As an old timer can I just say I agree with everything you are asking for. And it's nice to see someone wanting aircraft that can be developed. I belive there is some reason the FC birds can't be full fidelity. I know everyone wants the latest and greatest. But I really want to click switches in that A model flanker. Plus as you pointed out we need some mid to late cold War jets for the Cat to hunt.

Just give it the same voice that the Ai wingman for the Mi-24 have. Please, the voice of the Ai wingman sounds horrible.

I'm not even talking about the big overhaul to Ai. But changes to the way the Ai we have. I know a lot of people play online but my understanding is the vast majority play single player. I'm one of those primarily singal players. I love dcs it could be much more fun. So some easy stuff. One totally revamp your commands file. At the vary leas every aircraft should be able to tell its wingman to attack Tank, Artillery, and so on. The Hornet uses the generic attack ground targets command. That is really unacceptable. It can literally be fixed by a simple edit to the commands file. Another thing is we should be able to give Commands to any members of our flight. Several jets won't let you contact 4. Again it literally an edit to a file. Now a little more complicated. Make those advanced commands the A-10 has work. Then make them available for all helicopters at and close air support aircraft, at the minimum. Preferably for every aircraft that can carry a bomb. Speaking of Ai helicopters they need a way to tell the Ai to ether attack from the hover or from forward flight. So for example you should be able to say Comms menu, Attack, trucks, from hover. Or attack, Trucks, with gun, from forward flight. All helicopters in game would drastically benefit from this. Now even more ambitious. Let the Ai report what it sees. Instead of only getting the what and a direction can we ask for a report? So two would say something like three tanks moving east. Along with that we need a report status. So we can build situational awareness when we don't have a data link. The best we have now is the "check". But I'm suggesting something like flight, statuses, Three engaged, two bandits. There are two many times when my wingman is fighting for his life and I have no clue. Just this would allow our wingman to be the asset that they actually would be. We coukd have them them perform there attacks from a safe direction. And being a good lead would actually become a useful skill.

I cannot agree more with most points made here. The AI is the #1 limiting factor to my enjoyment of DCS. The whole dame thing needs an overhaul to be honest. But there is a lot of low hanging fruit to be had.

Would be a day one but for me as well.

I've been playing with the helicopters we have alot lately, and some things are sticking out to me. The AI Wingmen aren't calling out contacts. They're tactics suck, in the Mi-24P at least. I can creep up on a healy defended target. But as soon as I try to have my wingmen do there thing they climb up into Sam hell and get annihilated. I have no idea if they have the targets because they don't call it out. They won't attack form the hover even against heavily defended targets. And they have had a few mid air just trying to creep in. We need all the options with them in the Hind. We should be able to have them scout forward. To assign them targets and tell them what wepons to use. They should at least mimic the flight leads behavior. Aka if we are low and hovering, or running in to attack on the move. All the helicopters should have the same options as the A-10 honestly. And they should work. There are alot of single players out there. And having a good set of AI Wingmen that can both assist your mission goles, and allow the player to sharpen his skills as a flight lead is kinda a must to truly get the most enjoyment out of DCS. One thing I would like to suggest is having an option to have the AI engage while remaining in formation with the flight lead. As well as the option to send them out on their own.

Yeah the missile update thing is annoying all around. But it's nessasry, and we will all be glad that did it once it's done.

not planned and not realistic for version Agm-84 Harpoon
FlankerKiller replied to Byly's topic in Wish List
Honestly, if/ when they ever get the F-16 we have in a good state, we need to put the pressure on for an A model, and maybe a 90's C model. I think we could get it too. Not for free mind you but there really isn't that much more ultra modern stuff to do. I think an A that can carry Harpoons would do well. New capability, and awesome pure Kinematics. -
In DCS or IRL?

Add chaff and flare dispense to the event handler

Yes. Something has changed since about five years ago. There was no way to approach an S300 on the deck an not die. Yeah you could get closer but not within five to ten miles. And it took at least a full four ship of SU-25Ts to even think about putting down an S300. I took one down yesterday with a Harrier.

