First of all, dimitriov is not a dev team memer as such. He tlks to us a lot yes and is part of the testers in later stages of the modules. He is the one who made the gazlle campaign, not more not less. So he can not speak as developer and it is not his module or product. 2nd. Since you stated points of disymerty of lift etc etc and have not touched the module yourself, your opinion is based on others and videos. I have seen mutiple videos where people try to claim a or b but when I watched the videos closely, last time it was the compreisson with a CAPRI, I figured people fly the real life helos different then the Gazelle. If you think no real physical based formulas are used in our code that is fine, but I can tell you that not a single hlicopter or plane would take off in DCS with a professional flightmodel if non of these formulars were present in the code of each individual product. Other then that, there are reasons why I do not answer everything people write, like your last ost or the by other interpreted assault, which I did not take as such. I rather think, as soon someone starts to say we do not know helicopter dynamics it is the point where there is no need to further talk to that person, cause in the end there is no base for a solid conversation from that point. Other then that pericopitc precession, angular momentum, mushing, transient torque and so on and so on, are phrases I am very well aware of and thier physical effect and the resulting factors. Have a nice day folks, and stop bashing eachother. No need to. I got used to the crytics even if the flightmodel of ny future product is rock solid and verified by the guys that flew it for thousands of hours, there will be people that will tell us that this bird does not fly like it. I already have a verification idea for the future module if it is accepted by ED, but that verification would go through pn, cause for the upcoming planned module we have a very very huge community that is standing in the background and more then willing to help ID people or help with any other stuff we ask for. Therefore, if you are not one of them, yu know less then me about the new bird and I am not even one of them. So lets have some hapy rides in the Gazelle

unfortunately we represented the max we were allowed to. the system is still in some way restricted
-
out of the versions we released, the 342M Gazellle Viviane is the most accurate, plus, the periscope is not used on the 342m anymore and in most versions of the mike it is removed.

Hi, klar kann man sich auch gerne auf deutsch unterhalten, aber es bringt uns wenig wenn wir die Personen nicht kennen und wir deren Hintergrund nicht kennen. Ich mach weiter auf Englisch. ???? So about the FM. We do know which areas might have issues and which might not. In your video they use a 341L as far I can see, that has no SAS system. makes a huge difference. I do not want to say that we do not read or understand what people want from us, we do, but as we have stated numerous times before, we prefer to listen to the people that have thier hands on the real controls of the actual french Gazelle 342m version for living, cause they can tell us what it really is like in comparison to the real deal. I have read noumerpus post of people that claim they are real helicoptdr pilots, but non of them has ever spoken even about a unique design feature of the Gazelle and why it can fly hands off at 120kph level, which it can. Dcs in general is a very sterile enviroment compared to tbe real weather that pilots encounter in real life. Most missions are planned without wind or turbulences, which requires the inputs you see in some real life videos. I do not want to defend the DCS Gazelle here or attack opinions represented by pilots or talented simmers, no, I only want to point out that non of the customers even talked about others stuff that we did not represent as it is like in real life, cause it is restricted to some extend, in which case I am referring to the display of the the Viviane or the fuctions it offers in real life. Did anybody, who claims to know what this helicopteris supposed to be like in RL ever mention that the Viviane only has IR view in realtiy and that the symbology is not what it would be like in real life? No. But our french pikots did tell us, who I consider being the experts in the case of the Gazelle. We asked certain questions ourself that were braught up by the community and we recieved answers about it from them and tried to change as much as we could in the Gazelle FM to get as close as possible with the way it was coded. So let me state one thing about FMs. We are working hard with real life pilots and I assure already now, that what ever we come up with next, should also please the real life pilots in this group. The bonus is, that for future projects we seak to work with the type specific real life pilots from minute 1 at the project start, what ever it may be. This gives a huge advantage to any future project, cause we hear about specifics that a only known by the guys that fly it. And yes, we listen to all people, but will not be able to please every individual. For example FFB. I was hard or mear impossible to get a good functional FFB stick 2 or 3 years ago. We did at some point, but the first 2 were broken and finally after we found another3rd used stick it finally worked. This is just a little insight about a little obstacle we had to face, but sometimes I feel the expectations of the customers are that it has to be perfect all the time, which is impossible ever. About new stuff, I can and will not post anything until we have signed a contract with ED, which will stay our future policy for DCS related products, regardless what 3D shape you might see on our facebook page. Right now I can only claim that we have the backup of 7 pilots, that have a total of 8500 flighthours, 3000 of them in combat, plus 2600+ people in a closed community that know exactly where we are going and most of them are the professionals we look for as advisors and testers. If these people we allowed to become our test pilots, say something is wrong, we will know that there really something is wrong, plus we will get the detailed descriptions of what it does in x y z condition and why it does so. Ok. I will keep reading your postings about the FM as they come. cheers.

