  1. Ok, so lets clearify here something. First of all, the RL performance of these weaponsystems, like Mistral, Stingers, Aim9, any ARH or SARH are classified. Therefore, if you like to judge the ingame performance and like to compare the ingame missile with a video of a very early stage prototype missile that is fine o me and the team, but this will not help you or the community at all. I have stated before that we have no info about the videos that you guys use for judgements. Other then that, I can tell you, that Wikipedia is no relevant resource itself in terms of weapon performances. If you think the Mistral is to powerful, ok, that is your opinion, but believe it or not, we have spoken to the people that use it for living and we have recieved rough numbers and still we have not made it 1 to 1 with the numbers for multiple reasons. So the option for the player is, to like the mistral or hate the mistral. I probabaly come down to the fact on which side of the mistral you are standing, behind, or infront. That said, seekerlogic and balistic performances will not change, cause they are also, very close to the real stinger, just saying :joystick::pilotfly::lol::music_whistling:
  2. the nvgs are focused to infinity in reality. I have seen picrures taken on a ch47f night ops and the dash was not focused at all. I really like the fact that they are not focusing the cockpit anymore. If really needed i switch the nvgs off. Other then that it is pure practise.
  3. I was referring to the laserrange finding. It is missing in the tutorial there/ kneeboard. I always use it while doing hover or run attacks, so I know if I am in the missiles envelope or not. The max range is 4300m for the HOT
  4. nice. One remark. You forgot the laserraning in your document ;)
  5. Or comparing both in a different example suits better. 206 = 1970 charger. now put a turbo, a modern gearbox, a modern racing body, new brembo racing breaks and a new sport chassis with finetune adjustments into the 1970 charger. a widebody and new racing wheels added, there we go, you have the OH58d
  6. Hi, Although OH58A/C and OH58D share the same mainframe, both are not the same helicopters. Engine and totor are different. The OH58a/c is used for the basic flightschool. When we take a look at the 2 aircrafts we have to take a close look at the balance of them and also at the rotor, plus the supporting avionics. The OH58D is more like the 407 then the 206. Pilots will defenately understand the following. 206 is comparable to a sporty 1970 charger. The 58D/407 is comparable to a corvette 2001. You have to train and adjust with every helicopter, but the SCAS makes it maybe a little more relaxed during daily operations, but flying it without SCAS is a different topic. SCAS only dampens the tiny inputs a bit, but the basic flightbehaviors stays the same like transient torque or other effects that aplly to this rotorsystem. I did share a video of a 407 doing acrobatics in a differrnt topic. I have not seen a 206 do similar yet
  7. Hi, We leave this topic to be discussed by the community, as this is not something we will or want to be involved. Our aim is to produce highly detailed helicopters, so FC3 style is not part of us as developers. I am sorry.
  8. no. who ever wants to create one, the psd files are there. I only heard that red bull is very picky. I just wanted to share this video
  9. I am missing the Red Bull colors :D
  10. I hope I could shine a little light on some stuff. And I hope such direct communication was maybe a little more helpfull.
  11. Hi, we decided to wait until the f14 release, that also promisses a functional multicrew, and see what is happening Fact is, all, also the f14, rely on the core network code of the DCS platform. We hope to maybe see a new network code on the core DCS platform.
  12. Not only Heatblur made a complete new code for thier product. We have done such 2,5 years ago. We have sent a report of fixes needed to ED some time ago. Heatblur can do or praise what ever they want. At the end of the day, they face the same network code as we do or did in the past. What we have not fdone though, overhiped our solution. Plus, we had to face an even bigger issue, side by side cockpits.
  13. Hi, first, I hope this does not start a flaming here, but I could not hesitate to answer. @Varis and Silver_Dragon: How can you talk about something that you have no insight? We do update the Gazelle as we think it will receive an update and not a customer feels there is an update. Since non has insight to this besides our team, speculations are a bit unconstructiv. But that is my personal thought. About what we do and about what we keep shut is part of our company policy since this year, cause we learned that we stay communicativ, but we also have to stay focused on what we want to do. Do we want to talk to random individuals that are not linked to our projects or part of the aircraft industry, or do we want to spend our time on products that we want to produce? Just because we are silent for a few weeks or there are no updates either for a few weeks on the Gazelle does that not incorporate that we are sleeping or gone into the blue jonder. We will hopefully soon talk to puplic what we were up to the last 12 month, next to the updates of the Gazelle. So as we had to learn it the hard way, we also hope that the people outside have the same, paitence. And no, the "two weeks" joke is old and I can not read it anymore, cause it is more worn then a Mig15 todays :D
  14. Hi Hawkeye, Blinky is currently not available, so I was asked by him to let you know that he is aware of your letter. Blinky also told me as a response of the that he made his decision. He will stay with the Gazelle and not transition to a different helicopter in the future. Unfortunately to the refusal of our offer to him we hadto look for new pilots. Luckily we found 2 (real) army helicopter pilots that volunteered. I can not say much, but the good news is, the cockpit will not be a testosterone cabin anymore ;)
  15. To be fair, I only talked to 1 Royal Air Force Gazelle instructor who told me the scariest situation in his 4000 hours Gazelle time, next to Lynx and other. They entered a very early stage of retreadingblade stall and the student recoverred. despite the fact that they enterred level flight 3 feet of the deck at a speed exceeding from normal, the IP told me that he thought that is was the end of all for him in that minute and nearly did shit his pants. His conclusion about retreading blade stall. If you enter it that bad as people like to do it in sims, you areto 100% dead in RL. So nobody of the RL pilots will be able to give you a real answer. The once that maybe could are dead. The once that can give an approximate answer might be a few to none cause I figurred, since working a lot closer with some US Army pilots and knowing some frech army pilots, that the pilots that fly combat style know exactly the limits of thier aircraft and never exceed it.
