Really cool. Hope that they will implement correct HMS symbology. It should not be able to "follow" locked targets around. IRL it looks very close to the DCS KA-50 sight.

How do I switch off the ARU?
-
I have to agree with Snappy. The canopy is very reflective also the HUD glass up close is scratched.

Is it good to switch off the ARU when entering a dogfight? I always struggle with high AoA. Very difficult to get the nose up on target.

[REQUEST] Monitor removal on L and Mistral
Schmidtfire replied to Schmidtfire's topic in SA-342M Gazelle
There is no 342L. Devs has said that the ”bonus” model in sim is based on 341L Gazelle. 341 does not have monitor for co-pilot. Anyways, I can buy the recon argument for L version. But the monitor is totally in the way on A-A Mistral. I have not seen a video or picture when a Air-Air Gazelle has a co-pilot monitor. -
For consideration. This is only a request and suggestion :) Would it be possible to remove the co-pilot monitor on L and Mistral variants? (same as the Minigun version) First, the L and Mistral should be 341 variants that did not carry a camera/monitor. Second reason is that the visibility will be much improved. The Minigun version has a fantastic view out of the cockpit. From both realism and gameplay standpoint removal of the monitors on these versions makes sense. Thanks for your updates, hoping to see more updates and the OH-58 soon.

[KNOWN ISSUE] AIM-7M F/A-18C & F-14B Comparative Test
Schmidtfire replied to *Aquila*'s topic in Bugs and Problems
Chaff effects are a little simple in DCS. It should mess with radar scopes, radar gunsight locks etc. Hope to see the updated Sparrow soon. What about the AIM-7F variant? Was it ever used on F-14B? -
Thanks NineLine!

Great server! I enjoy it very much. One suggestion is to remove AIM-9X and replace with 9M. It is mostly Hornet vs Vipers now as the other airframes is at a huge disadvantage. Dogfights gets a bit dull as most players don’t survive the merge. With 9M there is a bigger chance to actually dogfight. If I fly Mirage, Tomcat or MiG-19 I can deal with 9M and R-73 but 9X is too capable. Even useing 9X myself it often ends up as a mutual kill at the merge.

TGP Slewing Using Throttle Mini Stick - TM TWCS
Schmidtfire replied to antsh's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
+1 I also have TWCS throttle and experience the same thing. But for me the mini-stick wanders on the FCR page. -
Which direciton? VR or TrackIR+HOTAS for A10C?
Schmidtfire replied to wagdog's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
Go TrackIR+HOTAS VR is very immersive, but at the moment it is a struggle. Performance, clarity, ergonomics... it is the future no doubt, I still use my CV1 every now and then. But flying the A-10C will require good spotting of ground targets. Low level flight impacts performance. It is a very technical aircraft, you need to see displays clearly aswell as a truckload of buttons, switches and labels in the cockpit. Id say start with TIR+HOTAS, you will have a much easier time to get a grip of the aircraft and DCS. Down the line you can get a used (or new) VR headset. I have a really good computer for VR, but it feels like it is always an uphill battle. -
Thanks for the update. High quality work as always :)

To Eagle Dynamics team. Would it be possible to add the new VR zoom and spyglass as bindable views also for 2D monitors? I found them great in VR, but I still often fly in 2D. The zoom speed and amount of zoom is excellent and it would be nice to enjoy it on regular monitor aswell. Thanks!

What sounds are new?

I also want realistic RWR, but it is out of our hands now. It might get fixed in three days, three weeks, three months, three years... This is a multi-year project. Development will ramp up and down from time to time and ED will prioritize product sustainment and new features at their discretion. Couple of years from now, we might end up with a finished Viper. As always, everything is subject to change. Until then, all we can do is report and bring issues to light.

Hi there, hope that a savvy user or Eagly Dynamics staff can help me with this. F1+Left ctrl enable Natural Head Movement. It is a very nice but have an issue! If Im flying and fighting in the horizontal plane the view pitches up and over the HUD glass. Allowing me to get tally on bandit in a curve fight. So far so good! But, the movement does not re-center down to default position when leveling out, The view becomes permanently tilted upwards. Instead of Seeing ICP and MFD's the view sits firmly at the bottom of HUD glass. Is there any workarounds or fixes for this? Thanks :)

Can not get Betty to say: "Chaff-Flare" "Lock" Altitude warning seems to work fine, as does the other Betty sounds but only during startup test.

That is probably because the developers are russians. Russia and other eastern european countries uses yellow tracers that looks very much like those we have in DCS.

You have to realize the module is 5 years old by now. Sporadically updated by a very small team on evenings and weekends. It will slowly deteriorate over time as DCS World continues to update and develop. Almost everything (like games) has a shelf life and MiG-21bis is no different. ED products are a bit different as they have the resources needed to keep their modules up to date as time moves on. But supporting old modules is a difficult task that all 3rd party developers will have to face at some point. I have got some of the best DCS times in the MiG-21bis :) It was the module that got me really hooked on DCS. While I would like to see it in a better state, with long hinted cockpit and rwr updates, I also realize that any progress will be slow or might not arrive at all.

I think that Eagle Dynamics should look into community volunteers. There are many, very skilled artists among us that can make assets like AI aircraft and vehicles. Sadly, those often stay as unofficial mods. If community development moderated well and quality assured by ED staff like SkateZilla, NineL. etc. aswell as some form of signed agreement, I think it is a good way to bring more into DCS World without putting a strain on the ED dev team.
