Hello gents and gals!
It is quite embarrassing, but when it comes to hardware of PC's I really have not that much knowledge. So if anyone can point me in the right direction I will be very glad to listen to any feedback.
So... I was given this "surplus" PC by a good friend of mine a few months ago because I was still running a much older PC with Windows XP. Now with that nice upgrade I immediately installed DCS World as I had pre-purchased the Hornet already back in 2018 and really wanted to finally give this a try
DCS World actually runs quite well on this new (by my standards) machine, I have full shadows on and except for heavier scenes the framerate is ok and it runs smooth with the occasional microstutter here and there. The specs are a I7-3770 CPU @ 3.4 GHz, Windows 10 64 Pro, ASUSTeK P8Z77-V Deluxe motherboard and a Nvidia GeForce GTX680 with 2GB (yes, it can handle DCS ok)
So after installing DCS World I did not have that much disk space left on this machine, not enough left to install the Open Beta of DCS but I really want to do this badly as I am in total love with the new weather update and reallly want to give it a try
So, in order to solve this issue of too little disk space, I impulsively purchased an Samsung Evo 970 Plus 1TB SSD.
Now, as far as I could figure out, I also need an adapter card to plug this onto my motherboard, and here is my question which adpater card I should go for? I believe I have PCIe x1, x8 and x16 slots available but is the SSD even compatible with my mainboard?
Any guidance is most welcome!
Thank you awesome community!
