Not very happy with the gazelle module
borchi_2b replied to notproplayer3's topic in Polychop-Simulations
The departure of the former CEO Oliver Michel, has nothing to do with our devolepment. Simple as that, he was not compatible any more with the team and the other 2 cofounders, so we had to eventually protect our bussiness and products and asked him to leave. -
LF advice on HOT-3 optimum firing range
borchi_2b replied to Backtrap's topic in Polychop-Simulations
Well in RL tank crews would engage you with thier guns if they spot you hover somewhere in thier range. My cousin was driving Leopard 2 A6 and he talked about what they learned in theory and in trainings. So no ATGMs needed. -
Not very happy with the gazelle module
borchi_2b replied to notproplayer3's topic in Polychop-Simulations
@notporplayer3: The switches of the encrypted radio are not done, cause this system is classified and we have no access to informations about this encrypted system. In addition, even if we would have informations, we would not build such encrypted classified systems, cause we dis never seek for any lawsuit with any military. Therefore we are sorry, but we are certain, that you will be able to comprehend our decision. -

Night vision on Gazelle L and minigun variants
borchi_2b replied to Polychop Simulations's topic in SA-342M Gazelle
Ramsay, the Gazelle used in the video and flown by the special force of the french army is a 342m without the viviane and all the extra stuff like doors. The one we made and used is supposed to be the 341L, which was never equipped with nvg lighting and retired long time ago, which made it nearly impossible to find documentation on rocket pods or either the gun. -
Hi to not share false hopes we want to state the it is only the rendering of artwork. About negotiations I do not want to state anything right now. Stay tuned

[DCS BUG] AIM54 is PITBULL from the start at any range
borchi_2b replied to Falcon_S's topic in Bugs and Problems
Thanks -
We do comprehend the interest in our work and the fact that people are curious, but one milesstone still has to be solved. Only if that one is solved we will be releasing some positive and interesting news about what we have been working on during the past months. So a littlebit of patience is what we unfortunately have to ask for. As soon we can make an announcement we will not disappoint

[DCS BUG] AIM54 is PITBULL from the start at any range
borchi_2b replied to Falcon_S's topic in Bugs and Problems
First of all this is not about the R27ER, this is about some fictional behavior of the aim54a/c missiles. We have tested this in depth and have found this and some other bugs. R27ER yes some of the stuff seems to be magical, but in the end there are some bugs too. Opposing to what people believe, this missile, the r27er platform, is, in regards to one guy we have access to who was a su30 testpilot, well undermodelled and roughly hits the prottype specifics of 1980 time. Specs about the real R27ER are as follows: head on range on fast moving targets at an altitude of 30000ft+ is 125km+ when you go supersonic with speeds around 1.5m of the launching platform. The 27ET has a range in the same specs of 115km roughly. Both platforms are _INS guided like the aim54 platform and only use ion terminal flight thier seekers. Roughly 10sec before impact these missiles use thier seekers, which is controlled by the weapon avionics logic of the launching platform, which is controlled by datalink. I can not go to much into detail, but also the countermeasure resitance is very strong compared to what you see in DCS, which means, the 27Er is chaff resistant and also does the 27et has a seekerlogic that bans certain heat ranges of the flares of nato, cause they burn in a very specific heatrange. The INS guidance of these missiles makes it possible for su27 and mig29 platfroms to shoot these missiles in TWS too. The max ammount of TWS targets differs and is dependand on the date of the radar build in the su27 family. So if we are speaking of tuning down the 27er and 27et, ok cool, but that is a different topic. For me the topic of adding the 27er into the discussion about a aim54a/c bug, makes no sense at all. Lets focus on the bug. Thanks -
@Gunnars Driver: The numbers of my example were only numbers for TRQ, I only wanted to explain that you will need additional 100% trq of your level flight for your 60 degree roll turn. So when you fly x speed and use for example 80% of your available TRQ, like in the huey in forward flight, you will not make any steep turns unless you pull the cyclic and reduce speed
-
About adding power. If you fly at 80knt level with 60% TRQ you will need in a 60° roll, to maintain speed and altitude 120% TRQ

Multicrew - Can't slew camera left and right
borchi_2b replied to DrummerNL's topic in Bugs and Problems
Well I have seen that the INS in multicrew in thier video at the beginning desynched and the aim54 was unable to be used. We all have to wait and see if the f14 will face issues in multicrew. Fact is, they also depend on the core network code. I can not dgo into details if something will change in that area. Thanks a lot for your comprehension -
Hi, I just found this topic and event. Nice to see, after I flew on carrierwars round 2 with the Su27k "100 KIAP Kraut", and had a lot of fun, that there is some event about helicopters. I do not want to hijack this topic, just want to say that I had a many hours long call with a Royal Army IP to back up informations we recieved from one Gazelle pilot at the moment, and no, It is only one pilot who recently commented the topic you mentioned. We are working on updating the Gazelle FM, but as far I see it, it will still out manuever any other dcs helo, until something else hits the market that is also a light helicopter. I can only say, it will be worth waiting, cause the new technologies we build the past 9 month will have a nice impact on the Gazelle aswell. @Alpenwolf, shoot me a messege if you like and maybe in round 5 I can be on with some real US Army pilots. ;)

@Thor: Nice. I have lived part of my childhood on the coast of slovenia. Lived in Portoroze and we did a lot of sailing down the croatian coast. Where are you living ?
-
no it is not. sorry to disappoint you. A wise man once said, the impossible task is, to pursuade a man of an opinion that is not his own.

let me ask you, have you flown it lately?

