  1. Well the A-10C is getting adjusted to 1:1 scale with the new update... and I would not be surprised if there are other cockpits that are a bit off. Not all cockpits have been laserscanned ;)
  2. But it still does not answer the Kh-25 story :) Quite far from topic actually. I was asking around for any information about IRL use (test or fielded) of Kh-25. If launching the R-73 is a big no-no, there must have been at least some serious issues with the Kh-25 as it is a quite big and smokey missile. Obviously not the standard loadout. But is it total fantasy? Could it be fielded?
  3. I do understand his viewpoint and frustrations. How can he know that tutorials or documents are not up to date? Not everyone lives on these forums or discord and know what is going on. That said, @DimitriKozlowsky there are plenty of helpful guides and users to help you get a grip on the M-2000C. You actually bought it in a brilliant time as you don’t need to re-learn changed functionality and you get to enjoy all the new upgrades based on real life feedback from the french airforce.
  4. Yes. They are making big updates to Mirage-2000C, but documentation has not caught up yet. Use unoffical documentation like Chucks Guide or read posts on the forum about new functionality.
  5. Is it possible to target objects or structures like bridges or hangars with AI JTAC? I have only figured out how to attack vehicles and infantry.
  6. This is purely out of interest. What is the story on Ka-50 and Kh-25? I have not seen a video or picture of Ka-50 flying with Kh-25 missiles. Some sources states that it was tested but never fielded. Other sources states that the Kh-25 did damage the helicopter itself. We have the ML laser-guided variant in DCS but there are also speculations that Ka-50 could carry the MP and MPU anti radiation missiles. I guess ED team, like Chizh and Yo-Yo has a ton of info about this, but it is very difficult to find anything about real use of Black Shark and Kh-25 online.
  7. Im so ready for that new cockpit! MiG-21bis is still one of the best modules around. Sense of flight, the systems, the overall package. It just need that final polish and some bug fixes.
  8. Thanks for your input, Hiromachi! My memory must be failing me, but I recall some instruments being swapped around back i the days. But it was half a decade ago so Im probably wrong about that :D Over 10000 produced so I guess there will be a number of different configurations.
  9. The good old SPO-10 is actually visible in the video. Right next to the radar buttons. Originally it is placed a lower than we are used to in DCS. From my memory, Leatherneck decided to change it's position for player convenience. A little bit of artistic license ;) Notice the original placement of SPO-10
  10. Why not between block 1 and 2? Deka has access to the real life simulator. It is possible that it is based on upgraded block 1 that has not been fully upgraded to block 2 standards. Or it might be a block 2 that did not get all the updates... While it might bring some confusion, we have to bear in mind that this is a very modular aircraft. A cheap "aliexpress" F-16. There are likely more than a few customizations aswell as "frankenstein" variants that has been updated over the years. It would be nice to know what exact block it is, but at the same time I expect it too be somewhere in-between. Deka have worked on this for years and have access to documents and simulator, so I think they are doing their best to get it as accurate as they can.
  11. Yes, semi-active guided.
  12. Radar: R-3R IR: R-60M Those are the most "capable" in respective category. R-60M is the most modern missile avalible on the MiG-21, turns the best and can hit targets from all angles. Downside is a small warhead and limited range. Other IR missiles might be better against large bombers (R-55) or fighters running from you (R-13M1). But you need to get behind your opponent as they are rear-aspect missiles. Radar missiles - only use R-3R, the other is an 1950s beam-riding missile for use against large bombers that fly in a straight line. On MiG-21Bis, radar missiles won't offer you much range advantage. It is not comparable to a AiM-7 Sparrow or R-27. Think of it as a basic sidewinder with radar guidance instead of IR.
  13. Fantastic video of Croatian MiG-21Bis! Lots of nice footage from the cockpit and the ASP sight. Notice how the fixed net is a bit different IRL. It has a very nice orange tone to it, just like DCS: Mi-8 sight. Making it easier to see the pipper. Hiromachi, maybe something that can be updated with the new cockpit model? :)
  14. I guess BST took some creative licenses when they made this thing years ago, as heat and warp most likely is not specified in any type of technical document. Why would a "modern" F-86F with sidewinder capability have 830 m/s round? Why does the bullets fly anywhere but where I put the pipper? Pipper on enemy aircraft and the bullets fall way behind. Using the radar sight, flying steady, I can see the tracers going all over the place, like a garden hose. It does not correspond with anything I have read or watched when it comes to the Sabre. IRL. Why did they put a radar supported sight on this thing if precision is this bad? :) Devs should (as Squiffys recommendation) tune down the excessive heat and warp. Also have another look at the muzzle velocity of those rounds.
  15. There is a specific reason we get MiG-19P and MiG-23MLA, both versions operated by the main developer’s home country. So while this MLD discussion is entertaining, their choice making MLA is not about capability.
  16. Yes you are right. The heating and warping is excessive. Can't help by looking at this IRL MiG-kill. Shot placementat range like this is not possible with current DCS: F-86F. Around 1:25 Look at the range and hits!
  17. Don't expect A-10C quality. It has more than a few bugs, some inaccuracies when it comes to systems etc. So if you like truly "study sim" level you might be dissapointed. However, if you want vtol fun and you are not too picky about issues, it is a pretty good module at half-off.
  18. If the gun dynamics are considered by developers to be correct (which I highly doubt), then we need to file a report for the radar sight instead. Slow turn or in the vertical does not matter. Pipper on enemy canopy and the bullets fall behind the aircraft. It does not provide the correct lead.
  19. This being a two-seat helicopter, any news regarding AI co-pilot when flying solo? If it can operate weapons like the AT-6 or make call outs for threats and such like a "Jeltsin AI"?
  20. It works well in hotstart. What a difference! The awareness has improved a lot :) A signal for missile launch would be fantastic but I guess that SPO-10 cannot detect that? Anyways, great update! Hope to see a fix for cold start soon.
  21. What happened with the labels? Almost impossible to fly the Cold War jets that don't have IFF or poor radars :(
  22. I agree. People only looking to fly the ”best” or most ”capable” aircraft online is not getting what DCS is about at all.
  23. I recently got a MSFFII and wow. What a great feeling it is flying with force feedback! Some modules work better than others (like the F-14). Not all have the "buffeting" sensation when stalling, but in general the feeling is good accross the board. The sad part is loosing a lot of hats and buttons compared to flying with my Warthog. Will keep an eye on this project, because a high-end force feedback base would be a gamechanger.
  24. Where have you heard that? I have not heard anything about moving FC3 to MAC. MAC is a stand alone product that uses both low and high fidelity modules from DCS but in a lower fidelity and non-clickable fashion. Creating a more accessible "game". Luckily, FC3 aircraft are here to stay. Also update to Admiral Kuznetsov is planned (make sense with the Syria map) Jamming would not really create a big problems in multiplayer. It just needs to be fleshed out a bit more, like possibility of deception jamming with false returns etc. Obviously this stuff is highly classified so a bit of guesswork and artistic license needs to be taken into consideration. But it will be a lot of work integrating all current modules so it makes sense in the DCS ecosystem. How the jamming signals are displayed and counter ECM,
  25. Do we have any type of timeframe of the updates? There has been several newsletters about the cockpit and pilot model by now. SPO-10 changes are also long overdue. And the cockpitglass dragged trough mud. Like when you see MiG-21 on outdoor museum. Almost unusable without a mod. I have enjoyed the MiG-21bis on and off since it was released, still one of my favourites, so I hope that we're not in for another six months of waiting.
