TM Warthog Throttle - easiest way to map Slew to Button?
Ant0ine replied to GunSlingerAUS's topic in Thrustmaster
1. Yes, just adjust the axis range of the axis on which the button will activate. In the video I use 0.30 to 1. That is a 30% deadzone, or rather 15% of the whole axis range cause on Gremlin axis goes from -1 to 1. If you want to increase it then try 0.75 to 1 for exemple. 2. In DCS you'll now see a Vjoy joystick, that is the category in which you can and have to map your Vjoy button. And indeed remove the existing binding from the Warthog slew axes. 3. Yes, you can have Gremlin run with Windows and also automatically load a profile when it start or when you run a specific application. You can set all that in the option. -
TM Warthog Throttle - easiest way to map Slew to Button?

Arf.. I had a similar issue, the progress bar hanged at the end. I killed the process and rebooted, the installation was ok apparently. Edit : https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?p=4296378&highlight=reboot#post4296378 -
Mapping TIR centre to a Joystick button
Ant0ine replied to jorgesoo's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Uhm in the TRACK IR software you can map DX button directly. -
That is indeed a bit annoying, you are supposed to solve that thanks to the Target Software. You could also use other software such as Vjoy+Joystick Gremlin which I personally advise over Target GUI editor as it can do more and is easier. Target Script Editor however it still more powerful I think but to make good use of it you must be able to code. :joystick: Two exemple where I map the off position of some switch on my Warthog throttle here : https://imgur.com/a/T7y4gwx https://imgur.com/a/96Hifh7 Cool thing about Gremlin is it won't force you to remap all your control like Target would. It comes on top of your actual Warthog throttle configuration.

When you move an axis or press a button the software will jump to that axis or button to make it easier. If the software constantly jump from one to another that is because your controller have some issue. Make sure all axis are centered (Or wherever there is a deadzone on your axis). You could also disable that option in the option menu. Tools\Options\General\Highlight currently used input

https://whitemagic.github.io/JoystickGremlin/ https://whitemagic.github.io/JoystickGremlin/overview/ Edit : In this exemple I show how to map ministick axes to 4 buttons. The idea is the same in your case. Except you would do it only on a single axis.

I do not know the virpil software much but I think they do have an option for that. Axis to button. If not you could do that with Vjoy+Joystick Gremlin.

Issue with TARGET script
Ant0ine replied to AstonMartinDBS's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
In DCS you could just clear the the Warthog throttle category. Problem solved, for other game however it could be a real issue indeed. I never experienced that issue. Or maybe I did, but I didn't noted that it was only occurring just a few minture after reboot. I can think of two thing, the windows store, and bad Target installation. Target must be installed while no target compatible device are connected : And about windows store problem you can find more info here : https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3925050&postcount=20 Good luck. -
TM Warthog Throttle - easiest way to map Slew to Button?
Ant0ine replied to GunSlingerAUS's topic in Thrustmaster
Hello, no you won't loose your binding, at least on DCS. For other game you might have some problem because as you installed Vjoy, which create virtual joystick(s), the controller order might have changed and if one of your game identify joystick by looking at this it might be messed up. Fortunately this isn't an issue with DCS. I'll do a video quickly to show you to map Warthog slew to Vjoy button as an exemple. Will edit this post in a few minutes to add the video. Edit : Edit : Then in game you'll see a a new column (category) for the Vjoy, that's where you map the Vjoy button which will activate as you'll move your ministick. Remember to remove binding that you have on Warthog throttle category, on the slew axes. -
Each aircraft have different detent position. So for each you have to make a different response curve so that your physical detent match with the virtual detent. Here I explain how I did it for the original Warthog detent and the Hornet. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=250033

Two axis to control rudder axis

I haven't played since while but if that isn't a head tracker issue then you could raise your seat. When entering the cockpit it is too low. You eyes line should be at the good height so that in order to use the backup iron sight you only have to move laterally. Right Control + Numpad / and * by default. It might be possible to change the max translation limit in some file but would probably be "cheating". Too low : Better :

