fisheye effect. @The_Nephilim The aspect ratio is set automatically once you insert the resolution manually and hit enter. I will double check this. @JG14_Smil Thanks for the input. I also thought about having a large 4K TV instead of the 3 27". @derneuemann This is not the question. The question I had was if the fisheye effect reduces the amount of pixels which need to be calculated as in fact the screen is getting stretched on the outside instead of showing every pixel like in the center. I also played around with a 3 monitor config but his is nothing for me. The way the outer monitors are moving is weird for me. Actually my FOV is 140 and I use the slider at the Warthog Throttle to zoom in if necessary. Thanks for your input.

Hi folks, I just wonder what resolution I have in comparison to a 4K one. 4K is 3840x2160 = 8.294.400 Pixels. So far so good. I have 3 27"-displays with 2560x1440 each. So I´m running 2560x3x1440 = 11.059.200 pixel. How is this compared to 4K? I´m asking this because I have a bad fisheye effect on the outsideof the left and right display. So I wonder if this is really calculated like on a real 4k displays where I asume I do not have this fisheye effect. A friend brought me to this and he said mine is by far lower than 4K. I doubt this, but am not sure about it myself. I hope you got my point and can enlight me. Thanks. Take care, Xoxen

Possible PC Performance Issue with DCS
xoxen replied to TheStrikeEagle's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Try deleting metashader2 and fxo folder. I had an issue some time ago tweaking the settings and ran into trouble. Deleting the folders helped. You can find them in the saved games folder on C. -
You have turned on vsync. So your FPS are capped to the Hz your monitor does. If it cannot reach it, it drops to the half of it. I guess your monitor has 85 or 90 Hz. With the update your PC wasn´t able to reach this anymore, so the next step down is 45 FPS. Turn of vsync to see what you have without.

Hi T-Stoff, in my opinion it is worth to check every option carefully. Some threads below you find a guide to compare FPS in a given mission. My CPU isn´t far away from yours, so you could see what a GTX 1080Ti would do to your system. Additionally you can check your actual bottleneck with e. g. MSI Afterburner. If your GPU shows close to 100% usage, the GPU is the limit. If the CPU shows higher dimensions, its the CPU. My GPU is at 98%, so no need to upgrade the CPU so far. If I look at your system I would say the RAM and the GPU should be changed in the first instance. If you want to save some money first it is always good to have a completely new system. But in the meantime you are stuck to the stutters. At the end you have to decide if you can live with it any longer or want immidiate improvement. Xoxen

GPU performance test in DCS2.5.6 for the forum
xoxen replied to Cy-27's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I just checked the Su-25T test. I achieve 83 FPS with 98% usage. Nvidia driver version 442.19 and DCS version 2.5.6.44266. Now I wonder why you have such a huge difference between the F/A-18 and Su-25 test and I have just 1 FPS difference. I checked both, in game FPS and MSI Afterburner FPS and they are identical. -
GPU performance test in DCS2.5.6 for the forum
xoxen replied to Cy-27's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
My DCS is 2.5.6 open beta, most actual version. I also wondered about the quite high FPS cmpared to yours. Will do the Su-25T test as well and share. Edit: You should double check your driver settings. Maybe there is some eyecandy option turned on causing a drop in FPS. I´m not familiar with AMD drivers.... -
GPU performance test in DCS2.5.6 for the forum
xoxen replied to Cy-27's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I just did the test like discribed with a GTX 1080Ti (even though it is not part of your request list). My GPU usage is stuck at 98% and the FPS are 82. I hope this helps. Xoxen -
AMD GPU lock st 30fps when sync is turned on
xoxen replied to Cy-27's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi Cy-27, if you switch on vsync the PC tries to sync the FPS with the Hz the display has. So 60 FPS in your case. If the PC is not powerful enough to reach 60 FPS it drops down to the half of it to be still synced, so 30 FPS. If it cannot even reach 30 FPS it would drop down to 15 (or 20, I´m not a pro on this). I hope this helps, Xoxen -
Help me with the first part of upgrade. 1/2
xoxen replied to Kevlon's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Hi Kevlon, my CPU is 5 years old as well but still performing good. At that resolution it might be worth looking at the GPU as well. Upgrading from a GTX 1070 to a GTX 1080Ti brought me a high boost in FPS. You should check with MSI Afterburner or similar how the load of your CPU and GPU is to figure out the bottleneck. If the GPU runs below 80-90% you have a CPU bottleneck, if it runs at 99-100% already you have a GPU bottleneck. I choose to have the 1080 Ti because of its 11GB of RAM which is always nearly full (I have 3x 27" WQHD running). Maybe worth looking deeper into it instead of spending a lot of bucks and not earning the expected boost in frames. So if you let us know what you actually have it could help to judge this in a better way. Xoxen -
Hi, the last days I did 2 flights in Caucasus on the actual open beta version (2.5.6.43931) and both times saw graphic mistakes on the water flying in a curve and watch to the left or right. Attached picture shows what I´m talking about (lower left corner). Unfortunately the track is 145 MB, a little too much to attach here. I don´t know if it has to do with my multi diplay system as at that point of the display the fisheye effect is quite high and zooms in a lot. I can live with it but would like to help identifying issues. Xoxen

