Is there a way to bind the TGP zoom to buttons instead of axis? T6: Antenna elevation works on the axis page for zoom. Radar Elev Up / Down does not work on the HOTAS bindings for controlling the zoom level. But will change antenna elevation. What am I missing?

I have the same issue. Thanks SkipJack95 for a solution :)

Sorry! I did not mean to answer here. Please move post to JF-17 Bugs and Problems. Thanks :)

The issue: Flying at a solid 60fps (vsync) but everytime I go into AG Master Mode and the radar is scanning the ground the FPS drops to low 30's. It's stuttering a lot  When I disable AG radar the FPS jump back up to solid 60fps. How to reproduce: Airstart at Anapa. Enter AG Master Mode. AG radar starts on middle MFD screen. Heavy FPS drop and stutter. Additional info: I don't know if this is related, but useing C-701 the AG radar screen starts flicker/strobing white. Specs. i7 3.4Ghz, 32GB ram, SSD, 1080TI 11GB. Screen resolution: 3440x1440 No other issues with DCS or its modules in terms of performance.

I binded T1_Forward to my JOY_BTN_POV1_R. It shows up as binded in controls but does not work when using the module! I was pulling my hair for a couple of hours and did not understand why my SD10 was not selected using it. Finally using the 2 key on keyboard it did work correctly, also I could bind T1_Forward to another button on throttle without issue. Seems like the issue is with a POV RIGHT and T1_Forward. It is an eight-way hat if that matters. For reference I am using a fully functional TWCS throttle and Im very comfortable in setting up controls within DCS :)

Thanks for clarifying! At least there is some form of warning :) Looking forward to the release!

RWR could not have tracking/lock/msl warning in MP (will try to fix it ASAP) Does it still work if attacked by AI in multiplayer? Or is RWR not working at all? The MAWS system still work in multiplayer? Thanks for an open and honest list of known issues. Looking forward to the release :)

MFD integration with Thrustmaster MFD hardware
Schmidtfire replied to johnv2pt0's topic in JF-17 Thunder
Sounds like there is room for some new hardware on the market. New MFD bezels in the style of JF-17 :) -
I guess we'll know tomorrow. This is how it performed a couple of days ago. https://www.bilibili.com/video/av77744668 24:02 Edit: Thx NineLine for clarifying

First. Is there any official source on this? Has the SD-10 been deliberately "downgraded" because it did perform as IRL data? If so, that means that tomorrow I might be paying 70$ for a sim module that has been balanced out for multiplayer "gameplay" purposes. I did watch a JF-17 stream the other day and the SD-10 looked really good. The way most simmers expect a modern BVR missile to behave. I hope that accurate data has not been tinkered with to please an audience who does not even fly JF-17. In multiplayer or singleplayer. The way I see it. Its better to make accurate AIM-120 than make SD-10 inaccurate

It works very well. Sound quality as about par with using Discord. Hosting on a private coop server the host (me) had to open TCP/UDP port as per ED instructions. It took a while figuring that out as there are no log messages hosting or connecting in DCS World. Constructive 1: Please add some sort of log messages, so the clients and Host know what is going on. Online we found very few servers using the new VOIP and even fewer players. Of maybe five 16 player+ servers we have so far only found one other player using it. At first it took a while to even realize that the VOIP join was done by left ctrl+shift+tab and not at the select role screen. Constructive 2: Please make VOIP both Client and Host - default ON. Constructive 3: Make it more clear how to join VOIP. Maybe Chuck_Owl can write a small guide or have a small disclamer at the top of his module guides. Once we got going it worked fine. One thing we noticed was that the voice activation was not always a good thing. Picking up a lot unwanted sounds - dogs, answering the cellphone, talking to a friend, TV etc. Constructive 4: Please make so that the Host can set option "force Push to Talk" on the coalition rooms. The casual room between rooms is fine using voice activation I think. But for serious servers that needs clear comms and concentration, make it an option to force PTT. System as a whole works fine. To get more people craving to use it: Constructive 5: We found two more suggestions. One is an optional generic "click" sound using PTT so that players knows what is going on. Not hearing a radio "click" feedback makes it a little more unclear. Did I just transmit anything, did I properly push the PTT button? Constructive 6: Radio filter / voice sound. Not a simulation but an optional filter to get that radio sound going. I know we are getting the real thing down the line, but this would add a lot to the immersion and I think more players would likely be using VOIP over SRS if it adds that fighter pilot radio flavour. At least it sounds right ;) I think that was all for now. Hope that this native VOIP soon takes off and become a DCS World standard on all servers.