I use HidGuardian through WhiteKnight. https://www.autohotkey.com/boards/viewtopic.php?t=34890 If you use Joystick Gremlin then in order for the HidGuardian option to work (tick/untick a box in Gremlin option to hide/unhide a device) then you want the 13.3 debug version. https://github.com/WhiteMagic/JoystickGremlin/releases/tag/Release_13.3_debug

You can't fix that using DCS axis tuning, in fact we can't fix that all by adjusting the response curve because I think it is a hardware issue/inaccuracy. What I would do is remap my throttle axes to Vjoy using Joystick Gremlin. The idea is that, when you extend your fuel probe, your axes remap change so that only one of your throttle is active. You then remap that Vjoy axes to the game axis that control both engines. I just tested and it work, only issue is that after you change "mod" you must move your axes a tiny bit so that they pick a new value. Edit : Let me know if you are interesting and would like to try this, and need help to do so.

Ability to set Idle/AB/(other?) Detent point.
Ant0ine replied to Ant0ine's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I answered here. -
It is a bit harder.. I do not know the F15C very well, but I just tested quickly and looking at the cockpit instrument I see that my fuel flow increase dramatically at EXACTLY 80% of the physical throw (-0.60 on Joystick Gremlin) of the throttle. With that I can do the curve. Edit : So If your detent is at ~-0.34 as on the Warthog throttle (~66%, 2/3, of the throw) then your curve should be like this :

Vjoy and Win10 installation issues
Ant0ine replied to sobe's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
You have nothing to do normally. As if the only thing you do in Gremlin is remap one of two button, then that is the only thing Gremlin will do. Unlike with Thrustmaster Target. In DCS you could "clear" the Vjoy category as it is mapped by default, but it shouldn't be a problem as long as you don't remap your physical axis to Vjoy axis in Gremlin. Edit : For exemple, let's say you have the Thrustmaster Warthog throttle which have On-Off toggle switch. We all know that those switch doesn't send any signal when we flip them down (Off position). So in game we will for exemple map the Up (On position) of the Warthog throttle switch to the Hook Up command. And to get the down position to work, using Gremlin we could Remap the hook down command on the Warthog throttle switch up position using a macro that would for exemple send the "h" key, or better, send a Vjoy button that you then map in game to the Hook down command. BUT!, we also have to set a condition so that this macro will run when we RELEASE that virtual button, in other word, when we'll flip the switch down, when we'll release the On position. I'll edit with Screenshot as soon as I get finish the update download. Edit : Here we go. When I flip my Warthog switch down it send a pulse of the Vjoy button 1, that I map to arresting hook down. Using dedicated Hook up and down command I'm sure my physical switch will never desync with the virtual switch in the game. Up will always be up and down always down. https://imgur.com/a/T7y4gwx -
Vjoy and Win10 installation issues
Ant0ine replied to sobe's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
In the windows start menu there should be a Vjoy folder with the Vjoy application : C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\vJoy Or go directly in the installation folder and try to run VjoyConfig.exe. Then setup a Vjoy, once done you should be able to run Gremlin and assign stuff to the Vjoy. -
Vjoy and Win10 installation issues
Ant0ine replied to sobe's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
IIRC for me the installation windows would be "stuck" at 100% but not succes message or next or finish button.. I closed the windows, rebooted PC and it worked. Same installation "issue" on previous version of Vjoy btw. -
Vjoy and Win10 installation issues
Ant0ine replied to sobe's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Please see here, Vjoy had to be updated (outdated signature IIRC), so you need a specific version to be able to run it on Windows patch 1903 and +. https://whitemagic.github.io/JoystickGremlin/quickstart/ -
I just tested quickly on my Warthog throttle. No issue here, we can even map F# 13 to 24. Make sure both your mouse software and DCS run at the same "level". I would run both as admin. Not sure to understand the question. It is contextual. If coms menu is closed then sending F1 will bring you back into cockpit view. If coms menu is open then sending F1 would do whatever F1 is assigned to in the current coms menu. It might be important in DCS to make sure your keyboard shortcut pulse are long enough. If you use Target GUI the default pulse delay is 32ms (you can change that by clicking on "Configuration options" in the middle column, at the top). That might not be enough, not sure if those delay are needed for F key but I'm sure it is for certain cockpit button. Such as F18 UFC button for exemple.
