  1. hey, i'm curious.. are you able to ALT-TAB out?? i am not able to do it - sometimes it would be so nice to be able to get out and switch channels in TS etc.. but i have to be in full-screen (or NOT in full-screen - i forget) and i can't do it without screwing up DCS.........
  2. i saw the 51st had a mission this last weekend 80s loadouts only (SARH + heaters) i had a great time! (extra bonus ----- they also subscribe to the "red is RED, blue is BLUE" theory - ie.. US/NATO = blue, WARPAC = red)

"yes" ----- i would definitely like to see at SOME point nato/US/blue vs russia/WARPAC/red having a scenario in the rotation over the weekend would be super cool (or hey - idea? maybe during a low traffic period like idunno.. tues night?? just as a trial??) if the "powers that be" are dead set against the "red v blue" idea, here's another idea --- just go whole hog the other way! F-15s vs F-15s and similarly SUs/MiGs vs SUs/MiGs but what i see now is single homogeneous, our-way-or-the-highway, our-house-our-rules, we-win-you-lose approach ----- i think all i'm asking for is a little variety what harm is there in that? whaddya say??

  10. oh.. isn't this interesting i was talking with some -15 pilots about 18months ago and they were discussing the pros and cons of this -- i wasn't aware the usaf was in the process of actually doing this i think this is probably experimental while there are arguments "for" putting the sniper pods on the jet, there are also some drawbacks.. still, i'm glad to see this went through
  11. i was blown away the first time i saw the wingtip vortices that are actually modeled sure, i'm hoping for whatever improvements they can make - but you gotta hand it to ED, when it comes to visuals, few can exceed what ED does!
  12. now, don't jump on him too harshly i think there is a market for a "notional" terrain however, i think the real world offers plenty of variety and complexity one disadvantage with the real world is.. there IS an objective reality to compare the sim to so in one sense, the devs can never be "completed" because someone could always come around the corner and say "hey, what about..... [X]??" if something looks different in the sim or is simply not included altogether if the terrain is only in the mind of the creator, then they can say this is what it is, love it or leave it i'm not terribly opposed to a non-real-world terrain

  14. you need to be more patient - keep your nose in lag longer when you see aspect +++ you need to make your Gs --- (and yeah.. i'm one to talk! you should see me dogfight!haha)
  15. concur w/ f-111 in DCS its a "must" have if they are to adequately cover the 70s/80s/90s (even if only as an AI)

  17. not sure this is even related - i've only had this a couple times - and this is in the f-15 (i only fly the f-15) but i've heard guys in the flanker report it also.. but i've had a blackout on the take-off roll again, only (maybe) three or four times ---- ever but its an *instant* black screen - then in a couple/few (excruciating) seconds vision fades back in just wondering if "maybe" these issues could be related - seeing as both are FC3 ??

  20. i've made similar statements vis a vis cost of this software what is it "worth" to me? many thousands if it cost that much - what would i do? i would start saving up look - i bought a state-of-the-art rig to fly this software, just check my sig -- how much do you think that cost? in my opinion they should charge $100 at least for each module respect

  22. i have the astro A40 ----- screw broke - now they're worthless oops! they're out of warrantee - solution? pay them $45 to fix it oh, fix it myself? bonus: they're using some screwball type of star-pattern screw with a spike in the middle of it so you need a special tool : / waste of friggin money / hassle to fix even if i "wanted" to do-it-myself......... : / to be forewarned is to be forearmed
  23. hello i just read the other thread about loadouts http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=140532 and that reminded me.. in multiplayer when i land to refuel and re-arm, i press L-ALT ' and i am presented with an interface with a dropdown list where i can choose my loadout i've created several custom loadouts in the SP/MissionEditor - they appear in this dropdown list, but in a seemingly random order in the ME loadout screen, they appear in alphabetical order - therefore, i have gone in and named them purposely so they appear in the order i prefer but in this MP dropdown list, they don't appear in any recognizable order i wonder if the devs would take a look at this and maybe have this dropdown list also appear in alphabetical order - ? i have no idea how difficult this task would be as i'm not a programmer - but i sure would appreciate it and i'm sure other people would probably also find this helpful while i'm on the subject, i have a couple more observations about this interface that i think may improve DCS/MP... 1) i think it would be cool and a great time-saver/effort-reducer if we could press a single button on that loadout screen that says basically "whatever i selected last time, that's what i want this time" (obviously, we've got to find a one- or two-word description for this) ----- so in one single click you can tell the ground crew "just do what you did last time" [ edit --- here's an idea.. how about SHIFT+L-ALT ' ---- which would automatically reload your previous loadout in one fell swoop - completely avoiding that interface altogether (or similar macro obviously, if that key-combo has been taken) ---- what do you think??] and.. 2) finally, (and i couldn't possibly be the only one to be bitten by this): chaff, flare, and (especially!) fuel level sliders ----- in the MP refuel/re-arm interface they start out at the *current* levels (ie.. AFTER you've just flown a mission and therefore DEPLETED) ----- the problem is this: if you aren't aware of those slider positions or if you forget to return these sliders to their 100% positions, those items do not get replenished ----- ahhhhhhh! soooo frustrating! please please please fix this - make it so that fuel and chaff and flare levels are set to default levels (ie: fuel @ 100% and ch/fl @ 50% each) ----- i mean, if we want less fuel, or another proportion between ch and fl, we can still do it, but the starting condition of the refuel/re-arm interface should (try) to be idiot proof (ie.. ME proof!lol) thank you very much for your consideration
