  1. The email of the Korean F-18 developer is: ejectionseat@hotmail.com I think his project is more promising as it focuses on the real F-18 FCS, and not just a nice 3d cockpit. This is about flight dynamics, the way it should be, not like that MS Acceleration crap without a flight control system or realistic simulation of any flight regime.
  2. This one is better, developed by an even heavier ejection seat junkie than me (I know him :P). Hopefully he will add his Mk-14/NACES seat simulation into it. http://ejectionseat.com.ne.kr/hornet/f18.htm combat enough?
  3. Is that an AIM-1225 SANTRAAM? Or is it the secret Soviet R-2512 DEDUSHKA aka Grandpops KGB funded missile copy of the SANTRAAM?
  4. The Ka-50 ejection is not that violent, the G loadings are quite low, not your normal 16-18 (20-22 on others) vertical G loads, something like 6 G for the K-37. Passing out would be unapropriate. The 3rd person view is fine, as long as the ejection sequence is improved from the earlier movies, in which the pilot actually had some kind of air powered Nazi ejection stool. And hopefully we can blow away both side panels, like in the real deal. Please don't make the mistake (IMHO) EECH made by not allowing to change the view during the ejection, now THAT is an immersion killer.
  5. Same applies to low level high alpha passes with fixed winged aircraft, all you can hope for in such situation is that you have something explosive directly under your arse.
  6. Here's the vid on the Tor, never knew an OSA-AKM shot down an F-117 during the first gulf war. http://it.youtube.com/watch?v=fhNVYkYXjxQ&feature=related Listen to this one, the sound of a screaming day.... Or Topol-M doing its scary thing for peaceful purposes.
  7. Same here, actually, it would be more fun and less of an fps hit to be able to choose dx 8 rendering, like in FEAR perseus mandate (which sucked, but heck, I had 40 fps). I don't care about Eagles, I care about Dynamics ;)
  8. Look at this one, it even has a short video showing the Tor/Kinzhal missile in flight from the missile itself (or at least, you see how the control surfaces work). Pretty badass piece of kit IMHO, it's no Starstreak, but it has more range and is probably also effective against maneuvering targets (Black Sharks :P).
  9. Yeah, some insights into the Rubicon system would be nice, as well as different flight regimes that were mentioned in this thread. Good idea.
  10. Why is the barometric altitude changing from -50 to -200 before returning to 10 meters?
  11. Yoink, http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=fb3_1178974309 http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=1a9_1179704508 (0:54) BTW, I always thought the 'dispersement' was an excuse for the inherent inaccuracy of Gatling guns, due to the barrels rotational moment acting on the flying bullet. If it's 'designed' that way, why not include this 'Pinpoint/Area' switch then ;) Same lane as the whining about the 'low' rate of fire of the Gsh-30-1, which is half the weight of contemporary European designs, and has a 30% rate of fire, and is accurate. Poor lazy and conservative Western weapon designers use this propaganda to sell their own stuff. The Ka-50's autocannon is a powerful beast, but also keep in mind it has a minimum 10 round salvo (or was that only in high speed firing mode?), which is meant to counteract the accuracy.... Riiiiiight, it's meant to ensure multiple rounds hit the same target, not for spacing.
  12. Su-28, to hell with all that armor and pylons, we want an aerobatic AFM bird, with realistic operating costs (yes, the Yak-130 would be a wet dream come true, BUT, a bit classified). How's that for an add-on? Basically your Su-25T minus the heavy armor and the pylons, weapons and all the crap that takes up weight to facilitate that stuff. OR ED could realease some AFM tweaking tool for Flaming Cliffs, and let the modders do all the moddeling, while the hardcore simboys will tweak the flight models to suit their performance needs. And the Su-25 can't be used to carry long range missiles, so whining from online gamers, who constantly b**ch about cheaters and other paranoid crap, will not be justified. Su-25 tweaker tool/command line/.lua/whatever for Flaming Cliffs plz :P
  13. You can add ground based EWRs that will datalink you the enemy positions.
  14. And another thing is certain as well: It will crash some day, lets hope there will be enough video and photo material before it does so, and as much of it possible from when it does. It's a damn great model, but it's unique, so it will either fly safely and end up in som private collection, or it will be a burning heap of wood and metal.