Hi Kam, you had your nose down in the Gazelle nearly 20°. In your Cabri you never did similar. When you fly the same way in your Cabri you will exceed safe flight the same way and break it.
-
here is the youtube link to the cyclic behavior Jester986 talked about. Thanks for sharing this with me. Happy flying and enjoy the anti fire missions

please use the proper report section

Yes we are developing independently from Miltech-5 and are in no way connected to them, no matter if an ex staff founded the other company.

I can assure you hanab, that we are reading every week the forum several times to see what is going on, cause right now we have no community manager which I personally would like to have so we can focus on the things we have to do in first place. Plus sometimes it is hard to not get out of line in the tone so yes I am thinking about whom we could offer that job.

About the right skid low. She actually has a right roll in hover of 2°. This is not much but she is very light too. Let me assure you, we evolve and learn new stuff with new modules too. I can not talk about it yet, but the last check we did yesterday and comparing real pictures with the picture i transferred to one of our product consultants unvield that in the super heavy weight condition some helicopters have a huge rolldegree in hover. That is all i can say right now about hanging skids in translating tendency conditions. About the other modules, well after the sales i finally have all helos available in DCS and compared them all. I do not want to make official statements about the other products, but some feel more realistic then others just by the pure feeling. I talked a lot with the pilots of my contact list. Some of them fly the huey for living like Jester also presented and surprisingly the once I talk to do not like the Huey for the way the cyclic is programmed. I have no sticktime on the Huey in RL so I have to listen to the once that do and learn from them. Fact is, DCS is great for what it is, YES, "a game" and it goes very far in terms of getting closer to reality then others that are on the market way longer. So I still enjoy the Gazelle at the end of the day, although I assume through testing and developing this module and still using it now and then I can claim that I have way mor then 500 hours on her, probably closer to 1000. What I can say though in the name of the team is, that we hope to shout out some news about new stuff this year, but some benchmarks have to be meet and some milestones also have to be passed to actually unviel anything of our future stuff. We still plan great stuff and even beond what we have released and plan to release as next module and I assume the story about what feels right or wrong will stay the same all the time. Nevertheless I wish all of you a happy flying and while I look at my screen and see on my 2nd screen something awsome I have a big smile of joy on my face. Ohh and I know already now that on first insight people will start to talk about the flightmodel, although they can only see stuff but not have first touch :D

Yes we speak. Not as much as we sometimes would like to, but now and then when we have the time, we do speak. But we also learned that sometimes you have to be quiet and not to speak, when others try to force you to speak, esspecially when you have nothing nice to say. In behalf of us, Polychop, we do ask you guys to not fire HOTs at eachother. There is no need to fight or jump infront of us. We learned to not respond to sentences that left the fine tone of respect, which is why we sometimes do not answer to not stir up the oven of heat with gasoline ;) that said, yes we are aware of sepecific bigs and try to solv them asap, next to working on something new.

