  1. haha! whatever.. howabout the germans - i suppose they're biased too? The German pilots who flew the aircraft said that the MiG-29 looked good at an airshow but they wouldn’t have wanted to take one to combat. i get it, its all great conspiracy to hold the russkies down
  2. ^^yes! what blacklion said!!^^
  3. thats right - because the truth is the -29 went from being a dog to an actual contender, huh? lol
  4. i would think 4th gen is referring to anything in this latest generation (post-F-4/MiG-23) but isn't stealth i think 4.5 is "modern" in that it has state-of-the-art avionics, has some stealth features, but doesn't fully incorporate stealth (ie.. f/a-18e)
  5. heh! 2xGTX980s SLI'd! *whistles!* even then, i would want consistent 60fps
  6. very impressive
  7. ok.. i don't know whats going on here this is weird................ (taking a screenshot of this ---- just to make sure i'm not going crazy or something!)
  8. very well done *love* the sounds
  9. that's affirm and its troubling several times i've inadvertently been in NAV mode, begun prosecuting a contact, attempt to select weapons...... and i am unable because i'm not in a combat mode - then when i select LRS i lose the lock and have to regain SA on the target ---- this is frustrating and dangerous also, to switch from RWS to TWS it seems the computer has to rebuild the picture - this again introduces delays and is dangerous ----- transitions between RWS and TWS, and maintaining radar locks should be seamless
  10. me too! they're easy to shoot down! >: )
  11. "Beware the lessons of a fighter pilot who would rather fly a slide rule than kick your ass"
  12. we need a full-up DCS level F-15C what we have now is a long-long way from simulating modern air combat trust me, if you could see half the functionality of a real-world light-grey (radar, avionics/HOTAS, missiles..), you would be impressed ---- if its not your favorite flavor, fine i get that ---- but you would definitely want it on your side
  13. guys guys guys! rolling in from 50k* -- approach perpendicular to the runway 8) on the deck, 500kts at 500ft ** as you cross the runway throttle to idle and deploy speed brake, pop-up -- break-turn to reciprocal heading at 1500-ft pattern altitude at 225kts with spacing like so... (yeah, i'm a little close - i like the rwy to be a little more out towards the wingtip..) when abeam the threshold, throttle to idle and flaps and gear ---- make speed 185kts when you're 45-deg from the end of the runway, perch turn: 45-deg bank and 7-10 deg nose down ----- set on-speed alpha to between 20-22 units (yeah i know, i'm a little over - but i started the perch turn a lil inside so i'm having to horse that nose around..) smoothly swing the velocity vector to a point just past the numbers - grease it on... are you flying a FIGHTER? or a CESSNA?? 8) ==footnotes== * roll-in from 50k ft completely optional - but worth 10 extra points ** dash-one specifies a maximum of 6k lbs fuel onboard for OHD BRKs
  14. yeah.. checked that section (page 6-3) unfortunately it doesn't talk about CAS "trimming out" asymmetric loading - it really just addresses spin recovery and departure resistance in fact, to further emphasize the "manual" trimming out of weight imbalances, the dash one explains how to counteract it by moving fuel in the wing tanks - and they provide the formula for calculating "foot-pounds" : / good hustle though..
  15. 80s weekend was a blast! thank you : ) it was a good change - adds variety hope we see it again! 8)
  16. got it ---- pretty decent book recommended
  17. ^^ heh! yep : )
  18. man.. the quality on here is really ramping up!
  19. great post - well said (couldn't rep you)
  20. sweet! looks great!
  21. never i never use it ----- i'd forgotten its even there..
  22. i originally interpreted the title to mean increasing thrust FROM idle TO 100% i was actually *hoping* that's what the subject was : ) i understand rpm increases too slow on the low end its decent on the high end, but rpm responds quicker on the low end in the real world than in the game - from what i've been told..
  23. i attempted the procedure recommended above (turn it ON, fly once, turn it OFF, fly again) there is definitely "more" movement (headshake?) when the setting is in the ON position its my impression that there is headshake (albeit "less") when the setting is in the OFF position if i would make a request, it would be to remove even that small amount of headmovement when the setting is in the OFF position
