So vry sry to lead everyone on a wild goose chase! Yes, now I understand the labeling convention; it is front to back (top to bottom) when I thought the longitudinally-oriented switches/toggles were left to right. Thank you!
I'm excited. My first experience with an F16 sim was with Falcon for the IBM8088 in 1989, so I have been waiting for some time for a high fidelity sim. That it is in VR makes it even more enjoyable :) :)
Since I use VR (and so do a few others around here), it would be less than optimal to look to the KB to shut the canopy where clicking an in-cockpit switch would be the way to do it.
It took me about three hours of practice and then it made sense. I also watched some good training videos. Here's my results:
The videos I found useful are linked in the description :smartass:
I am wondering how I'll do with a boom since all I am able to do now is the drogue. I'm looking forward to doing it in the F16, though...REALLY looking forward to it!
Planes with the most detailed (and possibly un-optimized) cockpits tend to have lower frame rates in VR. Perhaps more should be done to make cockpit detail more VR friendly?
Hi - I tried this in my install of DCS open beta and got nothing, no labels at all :/ I removed the file from the folder indicated above and the labels work as they should. Any recommendations? :joystick:
NB - there is no labels.lua file there prior to copying your file into the folder. Is that the way it is supposed to be? (I looked on two PC's running DCS and founf both the same)
DCS would benefit from a labeling convention where far objects would begin as a dot and gradually increase in size to a full label the closet the object becomes to the viewer. It's a idea that was in SEIII (IIRC), but it's a safe bet that ED could do it with little fuss if they had the will to do it. I've been making this suggestion for a couple of years now.

^ that may be the mod the OP wants ^
I just installed the Aeromacci MB339 and hopped in it for a test flight. I enabled the mirrors and there it was...IMMERSION to the MAX!
@wags - can whe have this for all of the planes? (the body isn't necessary since it gets in the way anyhow)
Get the mod here:

BTW, the frame rates in this plane in VR are VERY smooth!

14% increase in single thread performance for 70 bucks less monies. Almost double the performance for all cores of the 4790. Passmark is your friend...

Matt Wagner mentioned in his video from yesterday that the F16 has a "...cockpit optimized for VR..." I'm curious what that means. Does it mean the labels are larger for better readability (something needed for all planes in DCS)? Or does it mean the model gets higher frame rates? Both? Something else?
I'm also interested in the training missions to be included. I'm curious about the syllabus for that training program...goodness knows I can use more training! :smartass::pilotfly::joystick:
