  1. Twelve years and counting. That is for a sim that spent most of its existence as a attack helicopter, and close air support sim. I sorry but our patients is a little thin. It's not like we're asking for a full fidelity F-22. Or even a new capability. We are asking for generic NATO, Russian, Chinese, and maybe insurgent infantry. You have machine gun infantry, and RPG, infantry, and Rifle infantry. It would just be nice to see the right uniforms through those really good targeting pods we have. Look I love what you have done with DCS. But as great as some of the modules are we need a believeible and engaging environment to fly and fight it. For the attack helicopters that means troops.
  2. While I agree with you on every singa point. I think you should break that up. It's like you have four big wishes here. 1. Which I don't really understand what you want so please elaborate. 2. More infantry 3. The ability to preload aircraft, and ships, maybe ground vehicles. 4. Add kill crew to Artillery units. Each of those deserves its own thread a d discussion.
  3. Exactly, some old school armor killing. Mavericks, Rockeyes, and the Gun. I know it's not the latest and greatest capabilities that some people want, but I believe it would be fun. Also think of the type of campaigns you could make. It's entirely possible for a pilot to have flown from 1990, to 2015. We could have a campaign covering all of that, and including the different versions. This is the advantage of different models of the same airframe. It lets us truly experience these birds as they were. So much work is already done. FM, Basic cockpit, radios, weapon systems, and most systems, It's already there. Yes there is still some work, but it's already in at least an Alpha state, and I would argue a decent Bata state. Seems like low hanging fruit. And I do bet it would sell. Or even make it the free aircraft. A full fidelity A-10A would be a much better gateway as to what to expect with DCS then the FC3 Su-25T. And people will download it just to get the A-10. Let them mealt a tank or two, doge a SAM or two and click on all those systems. There is no way they won't want more. But just my opinion.
  4. I don't think armor suppression is a thing. But it would he nice to have it for the infantry. We are going to need better infantry if the Apache is going to shine. But temper your expectations. DCS started as an attack helicopter sim. They've had 12+ years to add things like suppression, or any real ground AI at all to the sim..
  5. <profanity> that. I've seen them do like three updates in a week before, and DCS gets monthly updates most of the time. No but I would pay a reasonable one time price for the core.
  6. Yeah, this is becoming a continuing theam..
  7. So question, since you brought it up. The A-10C has by far the best wingman interaction. I tested it today and it's actually working. But the helos are terrible. You can only give the AI proper instructions. Will this ever be incorporated into the helicopters. Honestly it needs to be an option for all aircraft with an air to ground mission. It works in the A-10C and it's pretty good. That would be the best example I can give of the kind of interaction that we need at minimum. Also will these improvements you mention be only for the Apache. Or will all the helicopter gunships get them?
  8. It was a glitch. My internet here isn't really good. Thank daddy Elon for Star Link. But it was a glitch.
  9. I mean that's all good, but can't really be a good flight lead if we can't designat the direction they attack and egress from, the weapons they use. Whether or not they attack from the hover, or even what they should attack. So unless the whole Ai is getting overhauled, I think it's a valid wish. Plus who says we can't fly smoothly. I see no reason at all to believe that Ai wingman will improve with the A-64. You've had since 2009 to get helicopter wingman right.
  10. The problem is you need all of those above valid points taken care of to have a decent DC.
  11. Really? Heatblurs who you hold up as an example. Deka built a whole ass asset pack to go with the JF-17. Heatblur took two years to get a single ship.
  12. Personally I would make the F-5E the free bird. But I can see a case for the A model warthog. My point is there are a lot of cold War birds coming. So the cold War servers are going to get hot soon. Soon in DCS years. The A model would gut there. Also historically the A actually did the tank killer role. And in any major conflict of the 80s or 90s it wold have been As doing the close air support role.
  13. So this may be a bug, but. As any hunter should know glass doesn't transmit 100% of the light that hits the objective lens. And dawn and dusk are really really hard on optics. It is entirely possible for you be be able to see that something is there with your eyes, and not see it through an optical sight.
  14. You and me both. For me it's F-4E, F-1, A-7E. But I'm really looking forward to the F-1
  15. I bet, I fucking love the C-101. Also IRL there's often more planes then pilots. What we would do is swap you to the spare. Which we can have "cocked on". That would be cool in the future. But yeah this is an area where I think simple is best. I'm just coming back to the F-5 after falling out of love with the fly by wire crowd. I personally love the M2000C, but would like something a little bit less 4th Gen. So I am waiting for this thing. I'm really looking forward to the F-1 more then the AH-64. I can't wait to learn this bird.
  16. The F-86 has this. Problem is who cares if you bend up your virtual plane. The F-14 was going do something similar. But I think it got replaced by a hard limit. FYI I just retired from twenty years in aircraft maintenance. I've actually seen overG over speed damage. I've been in a nice three way debate with an actual pilot, and a engineer that works in analysis. I'm not getting in it again. But overG damage is very vary complicated. It's not just a linear scale. I personally agree with the above. I hard limit is probably the best compromise. So the F-1 is about 7G. Sweet. A better question for the neards is what is its corner speed, and what is It's best sustained turn rate at 5000 ASL. Will stores being ripped off be modeled? God that needs to have needs to be a thing on all models. The maxG isn't really a big concern. The only thing I will say is it wouldn't matter if you land a repair. Structural damage isn't really something you would be able to repair on a quick turn. Hell it's not something you can repair I theater. The kind stress damage that will cause wing separation are depot level repairs if they can be done at that. You can talk to the F-15C community about that. As for bent wings, I've know a few jets that had to have there flight controls rigged to that a warped airframe into consideration. And that's the problem with the whole thing you can't accurately model it at all. You need some kind of system or people will just put the stick in there laps. Personally I like the idea of say 140% of max equals a break. Another good addition would be to sat start subtracting points from that pecent for every hundredth of a second over the rated max G. Is it 100% real no. This is something that can't really be modeled.
  17. It's called being a troll.
  18. So the wings shaping off at 11g is unrealistic then.
  19. Honestly so many of the switches move, it wouldn't be too far off. I'm sure it's Shikvl works the same as the one in the KA-50. Radios are the same too. Flight model is already an AFM, or PFM. I'm Not sure these days. What else is there that isn't modeled. It would be awesome. It dose all the air to ground things things. And for the old timers like me it would be nostalgic. The Su-25T kinda started it all. It was the first jet after the break with Ubisoft. It was the first AFM in Lockon flaming cliffs. It really was the first glimpse at what ED could do. Before DCS ED had planed a project called Tank Killers. When the Apache releases it will be mostly complete. It was the Ka-50, the A-10A I belive, the Su-25T, and the AH-64. That's almost there in full fidelity. Really just need the Frogfoot. And it would be nice if they would do the A-10A FF too. I'd buy that day one. But getting an FF Su-25T would really make it happen. So yeah Egale Dynamics pleas consider making it happen.
