Mission Editor Top User Requested Features
FlankerKiller replied to NineLine's topic in Community News
A wether forecast tool for dynamic wether. It would be great to know what the wether will be over a given area without having to go into the simulation an see for yourself. -

I windsock in the ME. So when using dynamic wether you can see exactly which direction the wind is blowing on any spot. Useful for knowing which runway is active, and what way the carrier should be steaming. A search and engage in zone advanced waypoint option for sam sights. Would give us fire zones, which would in effect give us no fire zones as well. -

The ability to set jets on alert. Basically like a cap waypoint. But will be sitting at the closest parking to the active, and only launch when something to attack is detected. The AI already starts up fast, but maybe half that time to simulate the jet being prepared before hand. So basically you would place an aircraft, select it's mission type as alert, and then set the parking option as alert. The Me would then place the aircraft in the closest parking spot to the the active. And it would sit there. Until something was detected in it's engagement area. I could see this as useful for the CAP, intercept, and CAS taskings. -
I hope for a V as well.

AI, without a total overhaul of the AI single player is pretty much dead.

+1 for sure.

Turn into the wind for recovery, and launch.
FlankerKiller replied to FlankerKiller's topic in Wish List
I'm aware of that. My issue is we already have a bit of dynamic wind. It's why I use the dynamic weather generator. Hitting wind sher is at 30,000 is a really cool effect. But it can make getting the boat into the wind a real pain. So I would say it's already much needed. I'm actually very unhappy with 2.7 as a whole. Some things are great. But mostly people are over the moon about some clouds. There are so many little issues like this that remain unaddressed. ED has always come through. But we need to keep the pressure on. -
Turn into the wind for recovery, and launch.
FlankerKiller replied to FlankerKiller's topic in Wish List
God I can't believe this isn't included. It seems like such a simple triggered action. I hear some of the concerns but carriers operate in blue water, and even the PG isn't that confined. Turn into wind for the launch or recovery, then turn back to current way point. I exclusively build missions with dynamic wether, and honestly not having this makes the super carrier really hard to use. My understanding is this in normal ops for real carriers. Come on ED do better. -
I'm a single player. And I have not found a way to make this happen. If I'm a retard feel free to let me know.

I think all naval units should be able to do EWR

Couldn't agree more. Maybe one day even model the AGE being pulled away.

My god me too. I for the life of me do not understand why they choose the vary late war. They could make a fortion trickling out early war aircraft. Early BF-109, Early Spitfire, P-40 which is my favorite ever, JU-87 because fighters are fun, but bombers win wars, SBD-3, Wildcat, the ZERO, Early Soviet fighters, the PE-2, the IL-2, the list goes on. Drop like one a year for warbird prices. It's an untapped gold mine. And the planes were more balanced. Also the play style fits DCS better. After 43 it was mostly using the heavy bombers to crush the AXIS industry, and trying to intercept them. In the early war aircraft war used in combined arms campaigns support the Army. The fighting was often right over the battle field.

Sometimes it dose. Sometimes not. It's a gamble for ED. I fear there logic is that people won't buy it if they can already get the same capabilities in something else. I would buy it in an instant. But others may say I've got enough. Or what dose it do that the F-16 doesn't. Plus some people only have so much money. Sure, but why pat $60-$80 for a jet that you don't use?

What DCS features do you like to see on a future?
FlankerKiller replied to Silver_Dragon's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I for one want better AI across the board. Better, realistic, Air to air combat. ATC, and AI responding to them. Better ground AI. Way better ship AI. Particularly ships that are closer to jets in there AI. A ship has counter measures, it will position itself to place it's defenses to the thret, they will pursue targets, and run from threats. -
First time I hear more modules to choose from is problematic and FF F-15 would change nothing in mission design. It's about modeling specific airframe to fly and operate fully not about someone's dream of DCS balance. EF is in the works - you can't stop this. The issue is they can be a bit hard to learn. And they are very hard to make. So if a new jet doesn't bring something new with it people might just not buy it, as it doesn't bring any new capabilities.

Bring A-10A up to "near" A-10C DCS standard
FlankerKiller replied to Andrew8604's topic in A-10A for DCS World
But then that's kinds the point. This iconic aircraft would have all relevant variants available. Hell sell it as a super pack the way Heatblur did the F-14. You could fly the Hog actually in any phase of its career. You could build campaigns where you start off in an A, and "retire" from a CII. I do believe that it would be worth the investment for ED. -
While tanks were a bid part of WWII, the grond war was mostly fought by infantry. We now have riflemen, and that's great. But we need automatic riflemen, Light machine guns, AT troops, and preferably rifle grenades. This would make ground battles way more complex, and allow use to do CAS as it was intended.

So I posted the late F-6. But I really believe that the B-25 is the most needed. It gives us a bomber. It suits the maps we have. Its fast and agile enough to be fun. It would have awesome multiplayer potential. Depending on model it can do attack, or level bombing. There are planty of still flying examples.

I don't disagree that the F-15C is going to have a market. But Razbam is doing that one. The thing is the F-15C is just sitting there mostly completed. Or kinda completed. All Flaming Cliffs jets are. It's FM is already PFM, its engines are modelled, it's DM is modelled, the exterior is modelled, the weapons are modelled, the interior is at least in a good open beata state. There is a good bit of systems, and subsystems that need to be done, but ED dose that for a living. The biggest issue i see is exactly what i just listed. You want to fly and fight this thing you already can for like $15. But you can never truly learn it. DCS is as much of a flight simulator to me as it is an air combat game. I've spent my entire life around these aircraft, and i love them deeply, except the Viper. Fuck the Viper, the real one not the ED product. DCS is a chance to peek behind the curtain so to speak, to see how the other half lives. So yeah, absolutely would pay full module prices to be able to do a start up on my favorite fighter ever, to click the radar on and off, to pager through the MFD, to click the different radar modes. But would the average DCS player? Or would thay just buy the FC3 one and go air quake? No one knows, and Its a big gamble for ED with no good answer. So yes ED I wish you would please make my dream come true. But I understand why you hesitate.

Obviously everyone is going to have there own pet ideas about how this should be done. But with the focus shifting back to helicopter warfare it really really needs to be done. Much better AI is almost a must if the Hind, the Kamove, and the Apache are going to be truly engaging. And having a living person drive a decently well modelled combat vehicle would be really interesting. Also it would pave the way for more modules. I for one would play the hell out of a M-1A sim, or a Sherman Firfly, or a Tiger, or an M60, especially an M60, or a Bradley, and the list gose on. Especially if i had a decent Ai to fight with. So yes, i would be all in.

[REPORTED] Please improve command for AI wingman
FlankerKiller replied to opps's topic in Problems and Bugs
Agreed, the AI needs some serious love. -
Go read my thread on getting Desert Storm era Hornets, Viper's, and Hogs. The "Modern red air" crowed came out with pitch forks. I still stand by that too. Once there completed I truly believe DCS would benefit from having the 4th gens that actually would have been involved in a "hot war". But it's apparently a very unpopular opinion.