Just a question, are we discussing rotor dynamics here or the Gazelle? I often read what people write, but 80% is not constructiv or a pure assumption lacking the details of rotor dynamics. Yes I have spoken to Damcopter. In addition I have talked to other pilots, even one specialist of Bell Textron, and we are gathering informations. We will discuss certain aspects, but first of all, finish the development of the flightmodel of another helicopter, cause we integrate new technologies and new developed programs, outside of DCS, that will make the difference in the end. fact is, there will be an update at some time in 2019 to the gazelle, but there are things to discuss, also some information given by pilots, cause 80% of the pilots say, that keeping the roll input constant will get you into a deathly situation within seconds. considering, that a specific helicopter rolls 32 degrees/sec at a 1,5" input to the left (4.4" is the max from center) tells me and anyone, that you are in a deadly roll degree after 3.5sec. Also we have to figure what systems are active to cause certain interpretations. fact is, gyroscopic persession keeps your roll steady at 30 degrees, for example, not a constant cyclic input. And if people think RC helicopters are not like a helicopter, well, they are and ate bound to the exact samelaws of physics. I also had to learn a lot about static stability and dynamic stability, just saying. So I hope we can maybe get back to something constructive, or do should this be closed as a topic and we open a new one about rotordynamics, causethat is what would be more constructive for the community. We do understand and know the factors of rotor dynamics, but does everybody else? If anyone would like to discuss this further and more direct, join our discord and we can have a direct communication about it.

@Fri13: I may have to ask here, cause I am not sure what you expect. You expect it to behave like the Huey or even the MI8 in terms of the pendulum effect of an underslung rotor like the Huey ? Am I getting your part there correct ? As soon I know what you are expecting, or which reference you are using, I can try to give you an answer.

@GGTharos: I am not going into this what is wrong or what is right on the russian missiles for a good reason. I tried to answer the question raised in some normal way and not point a finger directly at ED. That was not and will not be my intention. Other then that, I could hand you the contact for the russian missiles, if you think you need or want someone, but that is up to you guys. I have read your post there. I do understand your point. What we could do is talk about missile values and at the end we can figure if certain thoughts are right or wrong. Sure the Stinger is slower and it also has a round shaped head, but if the stinger is facing less speed and more drag then a mistral, how can certain values then be true for the stinger ? Max range is 8km/ Minimum range 1000m. NEZ around 4500m for medium to high altitude targets/ 3800m for low flying targets. Max speed is 750m/s. self destruct at 15s - 19s after launch. ? So looking at the values of a missile that is supposed to be performing less powerful on longer ranges then the mistral, does the mistral represented by us make more sense ? Basically we are scratching here a surface that we maybe should not discuss puplic, cause as you know, missile perfromances are classified and not ment for puplic discussions. As a sidenote, the data of the stinger that I have mentioned can be found online.
-
@fragal: I am not going to argue with you here. Send me the data of the real missile that are classified. After that, lets talk. You have not even responded on the 4500m NEZ, so I am assuming that you know about the 2 stages of burn, like I assume that you can agree that you do not see a 2 stage burn on the videos. I am not sharing anymore about this missile for now. If you want to stay constructiv on the matters of this topic, please come up with numbers and I am happy to discuss them in regards if they are somewhere close to real data. That also applies to anyone else who likes to discuss the mistral. Thanks a lot
-
Hi, Again, the videos give no status of the actual version shown. As I stated, the animation of the missile is something we can debate. NEZ of the mistral and stinger are for both missiles roughly around 4500m. We are talking here about NEZ and not max range. For us the discussion is obsolete. @fragal: You think is is BS. Well as long as you are not working with the missiles in RL and as long as you are not Rythoon or a weapons specialist and you have no classification permit you can have an opinion, but calling something BS is anything then constructive. Therefore, thanks for the videolinks, but that is about it. I could give you a rough data of the original missiles, but as stated before, a puplic forum is not a place to share classified information. A suggestion from my side is to search for the data of the stinger which can be found online, but even they are changed on certain aspects. @FoxAlfa: We do not know if ED has got all thier missiles wrong, but what I know is, that the russian missiles are not correct on multiple aspects. Why that is that way we do not know and we do not ask for the reasons. If the stinger ingame is wrong in performances? I do not know, cause I have not taken a look at it yet. In other words, I have not made a test yet and at the moment I am not planning on testing a missile that is not in our hands for now. For us the topic is closed for now. This might sound rude or some people will not comprehend our standing, but, as long as we do not get any constructive numbers from the people that claim the mistral would be wrong, and youtube videos will not do, we see this as a basic complain that has not a very strong base of facts. I hope I do not disappoint you to much here.
-
We do, cause we have people that know how it works :smilewink: did you know that the stinger has a 17 seconds self destruct timer ? I am not going into further discussion about the mistral or the stinger, cause this makes no sense on the long term. If people think that they know more then the people that have the classification rating or not, makes no difference on the informations we recieved. Therefore I think the only positiv value of this topic is the questions about the animations. Seekerlogic, flare resitance programs, burntime of the engines of the missiles, ranges and lock ranges are not a topic for an every day forum anyways.
