Because Nvidia came out with the 352.63 direct X 12 driver, I thought I would just try and see what it looked like playing DCS World on my pc. I could not ever get the launcher to work. I tried Compatibility mode for win 8 and nothing worked. I know that DCS is DX9, but I was just interested. I have heard that others have used DCSW in win 10 so I dont know where I went wrong ?

I cant even get win 10 to get DCS to start up. Hope this is fixed sometime soon for me, but I have already spent many hours messing around and installing and its just crazy. I dont remember the code for the fail but a "repair" did not fix it. I did not try to run win 10 dcs in compatibility mode ?

I spent hours last night looking for a certain flight sim I used to play on my Amiga 500. I finally found it....Fighter Duel 2 pro was the name. When I think about the enjoyment I use to get playing that game via modem against some friends, I now crack up, as the graphics were NOTHING and when I look at what DCS World has, I cant tell you just how much I appreciate the fact that its so real feeling now. Thank You all so much for all of your hard work and I am really looking forward to new planes and 2.0 !!!

I used to love playing fighter duel online back in the early 90's. I bought an Amiga 500 in 1988 and purchased every single flight sim there was. I had gotten out of flight sims and started playing FPS games but ever sense I found DCS world, that is ALL I do !!!:pilotfly:

The F4U Corsair and then the P-61b would be my favourite choices for upcoming new WWII planes.

Not just the mouse but no sound and no hotas or rudders either. The thing that ended up allowing me to get it to work was to go into the option panel and make the resolution larger and leave full screen off. Now I get the entire three screens full of dcs and its back to normal again. I did not fly for a few days and it was terrible to try so many different things and not come up with an answer.

I also cant get my mouse to work when I try to click on the Dora to open up the circuit breaker cover or anything. I did a " Repair DCS " and it did not fix the problem. Left Alt C just makes my screens go crazy because of the trackir5. Not sure what to do as it normally works just fine ???? I did not change anything that I know of. ******************************************************************** So I switched from full screen, and everything worked ok. Of course I crashed the dora, but nothing unusual there. So if I take off full screen, the edges of my three monitors dont have any DCS and that does not look good. I guess I will have to look up windowed mode or some other thing as I cant get DCS to let my mouse work at all if Im not out of full screen. This has never happened before, and I dont know why its happening now ?

Thank You all VERY much for all of the help. I was reading in the manual that the emergency power button can be used for take off...... I have not tried that but I will just for the heck of it. I am getting a little better and yesterday I landed ok for the first time !!! I really appreciate the help as I really like the Dora ! I was stationed in Schwetzingen, West Germany from 72-75 and I liked Heidelberg very much as I was use to college towns like Yale in New Haven. I am determined to get better with the FW-190D and practice is what helps !! auf wiedersehen

I had no idea that DCS World was not using DX11 already ? Its been around for so many years now, I am sorry that I just dont understand why 2.0 is not going to use higher end tech as I have spent close to 3K building my PC and when I was introduced to dcs world about 8 months ago or so, I went out and spent a lot of money buying a hotas system, Pedals, and a Track IR5 so that I could play to the best of my physical ability.......... Why would the makers not want to allow people who have high end machines get the most out of them ? I understand that the flight Sim market is not big, and to make money you need to get as much of the flt sim community involved and interested, but if they are using old computers that the OS system is not even supported very much, it just bewilders me why tech that is over 6 years old is considered modern for 2.0 I will take what I can get and be happy with what you offer me, but soon many will be buying VR gear that is consumer release rated and will really benefit from the most tech advancement that DCS World can offer. I dont know much about programming and I know You all work very hard to give us the best that you can, and I do appreciate that very much. Clear Skies !!!!

I was wondering about any future support of Direct X 12 ???? I am using two old cards (( evga 680 04g-p4-2686 )) and Ive read that DX12 will help my cards run a little better ? I cant wait for the new 2.0 !!!! Thank You for any info on this.

