Ok, I would then check that its not something in your save folder causing problems. Not sure what to look for exactly, maybe remove all the files in that folder and see what happens, but back up the save folder first, that goes without saying I reckon. I am just guessing though mate, so this may not work at all, but worth a shot. This folder btw: C:\Users\username\Saved Games\DCS

Have you used any mods before this?

I dont normally care about updates all that much unless something is really broken, but I am really looking forward to this one. I like the Mi-8, I hated it at first, I thought it was a stupid chopper, but once you understand it, it rocks.

Do you have easy comms enabled in the options, that may be the problem, although thats just a wild guess.

Thanks for this post Flagrum, I have been trying to figure out what the big deal is with this rudder trim thing, now I understand. As soon as I started using an FFB stick I found that my helo flying skills improved dramatically, specifically the heuy, damn I struggled for ages to learn how to fly that beast.

I just played around with it for a few seconds the other day, its doesn't seem to be an "autopilot" like say the a-10 has, its like the flight director on the KA-50 it seems to me. it provides steering cues in the HSI (I think its its the HSI anyway), so you still have to fly it manually yourself. I might be completely wrong about this, which is likely.

I think the best way this would work is like they do with Bilsimtek or those others, let some third party design maps for the world and sell them as modules. Seems like the logical way to go about it, but I don't what ED's business model looks like to be sure that would work.

Small bit of advice if I may, be gentle and precise with your stick and collective and rudder movements, otherwise she will feed you your ass faster than you can say doh! Difficult chopper to be cutting your teeth on I reckon, good luck.

Thanks mate. Are there other such documents flying around, for the other aircraft. You post seemed to imply there is. I have one for the A-10, but none of the others.

So it doesn't cook the engine then in the sim when you do that? Because I usually see flames on my startup but everything works as normal, lol, thought it was just how it works, I will have to check out what you mean then.

Yeah its not too bad actually, the flight model is crap, but the rest is pretty cool, love the GPU modeling, that was an awesome idea whoever thought of that. I wonder if that could be modded and used with all the aircraft when you want ground power, instead of the invisible fairies that come and give you ground power and fix your aircraft.
