  1. SRS was definitely a great change of pace - thank you! but please don't forget about 80s weekend : ) and then........ 80s wkd using the EvW format would be too cool : ) but like you said, not EVERY mission, not every day, not even every weekend - but yeah, "some"times is definitely cool
  2. yep! that is exactly correct ----- good job guys 8) and yeah, be careful ----- i filed away, seated it back in the throttle, tried it out - filed some more, put it back in, filed some more and you have to do that for both sides (left and right throttle grips)
  3. word on the street is observed performance is better on the same computer whether you would feel compelled to upgrade or not, i do not know - me personally, i wouldn't be happy with 40fps but.. i would definitely wait for 2.0 to come out to make that decision unless you want to upgrade "now" because you want better performance "now"
  4. i've gone in and filed down the piece so that it is a "push through" action that engages the afterburner there should only be one detent
  5. home brew - see my sig build it piece by piece, research each component, make a wish list, look at your budget, do the best you can...... keeping in mind that DCS2 will run better (smoother - more consistently) than the current version
  6. there are several comments here about the use of "inert" ordnance used in warzones we used concrete LGBs in OSW in the 90s - the iraqis would place SAM systems in and around civilian areas - concrete LGBs could take out the SAM site without incurring civilian casualties
  7. yeah, no - that's the "old" version of the HOTAS the new stick in the "C" is the same as the stick in the "E" (has a castle switch) seems to be very elusive..
  8. if anyone knows of where to get the HOTAS functions for the F-15C (post-stick grip update), please share
  9. i seem to see this same phenomenon friendlies seem to readily appear - bandits are.. "difficult"
  10. i may or may not know who the back-seater was ; ) i may or may not have served on his first command ; ) i say back-seater because he wasn't a RIO - he was a surface warfare officer, CO of the cruiser in the battlegroup and thus would be "alpha whiskey" (air warfare, warfare component commander) on deployment and thus got fam flights in the various aircraft in the airwing (interesting note - once jets launch from the carrier, they come under the authority of AW, a SWO on a surface ship ------ funny how that worked out.. i'm sure once they're over the beach they're under another controlling agency but at least for defensive purposes its AW) what i heard was that he went to shift his position in the seat and inadvertently grabbed the ejection handle between his legs
  11. wow - it seems like people clamor for "realistic" -- but when they actually get it, they complain i wonder.. the people who have trouble with realistic flight models, i wonder if they've ever flown even a small GA aircraft ??
  12. svend is right ...it could also be used to cycle away from a hung store, or a malfunction, or a weak IR sensor, or..(?) many things true "missile reject" isn't modeled (yet?) --- current functionality is to cycle to the next type of missile, not cycle through remaining rounds of same type
  13. i think you're going to be down to trial-and-error there baz seems to me nobody knows - or if they've done it, they're not posting (haven't seen this thread?) once you get it locked, why don't you share your knowledge??
  14. warning - if your deadzone is set to zero, you won't be able to engage autopilot i actually prefer my DZ=0 but when i posted here that my autopilot wouldn't engage, i was advised to set DZ>0 ---- AP restored
  15. that's a real beauty! thx for sharing : )
  16. its not just russian missiles : / i have many many tacviews that show amraams never even beginning to track
  17. hmm! yeah, that's exactly what i wanted to highlight in that vid thx blaze
  18. wow ----- the f-14s wings flex (and even swing!) at high-alpha ${1} i would have thought the tomcats wings were too "beefy" and strong to flex much under high-G and.. if they did flex, they would be prevented from swinging - just to be safe and prevent damage nope!
  19. thank you just....... thank you
  20. heard it from somebody who just got one get it while you can! : )
  21. SDsc0rch

    Deja vu

you know, i didn't even SEE that a-10 on the serving tray! i just clicked on it (again - heh!) and just saw it ----- how long has that been there?? (man, something must be wrong with my eyes..)
  22. oooof! that hurt! (because its so trueeeeeee!) : ((
  23. ^^that's right another thing about the "cobra" --- the SU doesn't NEED this maneuver - its already got such a substantial performance advantage that it makes this stunt even more of a joke to consider it seriously as a viable tactic if SU fanboys knew how to fly their platform properly, they wouldn't focus so much on gee-charlie-whiz-bang hocus-pocus buck-rodgers magic wand silver bullet maneuvers to save their bacon they'd just go out and kill bandits
