I have found that if I set my player's aircraft to any damage level apart from 100% then all sorts of havoc ensues. My player won't spawn sometimes, even though the mission loads, sometimes my player will spawn but the AI aircraft won't that's on the same airfield, sometimes myself and everything else will spawn and sometimes nothing will spawn including myself, and sometimes I cannot contact the ATC, its just not on the list, if I set my damage back to 100%, then well everything seems to be just peachy. So what am I doing wrong or is it a bug in 1.5? Only just tried with damaged player aircraft since 1.5, so I am not sure if this happened in 1.2.

Thanks for the 1.5 update Ajax, any possibility on incorporating a change coalition option for missions set up before 1.5. The old coalition change mod does not work with 1.5.

Does anybody know what the triangle on the outer ring of the barometric altimeter is? I have highlighted what I am talking about in the attached screen grab with a red circle, I can't find any info on it, Pg 53 of the manual does not have an explanation of it, in fact it does not even seem to show it. Any info would be appreciated.

Yeah I would also like to know this, I am down to one activation after upgrading and then a system crash, and I haven't flown the campaign either yet, I have a another system upgrade coming soon, so this is a concern.

Yep you right, it seems to be the new Nvidia driver causing havoc, not sure why, busy looking into it now. I forgot that I updated that driver too at the same time as the win updates, I have fresh install of windows now and as soon I install the latest Nvidia driver, windows desktop manager crashes. Now I am using an older driver 353.82 and seems to be fine. I got that driver from win updater. Not sure what an HQL driver is, I will google that.

No, my system was fine but it seems to be a win 7 update because now my whole system has gone down, it wont boot into win at all, and dcs stopped working after an update which I only realized when I got a failed update message and then did a reboot. I don't use a restore point so I may have to reinstall win again if I cannot find a workaround.

Tried all the usual stuff, repair and chkdsk, removed my mods, deleting the save folder, nothing works, I even deleted that file and repaired again, still no go, any ideas apart from reinstalling obviously. Win 7 64bit, 8gig ram, SSD drive, and few other odds and ends like a graphics card, 750TI.

Are you sure you know in which directions the MiG radar detects, it has blind spots all over the show. I got this somewhere a while back, not sure if it will help you. Also if you download Chuck Owls MiG21 Guide it shows you where the radar is effective and where it is not.

When I see them going up like that then I know that I have a firing solution close at hand, I get quite a few kills when they do this, I dont always make it, sometimes I stall, but yeah they do it pretty often it seems to me.

I just aim for the runway, if I hit that and survive, I am happy. But thanks Rykane interesting info mate.

I think thats caused by the .miz file having a snapview.lau, server.lau, view.lau and snapviewsdefault.lau in the /config/view of the .miz file. You can delete it and see if it changes things, open the .miz and delete the config/view folder, use a zip program to explore the .miz file.

Not sure how freetrack works but with facetrackNOIR you have to copy a dll file into the dcs/bin folder, headtracker.dll, perhaps freetrack has the same problem. I would switch over to facetrackNOIR through bro, out of all three of them, opentrack, facetrackNOIR and freetrack, I had the least amount of headaches with facetrackNOIR.

Not sure I understand what you mean but I will have a go anyway, I never touch the throttle during flight. Not sure about the emergency thingy.

Yeah thats a pretty good idea OP, the tail draggers are difficult to learn and frustrating, I reckon if we had a trainer for them it may go a little easier, although it's a bit late for me now though. I like the T-6 idea, that makes a lot of sense too, the pilot of the Old Crow Mustang trained in a T-6 if I remember correctly.