Us one for me.

not planned and not realistic for version Agm-84 Harpoon
FlankerKiller replied to Byly's topic in Wish List
Obviously the block 70 is out. But, and F-16A block 20 shouldn't have that much classified information. Also I think you misunderstood me. Heatblur has stated that it will offer different versions of the F-4 as separate models. I'm assuming with some kind of discount for owning an F-4 already. ED has already done this with the A-10. That is what I'm proposing. Aircraft like the Viper have had such a long and varied service life that they could never be properly represented by just one module. -

FlankerKiller replied to Byly's topic in Wish List
The real question is could a Taiwanese F-16 be modeled in DCS? Now that Ed and Heatblure are opening the door to multiple variants of the same airframe it would be really cool to have some different Vipers. Once the one we have is finished of course. -
For myself it's not a question of is it still guiding. It's did I hit that tank? Petrovitch has a nice magnified optic he should be able to tell much sooner if the missle hit or not. Or if the target is destroyed or not. It's pretty crucial info when you're driving into an ever more dangerous environment. Having a target destroyed call out would let me make the decision to pull off or press the attack that much sooner.

Future of DCS complex modules, thoughts and opinions
FlankerKiller replied to Devil 505's topic in DCS Core Wish List
The Parry has been with DCS since it became DCS. It's also been modeled in another detailed simulation. So the data should be there. And it can act as an EWR, a mobile SAM site, a surface combatnt, and maybe if the capability was added an ASW platform. I suspect its unlikely to get good systems data on an AEGIS equipped ship. -
not realistic Will the FA-18 get more CBU's ?

My understanding is they share alot of systems. It would probably be more accurate to say as far as it pertains to DCS they share a lot of systems. Also thay are similar aerodynamically, again as it pertains to DCS. It would be alot of work for sure. But ED could cannibalize the current Hornet for alot of it. So not like starting at zero. Plus more people would probably be willing to buy a super the another legacy. That being said if I was going forward into the forth gen thing I would buy anything that got me component Jester like AI. That being said the Apache is the last modern aircraft module I buy. Unless they make and F/A-18A or a Desert storm C, or an F-16A, or an F-15A or Desert Storm C. Or an A-10A, or a Mig-29A. As mentioned by the troll above there is just too much guess work on anything after the early 90s.

So Hoss, you were in fact trolling. Sad thing is I actually agree with you about the Hornet and the Viper, probably the Jeff too. I'm not even going to waist my time on the Erofighter. I think that Eagle Dynamics doing anything more recent the Desert Storm is actually bull <profanity> for the exact reasons you listed. That being said you come on a wish list and imply/ask about a jet that if you weren't a stolen valor prick you would know wasn't in any way possible to model. That is the very definition of being a Toll. And al a dick. F-2 pointed out that there was as much, maybe more info on a early Super Hornet then the Hornet that they did model. So if the data is there, or enough of it then ED could do it and it probably would sell. Your <profanity> post was basically a slap in the face. Also stolen valor isn't ok. I have friends who's lives are fucked up, who's body are ruined, and who's families are estranged. Friends who are haunted by seeing colleagues maimed or killed. Ether by enemy action or by accidents. People who do serve in the military do often pay a very high price for there service. Even if they don't see combat. It's not the kind of thing you brandish about while <profanity> posting on a flight sim forum, just so you sound cool. Now with all disrespect <profanity> off, if you don't have anything meaningful to add to the conversation why don't you just keep your fucking pie hole shut. Respond however you want I'm done with this whole conversation.

That's not really a bad thing. Just offer it at a discount if you already own the current Hornet. As usual Heatblure is already leading the way on this. So no matter what Hornet someone buys they will pay full price once. If there are a lot of systems in common. And the FM is similar then ED can "cannibaliz" the the current Hornet to make it. Gulf war A model, current C model, early Super Bug two seater with a Jester like AI would make a lot a nice line up. There would be something for everyone, and most true Hornet fans would buy all three. Pay base price for one, and get a discount on the other two.

As an actual retired airmen it baffles me that you, as a retired seamen, don't understand classified information. And apparently don't understand what DCS is supposed to be about. While there has been some fudging in the last few years, DCS is supposed to feature modules that are declassified enough to simulate all systems and aircraft performance. Look at the ongoing work on the AIM-54 for an example. As retired Navy, and retired Boing you know that many important systems on the jet you ask for are classified. So no way to even get close. ED would have to guess at best and make stuff up at worst. On top of that there would be no way for the community to verify anything. So again you must be trolling right. Or would you have ES abandon every core principal that it founded DCS on to bring a fantasy plan that resembles the on you want to life? So in sort he asked for that one because it can be done.

Your trolling right?