  15. Okay, some little faq on the s-25 and s-24 S-24 Length: 2330 mm Span with stabilizer: 600 mm Launch weight: 235 kg Warhead: 123 kg of which 23.5 kg of High Explosive Maximum velocity: 413 m/s Launch speed: 3.6 m/s Active trajectory: 250 m Time of rocket motors (7) operation: 1.1 seconds Time to get to 1000 m: 3 sec Maximum effective range: 2000 m Maximum CEP of launch range: 0.3-0.4% of launch range Maximum rotation: 450 rounds per minute The rocket has a shaped fragmentation warheas capable of killing infrantry at 400-700 meters from the impact point. S-25 There are 2 most used S-25 types, namely the S-25O with a fragementation warhead to defeat infrantry and soft targets. And there is the S-25F, with a blast-fragementation warhead. S-25F Diameter: 340 mm Length: 3310 mm Launch weight: 480 kg Fuel weight: 97 kg Max flight speed: 550 m/s Max effective range: 4000 m Warhead: 190 kg, 27 of which are high explosives S-25O (the model of which is used in Flaming Cliffs) Diameter: 340 mm Length: 3307 mm Launch weight: 381 kg Fuel weight: 97 kg Max flight speed: 550 m/s Max effective range: 4000 m Warhead: 150 kg, fragmentation type with a preset (on the ground) radio fuse, 5-20 meters burst heights are programmable. On detonation over 10000 fragments are formed. This rocket was always controversial, as its effects were deemed inhumane by most of the officers in the Soviet and CIS airfroces. Thinknig about the fact that the S-24 can kill at 700 meters, one could make the assumption the S-25O will be farther than that, maybe 850 meters, as it has a bigger warhead. P.S., it has been 4:20, so, well, you know, Jah Rastafari, peazz
  16. Dudes, im baked right now, and I see it too. Peace
  17. Hahahaha, that's going to be my homepage http://www.arrse.com/wiki/Chinook Where do I apply? Tough decision to make IMHO, but I'd go with the smoke screen duty, as that will greatly enhance the experience and the long guard shifts. http://www.arrse.com/wiki/Queens_Ganja_Rifles http://www.arrse.com/wiki/The_Queen%27s_Cannabis_Smokers
  18. I would say the blades have a very low intertia moment due to composites use. A wide chord, well, your perfect autorotation stoppers. Would the thing be able to land at 200kts let's say both rotors in the forward position? Dual engine failure in hover=pancake, dual engine failure is flight= delayed pancakeing. They should have chutes for all crew memebers in that thing, better yet, only cargo transport tasks and a reintroduction of the dual ejection seats up front.
  19. Simtube, lol, somehow it reminds me of Sim Heil, which was a masterpiece. To see Hitler being pissed off about FS X is just wonderful, and all they did was add subtitles. Man that was a masterpiece. The Simtube vid is cool too, just becasue it has AC/DC as background music, and with them crazy Aussies even a video of a talking turd is cool.
  20. There is a video of ka-50 pilots in Chechnya praising the Ka-50 and telling all the other flyboys were jealous at them.
  21. it basically splits the image in sections and gives each section a value, according to contrast. Modern systems actually recognise targets by comparing them to 3d models in a database (which is cool).
  22. Whooaaa, keep the non-essential chat to a minimum, remember, it's a stalinist regime over here, you don't want your browser being followed, and the next day your firefox.exe/ie.exe being buried somewhere in a forest before it was molestered and gangraped by trojans. The reason they're screaming is becuase they're on the ground and have little or no feeling of safety, I mean for the same matter a hellfire can impact the next second they are done with bomb planting. Aircrews seem to have a cooler head, either the trining, personality or combat situation allows for that. When looking at ground warfare footage, hearing 'take that motherf-ers' is not too uncommon of a waycry. The insurgents have faith as a means to bind them together, so they use 'allahu akbar'. The funny thing is, all Middle-eastern religions (Christianity, Judaism, Islam) started out as a Mesapotanian story about their gods several thousands of years before the bible appeared, so technically speaking (ignoring all the crap the clerks made up to statisfy their needs over the centuries) all religions literally are the same, and none of them was 'first'. Google for enuma elish. But seriousely, comparing an aircrew to ground troops is a bit unfair, the latter usually can hear eachother without any equipment, so unless the insurgents will get some kind of noisy machine, they have no need for comms etiquette. P.S. all that insurgency crap is not religious at all, just an excuse for rich Saidi/Syrian/Emirate sheiks to recruit gunmeat to fight a hobby war against the people that buy their crude oil (not only the US), and never mention their activities because of that.
