  1. Hello everyone, I am having a go at my first reskin trial on the F-15. For some weird reason, I cannot find the texture (*.psd) or layer where the USAF roundel displayed on the wings are located? When my wing texture (*.png) file does not have any roundel, the roundel (low-viz black outline) still appears in game/modelviewer. I succesfully replaced the roundel on the nose template, however there seems to be no layer for the roundel in the wings *.psd files. If anyone has a suggestion I am very thankful! Below is how the texture file ( *.png ) looks and how it appears in modelviewer/in-game. The low-viz version is on top of it, but where does it come from? Ahhh...
  2. I agree! Also a seperate keybind for activating formation lights. And a fix for the bugged main IP lighting please. And if this is ever possible... would be nice to be able to see the variable intake position of other Eagles (in MP)...
  3. As the title says, it is very much appreciated. I love it! Thanks for keeping updating the Eagle!
  4. +1 would be nice if we had a seperate key binding for the formation lights
  5. I noticed this as well. IIRC, after startup firts move the control surfaces to their limits (like a preflight check) and then try to deploy the speedbrake with "B" - that worked for me most of the times that issue came up. Just a wild guess, maybe the speedbrake only works after enough hydraulic pressure has been established? Don't know if such a thing is even modelled for FC3 models...
  6. AFAIK, dusk and dawn lighting effects on clouds are being worked on.
  7. Hornets over Marianas - real life!
  8. Hello everyone! I cannot locate the textures that are used for the virtual cockpit, I would like to make changes so it reflect the black ejection seat colors of many great liveries already available which have the seat in correct colors. Despite using these skins, the seat color in the virtual cockpit is still grey Any help much appreciated, thank you!
  9. I have the same drop in average FPS. Could it be caused by the new cloud shadows on the sea surface and the new sea surface visual variation?
  10. Hey Roughmaster!

Here's a link to the lo viz 480th patch. Hope this helps!

      Hello Roughmaster,

I just noticed on your haveglass skin for SP 96-0083, the "Warhawks" red band on top of the starboard side of the vertical tail is mirrored. Maybe this can be fixed sometimes.
I love your skins I hope to see more Spangdahlem Vipers from you in the future, such a great job you do there!

      Best wishes,
      Rafael

      Hi Rafael,

Are you sure you downloaded the latest version of the pack, ie the 7-pack? I've fixed the mirror issue in that one, and I hope 7 skins (of which two with dynamic borts) are plenty 🙂

      Cheers

      Thomas

Ah, ok, thank you! I will download the pack once more.

      Have a great weekend!
      Cheers,

  11. Hello BIGNEWY and team, I tried to get hold of documents showing the flap/aileron retraction scheduling, I got close however unfortunately these are part of CFTO (Canadian Forces Technical Order) and are not publicly available. I am certain "FightsOn" input above definately comes very close (or right on) to what I am observing regarding this subject. I can only refer to a lot of online available video material showing this as evidence as of now. Here's also a good example with a Blue Angels Hornet, so it may become clear its not a Canadian Forces FCS thingy only and rather applies to all Hornet models. You can clearly see it between the 1:10 and 1:18 minute mark in this video (even the thumbnail shows it)... I hope the team may have a closer look at this. Love your Hornet module. Thanks a ton!
  12. Had to share this here... wow!
  13. It would be very cool if we could hear that brief high pitch sound when the nozzle is quickly closing when the throttle is advanced from ground idle to MIL or AB.
  14. All options are of high interest. I voted for Cloud and Weather improvements though, it takes DCS to a whole new level of immersion...
  15. Something to spike the F-15E hype a bit...
  16. Ok. I will search for more information on this. Thank you for looking BIGNEWY, much appreciated!
  17. Dear ED team, from all my observations in real life and videos, one interesting fact about the flaps retraction sequence is that the ailerons retract more slowly than the inboard main trailing edge flaps from a FULL/HALF to AUTO position. It seems to me this is not simulated in the DCS Hornet. In this video you can see it clearly at 5:25 min. Now I am no expert by any means but I suspect this applies to any Hornet A to D model to even out lift distribution over the entire wing and sort of compensate for the structural wing twist starting at the wing fold line to the wing tip (4° nose down). Any thoughts on this? Thank you for looking! Note: I really love your Hornet module! Thank you!
  18. I concur. Similar impression here. Rumble comes alive after left engine start, audible with canopy open too. And don't get me wrong ED team, I love love love your Hornet. If its realistic, I am all for it.
  19. Hello gents and gals! It is quite embarrassing, but when it comes to hardware of PC's I really have not that much knowledge. So if anyone can point me in the right direction I will be very glad to listen to any feedback. So... I was given this "surplus" PC by a good friend of mine a few months ago because I was still running a much older PC with Windows XP. Now with that nice upgrade I immediately installed DCS World as I had pre-purchased the Hornet already back in 2018 and really wanted to finally give this a try DCS World actually runs quite well on this new (by my standards) machine, I have full shadows on and except for heavier scenes the framerate is ok and it runs smooth with the occasional microstutter here and there. The specs are a I7-3770 CPU @ 3.4 GHz, Windows 10 64 Pro, ASUSTeK P8Z77-V Deluxe motherboard and a Nvidia GeForce GTX680 with 2GB (yes, it can handle DCS ok) So after installing DCS World I did not have that much disk space left on this machine, not enough left to install the Open Beta of DCS but I really want to do this badly as I am in total love with the new weather update and reallly want to give it a try So, in order to solve this issue of too little disk space, I impulsively purchased an Samsung Evo 970 Plus 1TB SSD. Now, as far as I could figure out, I also need an adapter card to plug this onto my motherboard, and here is my question which adpater card I should go for? I believe I have PCIe x1, x8 and x16 slots available but is the SSD even compatible with my mainboard? Any guidance is most welcome! Thank you awesome community!
  20. Nice F-16 dual footage!
  21. The beautiful family versions of your beloved single seat fighter jets.... it would be awesome if these could be added in the future, at least as AI. Thanks for all the hard work!
  22. It would be fantastic if there ever was the possibility if you could provide a pilot model for the Hornet and Viper with this former standard helmet gear that was used for several decades by not only Hornet pilots but also Viper and Eagle drivers around the world! Thank youuuu, ED!