Dear community, First of all thank you for your time and effort to speak about your thoughts on the Gazelle. Let me roll up the last post from last to first. About bank angles of the Gazelle a very important fact has to be known. As soon the AP and the gyro are activated, another system is running in the background to enhance flightsafety and an easier controlability of the helicopter for combat use. This system is callaed "SAS", as far I remember the correct name is Stability Augumentation System, but I would have to check that again, which is not im portant for the function it provides. This system is designed to support the pilots and counter tendencies of the airframe that you try to neglect if possible to increase safety of flight during combat. According to the french pilots the system has 2 sides, a good and a bad one. Good one is that it enables you to fly semi automatic in cross country flights. Bad part is, if you fly more aggresiv you have to fight the systems tendencies, which is the reason why some of the pilots switch of the AP or the gyro for example. I also switch of the trim when I fly her in DCS, then she feels even more natural to me, but that is just me and everybody has to find thier preferred way of flying her. This SAS has no real activation button by design in the SA342M cause it is directly linked to the gyro and the autopilot. As soon you switch off certain functions the SAS is also deactivated. Another important factor about the Gazelle is the design of the rotorsystem. I often read that people like to compare the Gazelle and the huey. Yes both have the same phyisical laws applied, BUT, they both have different rotordesigns, not only the ammount of the blades and the width of the blades over the cord of the blade, no, the airfoil is different and very importantly, also the rotorsystem itself is designed different. The blades of the Gazelle are capable of flap and feather independently which also changes some flightbehavior in favour of the Gazelle, and no, the blades of the Huey are not capable of doing the exact same. As far I remember the blades of the Huey are only able to flap through the axis of the hinge. Also weight and distance between center of mass and rotor center are different, including the relativ positions between, mainrotor, tailrotor and center of mass, which is for example a reason why the Gazelle has literally no tendency of roll when you apply yaw. Compared that with a huey it has to be stated that both fly different and according to one of the testpilots in our team, who flys the huey for living, plus one of his buddies has over 10000h on the huey and knows the DCS huey, the flightmodel has its flaws too, which I myself can not comment, cause I have no experiance with the huey other then in DCS, so for me, in regards to the huey, I am at the same seat of opinion like the majority of the customers and think it is great. One factor I have to add about the SAS too. This system enables the autohover of the helicopter too. Without it the SA342M would not be able to autohover or even slave itself to the Viviane sight. Sc_neo pointed out that the Gazelle centers itself slower then the MI8. I do have the DCS MI8 since nearly 2 weeks now and know little to nothing about its avionics. I assume that the MI8 does not have a SAS, but as stated, I do not know, so the next thing is pure speculation. If it does not have a SAS the centering tendency of the MI8 is linked to the pendulum effect, that is more pronounced to heavy helicopters then to light once, where you feel little to no pendulum effect, which also depends on thier relativ design. About Focha. I am not sure what your intentions are, but I have reviewed your former statements and compare it to yours now and they are the complete opposite. First you complained about fm issues that were by far changed now and now you complain about the fact, that the helicopter keeps it roll, which you were complaining about before, that it was not doing what I just mentioned. Not sure if I misunderstood something, but right now I am not sure where you want to travel with your statement. I am happy to talk about aspects of helicopter flights all the time, but keep in mind, EVERY helicopter flys different and also DCS huey and DCS MI8 have flightmodel flaws, which I have seen myself. But I am not discussing any other module that is not our own, which would not be fair and I hope that we do not have to compare DCS huey and DCS Gazelle all the time to explain things, cause explaining and comparing flaws with flaws just make things worse and I would not like to judge other modules in comparrison with ours. I am certain the people who made the other modules have thier valid information why the modules are the way they made them. Same apllies for us. @Focha, please make sure that the FFB options are turned off. One of the pilots was bitching about the Gazelle too, until we compared settings and figurred that FFB was activ, although he uses a none FFB stick.
-
@sc_neo. None of your mentioned will be added, cause we built the french Gazelle, which does not have any of these features.
-
Does this happen in open beta or stable? Mine did crash when a plane hit the mountain 1 km away from me. I saw the complete engagement. We are looking into in open beta. stable should be working fine. Who claims not to be able to fly this helicopter anymore because if this should use it in dcs 2.5 stable
-
In addition, some bugs to fix nedd a lot of time and sometimes others do not. DCS is a living platform with constant changes, therefor, concidering a product being finished and encountering bugs afterwords is normal for any company in any branch
-
What has a intro to do with bugfixing? nothing. If we look for someone who can do a job better and quicker, a job that is not on first priority for the core dev team, is a valid and a normal practise for any company to outsource the task, even for us. Thanks a lot for comprehension that I had to answer on a posting on our facebook page that had nothing to do with any module at all. cheers
-
there is no need to open a new topic. we do read the bug section regularly. Please do not spam the topics, cause in the end we have to read hours and hours of forum postings that keep us from doing what we would like to do. Work on the existing module and work on new once in the shades of a skunkwork

well i do not know much about the apc tigr, but we had APCs in our forces and 7.62mm rounds would have not done much harm to it. our army tested it and we used them as medivac ground transports. dang i had to google the name of it. APC Fuchs.
-
I am happy to test it again this week, but last week I killed infantry, Kamaz trucks and even an outpost with the gun in singelplayer. Not sure why you could not kill trucks with the minigun
-
I will check the effect the next days. fact is, every tailrotor has an idle pressure that could keep your helicopter straight in the yaw axes when you have 0 torque. as soon you increase torque when you recover, you need to counter the torque with tailrotor thrust
-
In addition, please note that it is released in open beta and not on the stable 2.5.1 version that should follow at some point, which gives all teams to solve the issues and integrate them into the stable 2.5.1
-
Unfortunately we were not given an access to the 2.5.1. preior to the patch of the open beta, which means our working files were delivered for upload and nobody, not us or ED was forseeing that there would be an issue with the rendering of the TV.

We will not make any statements about negotiations or will or who will not publish a Kiowa Warrior in DCS. So from my perspectiv, speculations or assumptions that have no proven fact as background does not help anybody, causeit might cause rumours that does hurt a project or the community of our beloved niche of flightsim. Yes we currently have no license for DCS, which does not imply if we have licenses from the aircraft manufacturer or for other softwares on the market, which we will not state at the moment. After the last rumble when we released news that showed 3d work only, we decided to cut our news or communications to the minimal for some time. If there are news in regards to the Kiowa Warrior and DCS that we and ED have the feeling to be announced the community will hear them, I am sure.
-
He said he refunded the Gazelle, so he does not have the module. I am wondering how this conclusion happens, cause the first argument about the groundeffect can be proven wrong withing 1 min of flight, plus the other arguments can be proven wrong to. There is nothing that can be answerred to someone who just wants to hate on something with arguments that are false.
