1. If you dont know the situation between FT and NP, then you have no right to bash NP. Educate yourself. Marketing ploy? More like IP protection. 2. The SST program was no problem at all. Make sure you have the latest SST software, and then do a search in this forums. I have posted a profile once already. I have no problem with pinky+ commands, and you do not have to reassign or delete ANY commands in the DCS input config. Screw it, I know you will just rant about actually have to do some work to find or make a profile, and since its the Christmas season, I will post my latest. And 3, what do you mean BS cant take joystick commands? Me thinks you havent really taken the time to try and use the software or anything. You gave it 5sec, you couldnt figure it out and you gave up. As far as free track and drivers signing. Well either use EasyBCD to turn driver signing off permanently, or press F8 on boot to choose to disable it. A very well known 'problem' with Vista x64. Jeez, does no one actually do any research anymore? :pilotfly: Have fun in LOMAC, BS is sorted here. Black Shark v1.2.zip

No Becks..... read the thread. You of course can change the affinity of a process in XP, but it just provides no benefit with regards to DCS-BS. It has already been explained that it has something to do with how Vista handles DX or some such thing. Becks, there is no real reason for them to fix it soon. Wombat has provided an excellent solution. But then again, there are lots of people who dont come to the forums to find these fixs.... I wonder if they would find the patch then? And like I said in my first post, I understand why ED decided to use single core considering the problems there was at first when dual cores were coming out. But that was fixed with a Windows patch as it was just a load balancing problem. So hopefully in the first patch it gets changed back.

Awesome work wombat. I editted the script files for an i7 with HT on. One is for 4 cores of 0,2,4,6 which are the physical. And then one for all 8. Now, how do you create a batch or command file to open this script, and then either the SP or MP shortcuts? I tried what limited I know, but none of it worked. DSCAff_i7.zip

It happened on the 159th server. I could go to any other server and the mission loaded OK.
-
So I have found that sometimes when I get in an MP server, the mission is paused for me. Chat is working ok, and other people say they are flying OK. I exit and restart BS, but same thing. Odd.

Just run the driver setup again. If the LCD is not on the drivers are not installed. If you are on Vista without UAC disabled, just rightclick on the driver exe file and choose to open as administrator. And go through the installation. Nothing else needs to be done, I have done this about a dozen times.

The program errors trying to set affinity to 4,5,6,7.

Yes, companies should have no reason nor right to protect their IP.....

If they had never let us download the RU version in the first place, we would never have known how much it cost. So IMO just feel lucky they even let you download the RU version to begin with.
-
The base was there first.

Will the CD version have the disk check like FC did?
-
FRAPs uses a bit of the CPU, maybe that is why.
-
It doesnt make sense for it to work out of game but not in, by alt-tab. Is the trap option set? Did you delete the key binding for '5' in BS?
-
So when this problem is happening, keep the game open and alt-tab to desktop and open the TIR software. Go to the profile and key settings. When you try to set the key, what comes up?
-
That one opens, but gets an error trying to set affinity. So tried again, and it is able to set affinity to core 0,1,2,3 but not 4,5,6,7. So it is probably a HT problem. Thats ok, I just need another core anyways :)

The i7 is tri-channel so 8GB wouldnt work.
-
I get a script error when trying to open SetAffinityII. I wonder though, it is for using 4 cores, and I have 8 with the i7.
-
I use a tool called Everest that monitors everything, it has a G15 LCD plugin. One of the things I have setup is GPU usage. In game BS only uses 40-50% GPU on my 4870 1GB.
-
I have no issues with my 4870 on Vista 64. From what I hear it is also providing better results in BS/LOMAC than the 260/280.

Theox, what you are seeing is what I see when I alt-tab. I have auto-hover mapped to my x52, but it does not cause the problem. So maybe it is something connected with my SST software also? I will look into this though, because I also have TIR problem where center and pause no longer work. I found that if i go into TIR software and try and remap keys during this, I get Ctrl+F9 instead of F9 and Ctrl+F12 instead of F12. So maybe a CTRL key is being stuck by TIR software.

Vista<XP<Vista multi-core I have the same problem there 7rooper with the keyboard. It wasnt doing it before, but it is now, pretty consistently. I can run it in windowed mode, but that defeats the purpose. I would just use procaff, but since we are not starting from an executable, but the launcher with a switch, and a batch file, it doesnt work.
-
Since I am using Vista, and getting a performance increase by selecting multiple cores, this is a real pain. The only thing I found so far is to play in windowed mode, but then I am forced with VSync.
-
Mine does this also. When it is doing this, go into the TIR profile to the hotkeys and try and reassign center to F12 again, and you will see the key come up as Ctrl+F12. So it appears its some glitch, when this happens just hit Ctrl+F12, and it usually goes away and then F12 works.
-
How do you get this to work? I get a runtime script error.
-
You can just change the frequency you are on.
