  1. DCS updater just said there was an update but with an earlier version number 2.5.4.28840 than the 2.5.4.28841 we got last Friday. I checked the changelog and it does not mention anything about it... Was today's update something done by mistake?
  2. I agree with the OP here. They really went overboard with the reflections. They made everything shiny, even the oxygen hose. It's a bummer because the other aspects of the cockpit work are extremely well done.

  4. Thanks for making a great guide once again!
  5. F-5 cockpit looks perfectly fine to me. I think there are other priorities like the A-10C or the Ka-50 right now...
  6. It's looking much better now indeed.
  7. Most of the Nevada map is quite high above sea level so even if you're not high above the ground, you can still be at a relatively high altitude already.
  8. I wanted to make a thread about ground power a couple of weeks ago. I haven't figured out how I'm supposed to get it to work properly and if it is fully modeled yet. I saved a track of me testing the system and trying to uncover it's oddities if anyone's interested. f18 ground power test.trk
  9. I'm using the latest Open Beta but I couldn't tell you when the issue began to pop up. I've been away from the F-5 for a while, just came back to it since about three weeks ago.
  10. I flew one of the missions in the BFM campaign today and had the issue right after startup. I had not even started taxiing and couldn't left click to recage. I've also noticed that during flights where the problem is present, the ADI has a lot of trouble staying tied to the actual attitude of the aircraft and drifts a lot. Here is a track showing the issue right after engine start. (sorry, couldn't attach directly to the post, file is 30mb)
  11. From what I've heard on Youtube so far the Tomcat sound is great in general but there are a couple minor things that annoy me. For example when the canopy gets shut, it sounds like you're slamming your kitchen's door or something... Also when you light up the afterburner, you get a roar inside the cockpit (just like in the Viggen by the way) and this is a sound you should be getting only when hearing the plane from the outside, not from the inside.
  12. I'm already dedicated to flying the Hornet and I don't want to wander off too much. I'll be buying the Tomcat eventually though.
  13. Classic Hollywood nonsense.
  14. No way I'd spend 1k on a throttle that would be a complete rip off.
  15. There isn't one on the real aircraft so the answer is no.
  16. You need to fine tune your graphics settings. I have 1080 ti as well and I'm not getting any of this double vision / jittering issue. I'm running a PD of 1.0, terrain textures to low, Civil traffic off, water to low or medium, visib range to high, heat blur off, shadows high, msaa x2, anisotropic filtering x8, terrain objects shadows to off, clutter/grass and trees visibility sliders to the minimum.
  17. I don't see what's the problem, brakes work fine. They make the planes decelerate reasonably well but you can't expect a 10 ton aircraft to slow down like a Ferrari either.
  18. I had the same issue but got rid of it by deleting the folder F-5E-3 inside <YourName>\Saved Games\DCS.openbeta\Config\Input\ and redoing the bindings from scratch.
