  1. I agree. I'd rather have more precision than faster moving trim.
  2. Here's an idea... Let's just wait until it's finished and all it's features are implemented before making judgments about its usefulness.
  3. Turn off the "cockpit light" switch beneath. It's for the white flood light and I found it to be causing the problem. Also, if it does burn out, just push the fuse in.
  4. Ale i, what happens if you select it manually?
  5. Are you sure your actual speed got stuck or was it just the indicator?
  6. I really like the idea. I'll have to give it a try.
  7. While browsing through the manual I noticed a small error on the fuel calib table. Shouldn't this be MAIN instead of AUXILLARY?
  8. I can at least confirm the HMD part: This is how it looks at max intensity.
  9. +1 And yeah while not as ugly as the old Ka-50 in my opinion this is the next one in line for an updated model.
  10. You're right, I uploaded the wrong file. :music_whistling: It should be the PilotSight_page.lua I'll edit my original post then.
  11. Here's another treat for you. I've played around with a .lua files and managed to make the sight bigger. Now the values are correct. To install replace the "PilotSight_page.lua" file in "Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Mods\aircraft\Uh-1H\Cockpit\Scripts\PilotSight\Indicator" Cheers! PilotSight_page.lua
  12. If set to carrier the AOA indexer will blink if the gear is down and the hook is up and stop blinking if it is down. If set to field the AOA will not blink regardless of the hook position.
  13. Just replace the file in Don't forget to backup the original one. You're welcome. EDIT. Just bear in mind it's not 100% accurate as the outer circle in DCS is 50 mil and with this sight it should be 80. sight_XM60.zip
  14. Think of it that way - if it were that simple they would've done it already.
  15. Thank you. Do you plan to release these features in this order?
  16. Yeah, BRC 48 means 048, not 480.
  17. I don't have enough time to read through all of this info right now, so sorry if I post something that was already said. However I did some research a while ago on how gun harmonization was performed in the RAF during the Battle of Brittain and found this intresting article: https://www.kenleyrevival.org/content/history/faces-of-kenley/ground-crew-raf-kenley#section1 In short, the harmonization was performed at the airfileld, but the guns weren't fired. Instead they inserted a small periscope-like device into the breach of the gun and adjusted the angle to aim the gun at the specific plate on a pre-calculated board placed 50 yards in front of the aircraft. Here is a picture of the harmonizing unit: Here's a picture of the board: The disc in the middle is most likely to calibrate the gunsight and the one just below it on the left is for the camera.
  18. I mapped mine to the analog stick on the throttle. Works surprisingly well with a little bit of tuning.
  19. Well, don't use them for BVR would be my first suggestion. They lose energy very quickly and if you lose lock the missile's gone. In my experience they works best just outside the max range of a Sidewinder. If you're flying against the AI the best tactic IMHO is to avoid enemy missiles until you get close enough. In other words don't think of them as a slightly worse AMRAAM but rather as a semi active slightly longer range Sidewinder.

Another way of doing it is once you're set up on the cat throttle up until the CHK TRIM message appears on the left DDI and the trip up until it disappears.
  21. Just my 2 cents as I've recently bought one myself: Depends on many factors. First of all, what do you currently use? If you already have a warthog then the F-18 stick is just a matter of "do I have the spare cash for it" as it doesn't provide much when it comes to functionality or ergonomics (apart from the feel of the buttons which I've heard is better than warthog - I've never owned a warthog before so can't say for myself) Secondly, what types of jets are you flying mostly? If you spend most of your time in the F/A-18 or the Harrier than it works great. As for the other jets, I haven't had any issues using it on the F-16 - I've mapped one of the missing hats on the throttle - the RL F-16 throttle still has less buttons than the warthog so that wasn't a problem. The A-10 however is a different story. Since I'm using the small buttons on the center for VR I have no idea how I'd map it for the hog. That's also one of the reasons I don't plan on buying the A-10. As for the ergonomics, you can easily place it on the chair between your legs. It's quite stable, actually once you sit on it and I don't find it uncomfortable.
  22. Had a similar problem once. Deleting the tanker and placing a new one helped. My guess is, it's related to waypoint actions They should look like that: When I removed the actions and placed a "Tanker" action manually it didn't work (I couldn't find a way to add -a at the end but since I'm not even sure what it means I don't know if it's related).
  23. Yeah, sorry, didn't notice that. As far as I remember the last time I used the IR Mav I did this: first I pressed the TDC - the crosshair shows up then I moved the TDC while pressed to point it
  24. Check if you have "realistic TDC" checked in the Special menu. If it is you need to keep TDC pressed while slewing it.
  25. I'm tempted to say "get a better HOTAS and a VR headset" cause it was way easier that way for me. But... I've struggled with AAR myself and got it without those gadgets so it can be done. Maverick's video is really good. I'd also suggest setting up curves on the stick. I was overcorrecting, even with tiny movements of the stick and setting the curves helped a lot.