Exactly this. Im pretty sure that at least half of the people in this thread fly Viper, Hornet or Eagle and won't even touch the JF-17. We KNOW that the 120 will be updated. Why should Deka make SD-10 to match a missile we know is not performing correctly at the moment? Only one reason and it is called game balance. Not belonging in a sim environment. This if anything might be a good catalyst for ED to actually update their missiles to perform as they should. Not only 120 but R-27 aswell.
-
How is this even an issue? Deka simulates the SD-10 as good as they can with avalible data. ED is working on missile improvements for AIM-120 and R-27 (like they did with Sparrow). It is known that they underperform and will be looked at. It is not a good path trying to ”balance” a sim. Leave that to mission makers. Or should we balance AIM-54 Phoenix performance based in relation of how AIM-120 or R-27 performs in DCS?

Turn on the FD when shooting rockets. It will keep the nose in place. -
2021 (and earlier) DCS Newsletter Discussion Thread
Schmidtfire replied to NineLine's topic in DCS 2.9
Well... I don't know if it is a good or bad thing if its mentioned in the New year newsletter. Might be another couple of years until release. ;) From three years ago: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/newsletters/newsletter29012016.html "We see 2016 as a big year for aircraft carrier operations as we plan to release both Nimitz-class aircraft carrier and Kuznetsov-class aircraft carrier modules. Both of these modules will be incredibly detailed models with working elevators, interior hanger bays, animated ship systems, and the ability to walk around inside the ships. These will be optional modules that would replace the existing ships currently in DCS World." Me like most players are eagerly awaiting some updates on the Kuznetsov. I heard something about the new Nimiz Carrer almost being finished, so maybe after that one? -
Mig-21 Air to Air targeting related issues in DCS 2.5.5
Schmidtfire replied to honeycool75's topic in MiG-21Bis
Im pretty sure it is only for R-60 and R-55. -
Thanks Rudel! Kickass job on the new lights btw :)

I also have a broken radar display texture using the Clear Glass cockpit mod. Hope they fix soon, cause I cannot fly with dirty canopy from open-air museum
-
Not to add pressure or anything, just to point out that this bug was reported about 3.5 years ago now (in April 2016) and still not solved. I do understand that some issues takes time to resolve or the focus is on DCS World or other modules, but this bug has been with us for a very long time.

Maybe ED team should add AP ammo as an option? Discussion and demo video of 7.62mm AP rounds in action: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=255100&page=2
-
As a reference to the video about 7.62mm AP rounds above. In the demonstration video they fire at a target with 18mm armour. From what I can gather the BTR-80 has 10mm and BMP-1 has 6-33mm. A Minigun with AP rounds will do some serious damage to those vehicles. I have a Huey video where a Dillon technician (makers of the minigun) states: "It can fire all typse of standard NATO 7,62mm ammunition. That includes ball, tracer, slap, armour piercing... or even incendiary." If it is a common loadout I don't know, but Huey+7.62mm Minigun+AP rounds are very much a reality.

Sweden: - Hold my beer. Have you ever heard about AP rounds? :smilewink: 3:50 - 7.62mm vs APC demo

New Pay Model / subscription discussion
Schmidtfire replied to MacEwan's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Some people seem to think that a subscription based model would magically solve Early Access and long development times  Worst idea ever.
