Still the 'old' HUD symbology, no fpm, nag nag. Why do you think a fpm is better than all the seperate parameters? I mean it's better to know the seperate parameters than to have some computed vector. Ofcourse adding a fpm is a piece of cake, but it seems to clash with the design philisophy or training routines. So the 5th gen plane will have some multi-core linked network architecture, about time. Oh well, at least we'll see it on the latest Chinese fighter ~1 year after the first MFI prototype takes flight :s

Compared to $60 add-on packages made with freeware tools and released as soon as possible so the fans can go all 'wow, I can turn 10% of the knobs in the 3d pit', while still having a 'hypothetical' flight model. I say let the chopper come and blast away those FSX flight models. BTW, you don't get real working weapons in msfs(I don't count those 'explosion effect' mods).

Maybe 4, but I'm not sure, I like the AFM too much, even though the su-25T is piggy as hell. The F-15 is not sleek enough, just like the mig-25/31, has some kind of retro look to it. Don't like the curves, sorry. But once you're inside the pit, it doesn't matter. I fly everything, even the Mig-29A.

I've seen it on tv twice, nice documentary. BTW, do you guys still try to convince friends that flight simming (be it combat or MS FS) is more fun than other games? I stopped doing that 10 years ago :/ Flight simming is not a great conversation subject either, so I hardly tell anyone that I like simming.

the HD series Seenheisers are very good on the bass. I have HD 415 myself, nice response, depth of sound is good too, lower tones are put up nicely (for such tiny speakers compared to 'real' audio speaker). I did have a cable break, or some failure inside the headband, dunno what, everything seemed fine, no visual wear on the cable, anyway... I returned the defective one, and got completely new headphones from Sennheiser in 3 weeks. Now I'm using them for 2.5 months without problems. If you want audio quality, don't go for the 'multimedia/microphone/USB' versions, those things are meant for VOIP and hearing MSN bleep. I'm always sceptical when somebody says such a small speaker can give reasonable audio quality, but that is just impossible, larger cone diameter=better low level.

This may sound strange, but it's just an observation, maybe some chemistry involved. Yesterday, I remember using 3 devices that hold a battery of some sort. My 4 years old wireless mouse (2xnimh, 650mah AAA), a Sansung cell phone, Li-ion, and an mp3 player with 1.8' tft screen (li-ion, presumably). The mp3 player was slightly less than halfway full, the cell phone was critically low (had 1 out of 3 bars the whole day long). My mouse, at the end of the evening was in need of charging too, according to a lighting up LED. Now, the strange thing I noticed that this morning, mp cell phone had 2/3 charging bars, and still has them (~10 min talk time), the mouse was in no need of charging (it wouldn't charge) and my mp3 player's battery indicator gave an almost full indication (5/6, or 7/8, dunno) after having played music for ~20 minutes. I got puzzled by this, since I didn't recharge those devices (the rechargers were entangled in lots of computer cables), so I can rule out sleep walking :p Maybe there was some EM-storm (solar flare?) yesterday, that charged up my accumulator-based devices? I just discovered that my digital cam, working on two penlite ni-mh sticks is half through its charge, yet when I last used the damn thing it wouldn't even come on. Can ths be attributed to som sort of temperature differential, or is my CRT screen producing some interferrence? I don't know where to post this, feel free to move it to the tech section.

did some testing, and we have every right to, launched an aim-120 from an F-18 @ 18km and 3200 kph in outdide view... The missile accelerated briefly, but soon slowed down to 3400 kph, until the motor burned out and it start going slower.

Same as using software to automatically aim for the head and press 'Mouse 1' in first person shooters.

So.... You don't use ECM is lock-on, since it's horrbly undermoddled? ECM in lomac only denies ranging, nothing more, you don't see the radar system go AWOL and target like 20 targets within a second, you don't have false targets appearing all over the screen, you don't have missile seekers being jammes, it's always either perfect HOJ or some notching fluke. Besides real ECM systems don't continiousely transmit, they only transmit if the bandit locked you, not before then. Same goes for missiles, so they can't lock on your 'continiousely transmitting' signal. So we need to trash the ECM system all together, if it's that badly moddled, why use it? Use terrain masking instead (that's porked too, but heck). The only thing ECM is good for is ground pounding (SEAD-esque missions).

Now the thread will explode, and its burning hulk will come crashing down, like in EECH2, oh I mean EECH1+texture pack.

The best thing ever are ingressing Su-25Ts with their IR jammer on, you can sneak up on their asses, fly a couple of meters below them, and then tease them with 30mm fire.
