  1. Not everything in this guide is accurate but it's an interesting initiative at least.
  2. I wouldn't bother with engine icing if I were you. Right now the atmosphere in DCS isn't simulated realisticly anyways. It acts as if it were always saturated in water, giving you icing warnings even though you're flying in perfect clear conditions, far from any visible moisture.
  3. Just bought the L39 and Kursant campaign after watching some videos. It definitely seems like good quality stuff.
  4. I'm with you on this.
  5. You have to understand that developers want precise and documented information. They need numbers to base their work on. They can't just re-program the F-5's engine behavior with a general idea.
  6. Hi, I have noticed a little discrepancy on the Hornet loadout page. We can load MK5 rockets on the outer wing stations but not on the inner wing stations, unlike the other rocket types (including the heavier zunis) which can be mounted on both. Maybe that's how it was intended but I can't think of a single reason for it. Also notice the typo with the LAU-61 (19-rocket pod): it should be written M151, not MK151. Thanks.
  7. Hi, Just a little issue with the IFEI brightness knob. It used to work a few months ago but now it's not working anymore, we can't turn the brightness up or down. I've attached a track. f18 ifei brightness not working.trk
  8. You guys didn't get it. I'm not talking about modifiers here, I know what they are. Maybe I didn't explain very well... sorry if it's the case. I will rephrase it. Basically right now, toggle switches on your HOTAS act as button pressers if you bind them the normal way. To avoid that, and have them work as toggles, you need to use the "special for joystick" list of bindings. The problem is, what's available in there is very limited as you can see in that thread for example. To avoid being limited and bind anything you want, you can always do some lua programming as shown right here. But it's complex and time consuming. I'm asking that we get something that allows us to do just that but in the user interface so it can be quick and simple.
  9. Hi guys, Right now DCS doesn't allow the user to take full advantage of HOTAS toggle switches as we are limited to what's available in the "Special for joystick" section. For example I can't use my rdr altm switch on my Warthog to toggle between baro and rdr altitude in the Hornet as it's not available in the list. I know we can edit some .lua file and add it manually but the process isn't quick and convenient at all. So I would like to suggest something to the devs. Instead of doing things this way, why don't we have a check box in the key assignment window that, when checked, makes it work as a toggle? Something that says "only when key is pressed" or "for HOTAS toggle switch" or something like that. This way the user could effortlessly set anything he wants, for any aircraft. Also the devs wouldn't have to waste time adding a "special for joystick" binding list for every module. I've made a picture in gimp to illustrate exactly what I mean...
  10. I agree, a dot would be better.
  11. According to this recent thread, you can bind any keyless module purchased on Steam to your DCS e-store account. You do this by linking the two accounts together. Hornet is keyless so it will work fine.
  12. Indeed, pre-release drivers are usually far from optimized. It's looking promising for AMD. I'm sure this card is why Nvidia want to release their next genaration as early as Q4 2019 - Q1 2020.
  13. Another topic is the ability to dispense countermeasure with the master arm off. The related thread is no longer accessible. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=224904
  14. Simple, F/A-18 Hornet. It can do everything.

I'm pretty sure they will implement it later down the road. Probably when the new aircraft carrier comes out.
  17. Will try that. Thanks!
  18. Affirmative.
  19. Every time I went for a refuel with the newly released KC-135 MPRS, I've noticed the wingtip vortices were misaligned, like if the wings were bigger than they actually are.