Sorry I did not get back until now. I practice and practice, believe me. After watching some youtube videos, I tried to let go of the joystick and just let the dora rise up on its own. What happens most of the time is that I flip over to the left side and crash. I used to do that in the mustang when I first started out, but now by keeping the stick back and to the right, I dont ever crash the mustang anymore. Ive been told that the PING rate of a server can have an effect on takeoff. I have all assists turned off, and have now for over a month. I have tried messing with curves on my joystick and dead zones thinking that it was too sensitive and causing me to over compensate. Now I have just gone back to stock, with no assists on. I try and watch my speed to be within the limits, but Im just not doing so well and I wont give up, but it just very frustrating. Im not even doing that well in single player anymore, but its much better then multiplayer, at least I can take off once in awhile. I read that someone had changed something in the lua file that had to do with left wing going down. I have tried slow roll and build up speed, I have tried brakes on and 25 rpm and full throttle and it seems going faster is a little better. I really like the Dora a LOT and would like to fly it more in multiplayer and I just need to find out what Im doing wrong. Ill go fly and capture it and be back with what Im doing so you can see. I find that I can take off once in awhile when just in single player practice. As soon as I go to multiplayer, I crash almost every time. I start getting better, then I just lose it again. When you sit here for hours and just crash, the time it takes from crash to restart drives me crazy too !! LOL !!! I do experience that rolling over to the left and My wing touches, but I do not think I am leaving the ground yet when that happens. I started to mess with curves and dead spots, thinking my setup was too sensitive and making me over shoot or something, then I just put everything back to normal. I have to try actually letting the stick go and see what happens ! I wont give up, but I do remember the P-51 did the same thing to me and once I learned to have the stick back and to the right, I never crash on take off anymore. I will have to read the manual again myself, although Im sure you covered it here with all the reading I did. Thank You for the advice and help. Mike

Have you checked your main BIOs to see if MB has any new ones ? I checked mine last night and was surprised to see they had new upgraded ones that I did not know about. Give that a try. Also video drivers too ! Good Luck

Ive been trying to RMA my hotas as its busted, and its been 10 days with no answer back sense they asked me for my home address and I sent it back to them ( the home address, not the hotas) NO RMA number and no anything to help me.

I had thought that they were marking rockets. Darn.... Oh well, I still cant get them to work ? OK , I came back to let you know I got them to work with red smoke, but I have to keep the button pressed all the time in order for the smoke to come out. Is there a way to get the smoke to stay on ????? I wish there was actual smoke marker rockets too !!!

I wish I had a million buttons on my hotas so that I would not look down to push a button on my keyboard and CRASH ! LOL I have planes just vanish as well online, and they were not shadows. I guess PING rate has a lot to do with how well things go, so I try to only join severs that are 90 or under. The new DCS World page is nice. I downloaded the beta version for the first time and tried it out, did not really see any difference except when I tried to do multiplayer, my three screens would stop and only the middle one would work. Then If I quit the sim, My screens were like very different and I had to "switch user" even though I am the only one on my pc. I deleted the beta version today, but at least I gave it a try. I sure do enjoy this Sim !!!!!!!!!!!

questions about how to run the beta version Im sorry but Im confused. With the release of the new dcs world new format, I saw the ability to download the beta version, so I did. When I am in my reg DCS World, the first opening screen says: 1.2.16.38741 ( I updated today ). When I go into the open beta, none of my purchased planes or jets are there. I also dont see how to install them. When I look at the version number in the Beta, it says the same thing my reg version does. I figured its the same program as I upgraded today, so I went into programs and features and was going to delete it, when I saw Version 1.28 listed there. So I did not delete it, but I would like to be able to fly more then just ..........just thought of something, I can try a repair, and hope it will know me ? Thanks for any help !!! What is new in this version by the way ???/

There are so many things to learn. Not just about the mods but the settings. Aspect ratios, curves best suited for brakes and throttle and most of the time, My weapon release button wont work for some reason. I just downloaded the new version and for the first time, the open beta. I love this flight sim and its the BEST !!!!!!!!!

I am from Connecticut and really dont have much of an accent. I would be willing to help with this project.