  16. @Damcopter : Just drop me a personal message and we can discuss certain aspects. We can also share our real names that way and if it is ok for you I would forward the information to the commander of Le Luc, who invited us already to see the base and the flightschool for a day or 2. I am open to any professional discussion and would send the information gatherred in a private discussion forward to a buddy of mine who flys the Gazelle for the french special forces.
  17. Yes we have been in holidays. I will talk with Pat about it next week on our sceduled meeting
  18. Thanks for the offer. I think talking to the manager of defence and space is high enough. Next higher level would be the CEO and deputy CEO
  19. Well the only news I can give at the moment is, that we sent 2 requests to AIRBUS at some point and still wait for the approval of our requests. Last time it took 1+ years till the approval was there, but the good news is, that the it looks promissing for both requests but not guaranteed ;)
  20. @all, please stop fighting eachother. It makes it hard to followup on discussions. For me 5 out og 6 pages are useless to follow. As far I know a battery decay is not implemented cause as already shown, IRL the batteries are designed to operate without generator multiple times longer then a complete tank of fuel. But if the answer is needed badly I can ask Patrick if there is such decay existing in the Gazelle or not.
  21. sorry to sound rude or annoyed, but all. your points have been coverred already a few times. I am not going to explain it over and over again. Thanks for your comprehension
  22. Hi at all. I talked to Patrick about it again and in the end I asked him if we. ever mentioned that the gyro and the AP are linked to the SAS in the 342m but are there for the purpose of autohover and automated flight and no matter if or if not engaged, that. the SAS is running in the background of the helicopter all the time as soon the batteries provide enough power at the end. We came to the conclusion that some how it must have been lost in the hundereds of forum entries. So for not keeping. track if we mentioned and highlighted it I have to apologies. So i state it here again. even if you dislink the gyro and the ap from the SAS by switching them off, the SAS is still running in the background, which makes the helicopter more stable then others. We recieved the information why this was done and unique to the 342m from the pilots with similar words: "this was done to increase the stability and to give. us the freedom to work more efficient as a fireteam and reduce workload, cause on a battlefield flying is just a tiny bit of the whole action in the cockpit, so the french army had a request to make. the flight more safe" maybe this helps a bit to understand this helicopter. and yes, the SAS has an own gyro in itself. I would have to ask one of. the mechanics how it. is linked to the cyclic and actuators though. I have read all the postings here and yes, this is a never ending cyrcle it seems, that is heated up now and then. I am sure this will happen even when, if, a new product is released, even if people have never flown the other. stuff. as for the efm question. for helicopters in DCS there there is no such EFM existing, according to the coder we. mentioned before, only AFM. Since. a lot was written during the past 24 hours I hope to see some comprehension that I am not going. to. answer everything, and yes, as dimitrov said, we have a discord channel where everybody can join and talk to us directly or ask questions.
  23. And we are very happy and thanksful for your time and help, which also assured you a seat on the next beta team ;) Alpha team testers are currently hard at work to adjust and tweak the details of nb2 :D, but since we have no contract yet with ED, we can not share anything about the NB2 at all Sorry for that guys. Including this line here. We hope to show you our new baby this year at some point, we are working on it.
  24. If you pay for such an analys I can ask on of the US Army pilots I talk to eery week, if he wants to gve a ecture to the general puplic about why the Gazele feels good enough for him as a pilot who does earn his money for flying helicopters indangerous enviroments. I do not want to say that it is not worth to do so, but for month we are asked to answer x y z question abotu the flightmodel and are asked to give reasons why it flys that way, yada yada yada and people have recieved most answer numerous times. I think it is not on us to teach people how a helicopter flys, but including to this, not a single heicopter flys like the other. Since I have not flown the Gazelle in RL yet, I have to trust the guys that do fly it for living, like any other customer and make the best out of it with Patrick as a team. If anyone things, who has not flown the Gazelle in RL he knows better then the guys that do, please take the time and write a letter to the french army flightschool in Pau france, close to the spanih border and talk to them. They have our module, cause we gave it to them and we heard no complains so far, although I have to be fair that they have thier hands full with training the guys on Tigers and others next o the Gazelle and probabaly have not much time to answer, which they do not do often if we write. That said, enjoy your day