On the picturea on page 1 it seem like it might be related to multi monitor. I have 3 monitors and see this as well.

[FALSE POSITIVE]DCS World 2.6 trojan? worldgeneral.dll
xoxen replied to NaOH1's topic in General Bugs
You need to bring all *.exe files onto the white list of your anti virus program. This helped me with Kaspersky. -
Exact same problem! I deleted the download folder and am actually retrying. Lasts a decade today to get it dowloaded. Edit: Switched off Kaspersky for now!

Main tripple screen plus 3x export to MFDs "issue"?!
xoxen replied to xoxen's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
This makes perfect sense. As mentioned I was short before buying a new CPU and I strongly believe that this would have imroved my FPS and I would still have a bottleneck with the two cards. I´m glad I found the cause before that :smilewink: This is exactly what it does. There are several versions of the TH2G out there, I have the "Digital SE" one which uses the Display Port of the graphics card and has 3x DVI for my displays. Now I can rund all 6 displays at one Nvidia card. If this is your problem you can solve it with the TH2G. -
Main tripple screen plus 3x export to MFDs "issue"?!
xoxen replied to xoxen's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
OK, I have great news. I bought a used TripleHead2Go and now I have connected all 6 displays to the GTX 1080 Ti. Everything works like charm. Immidiately I checked my test mission and wow, I have the full 53 FPS I also have without the exports. Not even a single FPS less. Conclusion 1: Best investment ever! Conclusion 2: 2 Graphic cards (Nvidia in my case) work together, but they caused a massive FPS loss in my case. As I checked a GTX 1050 Ti as well I doubt it was the weakness of the GT 1030. Anyway, I hope this helps others as it helped me to save 1000,- EUR by buying a new CPU, Mobo and RAM. This costed me 100,- EUR (and an additional 100,- EUR for a faulty TripleHead2Go, I´m still fighting with the seller to get my money back). Conclusion 3: I´m so happy  Unfortunalely I meet with friends tonight and tomorrow night, no flying time. -
Main tripple screen plus 3x export to MFDs "issue"?!
xoxen replied to xoxen's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Thanks Brewnix, I checked this with MSI Afterburner and in the following you find what it does at my test mission (there it shows 36FPS, but it always jumps between 35 and 36 being mostly on 35 ;) ) Sometimes the RAM of the card is fully used, mostly in larger MP missions. But as my test mission used appr. 7-9GB of RAM, I would exclude this to be the problem. I hope I´m right with this thinking. Regarding the driver issue this would be something I also could imagine and which would make sense to me. Thanks again for the input. Xoxen -
Main tripple screen plus 3x export to MFDs "issue"?!
xoxen replied to xoxen's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
OK, checked the internet for an additional time now but didn´t find too much about this. I guess it is like it is, but what I will try is the usage of a Matrox Triplehead2Go. This would make it possible to combine my 3 small displays to one wide display and run all of them on the GTX1080Ti only. The GT 1030 has a load of appr 65% when running the game, so it does anything. This "anything" could lead as kind of a break to my system. Once I can get a cheap TH2G and I´m able to try this I will share. For any other comments I´m more than willing to listen to them. Thanks, Xoxen
