Are there any mods that work to reposition the kneeboard in a realistic/modern way, where it is viewed as an iPad strapped to the actual leg of the pilot model? I feel like the module developers would have done this when creating pilot models for their cockpits, but that doesn't appear to be the case -- perhaps there is some limiting factor in the code that I am unaware of? What I am looking for is something that provides this view: I've searched around quite a bit and can't find anything, although I do think I remember a mod from back in 2014 when I first found DCS that did this...IIRC, it has a lot of issues though and may have fizzled out?

That's all lumped in to "The Hornet" for me. Same as over wing and LEX vapor, canopy rain drops, etc is all lumped in with "2.5". Tried to keep the list short and sweet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Your job as the pilot is to check that the switches are in the positions you require them to be in, not necessarily to switch all of them yourself -- if they are out of position from your procedure, change them. The ground crew will take care of a lot of the "switch flipping" for you in advance.

As promised, I'm following up  Thank you in advance for your time.

Unveiling the VKB TECS Throttle Control System
Buckeye replied to UIV's topic in VKB-SIM Flight Gear
Question for Aero (or any other VKB rep), what was the thought process behind not having one of the ministicks be like the one used on the left side of the MCG (the same one used on Playstations)? I'm assuming that one of these two will be used as the TDC slew -- index finger for NATO / thumb for RedFor -- by 99% of pilots, so would it make more sense for one of them to take that button shape? Preferably you would have these buttons be swapable so that you would be able to satisfy both the blue and red pilots where they could place it wherever they preferred Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Sadly I need to back out, gents. My fiancées dad just called and told me he is making the trip in to town for the weekend for her birthday...so I will be tied up with that all day. Best of luck to all, S! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Regarding the F10 map stuff, am I correct in assuming that you plan to use the Sony analog stick (on the left side) to navigate the F10 menu ruler, etc, instead of the mouse? I debated that too, but determined that I don't mind (and feel I would be more time efficient by) pulling my hand off the stick to get my bearings/distance/SA really quickly...after all, I don't really gain much by having my hand on the stick when F10 is up and I can't see where I am flying anyway, haha (I've died far more times than I'd like to admit when buried into F10 bearing calcs, etc). I guess I am just looking to understand a bit more your thoughts on the benefits here? For VR zoom, I need that to be bound on my throttle hand...why? Because I like to zoom in on my target (air or ground) before firing and I need my right hand thumb to be free to press the pickle/fire/weapon release button to achieve a zoomed in firing solution. So for that function I'll need to look to the VKB throttle  For the radio menus navigation I use SRS + Voice Attack + VAICOMPRO so I don't even see the menus in game anymore (I've turned them off). This is why I'm torn on how much of a benefit all of these extra buttons would provide me...I just can't seem to think of anything that I, personally, will use them for.

I am new to VR and I want to choose a GPU...
Buckeye replied to OrionAstronaut's topic in Virtual Reality
I have a 1080 Ti OC'ed pretty damn well, with a CPU OC'ed to 4.7ghz and 16GB of RAM...and I'm lucky to consistently achieve what I bolded above in your post. Not sure what 2.5 will bring to the table, but I am sorry to say that you'll either have to change your budget or change your settings. -
I am still trying to figure out what in the world I could bind all of these axes and buttons to in the Harrier (or Hornet or Tomcat in the future)...anyone mind to share their plans? I feel like if I go with a MCG I am going to end up with a bunch of unused buttons, considering the real HOTAS mapping of a Harrier/Hornet/Tomcat requires significantly less axes/buttons. The only thing I can think of is adding, outside of the actual functions mapped to the real sticks, are a Kneeboard On/Off with a Kneeboard Pg Up and Pg Down -- most likely on the index finger 5-way. Other than that, I am drawing blanks.

If it can be made into portrait, this would make for a very useful Kneeboard page (assuming F10 is turned off) Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Please drop in speedtree before launch He did, wasn't sure if it was a misstatement or not though (it's tough doing a live stream while preoccupied with flying a complex jet, so would be understandable if it was). Haven't seen or heard any discussion/confirmation since that though...also don't know (assuming it wasn't a misstatement) if he meant on launch, or in due time. Edit: awful typing on phone lol Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

New PC Build VR Performance Question
Buckeye replied to 1Wolf's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
64GB of RAM is excessive, even your current 32 GB of RAM is mostly excessive for DCS usage....unless you plan on 5+ hour sessions and springing memory leaks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Damn, it's a shame that today is the fiancee's bday so I'm banned from DCS for the day :noexpression: Enjoy, hope the testing goes well. Welcome back, buddy!

So let me make sure I am following properly...I am going to order a JetSeat SE from Andre for use in DCS only via USB. The seat is all I will need to order? Then I just download the freeware SimShaker for Aviators, and I have the best available software for USB integrated JetSeat for use with DCS? -
You can also use SkateZilla's tool to bounce the same install back and forth between the Stable and the Open Beta, correct? That would only necessitate 1x the SSD space.

Unveiling the VKB TECS Throttle Control System
Buckeye replied to UIV's topic in VKB-SIM Flight Gear
Brilliant! I sold my $1100 Steelcase Leap V2 chair to her as a health investment as well. Told her it was to ensure healthy posture and no back issues later in life. Great minds think alike, it seems  She seemed to buy it, but who really knows?! The important thing is that she didn't bitch about me purchasing it. -
Unveiling the VKB TECS Throttle Control System
Buckeye replied to UIV's topic in VKB-SIM Flight Gear
 I'm in the same boat, brother! My fiancee told me I can get my Slaw RX Viper pedals (which have been ordered for months) plus one other flight related thing before our wedding and honeymoon, which is in late May through early June, and the rest would need to come after. So...I need to know if the VKB HOTAS should be my "one other thing" (I am going to make an attempt at exploiting a loophole, hopefully, and ordering both the stick and throttle as a bundle and count it as only one thing), or if I should just order my JetSeat SE instead and plan to pick this up once we get home from the honeymoon :music_whistling: -
And in August/September of last year, he told me "yes, now I will work hard on it and prototype for production will be done by end of september, but we still need time to produce in enough quantity after that... We will probably start taking orders for combat style in October or November on same principle as we take orders now." He had said similar to others prior to this as well. The process seems to be dragging on for whatever reason (I am sure there is a good one). I am sure they will be great whenever they are released, it just might be a while still...hard to say, and hard to take his estimates with much more than a grain of salt. Nonetheless, there are better options available anyway...a perfect example being the BRD F2 pedals. Never did much digging on the F3, etc because I wanted to be able to install a damper.
