  1. There is little evidence that Heatblur's phoenix underperforms compared to ED's phoenix currently in the game. Especially considering the C (smokeless variant) and the A Mk2 with the longer burning motor. I think the bigger problem is that the AI cheats and pretty much knows where you are exactly so their radars are harder to notch.
  2. The latest it ends is March 20th. If they are going to release before that, they will announce the date beforehand.
  3. Nice to see Hellreign82 involved with testing the F14. My favorite DCS content creator.
  4. Great video Jabbers! Thank you for including the control indicator overlay. I wish more people would do it when they post their videos. Also, congrats on being included in Heatblur's manual!
  5. I think you are a little bit off the mark. However I do think that it will probably be the hardest module to master, especially from the back seat. Just understanding how the radar works to operate it efficiently will require more than just a read through of the manual. Much. More.
  6. I really wish Ralfi would do another stream where he just messes about with the F14. Would tide me over for at least another week ;)
  7. Likely does not equal confirmed. Please don't pour fuel on the hype fire.
  8. Are you sure it's not just a trim setting? Have you tried trimming the stick down? (I've got a MS FFB2 joystick and don't remember any problems with FFB in the Spitfire, admiteddly it's been quite a while since I've flown it?)
  9. You can't blame Eidur for Wags's comment. Cobra already explained it's an internal date, definitely nothing set in stone.
  10. Yeah looking forward to diving into the manual head first. I freely admit Im not big on manuals truthfully, usually reading parts when I need to figure specific things out. This will be the first time in a looong time where I will probably read the entire thing from start to finish :)
  11. Thanks for the update Jabbers. Does that mean that the AIM54 actually tracks correctly in the game and just the Tacview part is broken or does the problem run deeper than that?
  12. If it's anything other than the Hind, Im gonna be pretty damn upset.
  13. If both fighters had reversed their turns as you suggest that would lead back to a reset of the situation and you would go back to the first diagram. So yeah basically this is done to illustrate how to turn your smaller turn radius into an advantage and an earlier aspect shot.
  14. So I came across this post by Jabbers on his youtube channel: ...and I was wondering what it means exactly? Did ED unintentionally break the AIM54 with their last update and could that possibly be the reason why we are not seeing any more videos of the preview Tomcat in action?
  15. Yeah I really don't get how people complain about the stupidest things. Seriously. If you don't like it, don't watch it! I for one am absolutely "starved" of F14 content and can't wait for more! I mean Jabbers and Ralfi have mysteriously gone AWOL with F14 content for a week now, and Jabber's AIM54 testing series of videos stopped midway. If anything I wish more people would produce content while we wait but it appears that only these three have access to the F14 so far.
  16. That's like, just your opinion man!
  17. I was of the same opinion until I saw these videos of what the Cat can do with CCIP bombs or just it's gun on a strafing run. It's unbelievably easy to use and very, very effective against ground targets. Once I get to grips with it I plan to fly it mostly online, but Im definitely gonna mix it up by doing both AA and AG, whatever is required to win the day
  18. Why? I mean if you know anything about Holy Wags, it's his Mosty Holy of Holy Mantras: "Everything is Subject to Change".
  19. Ask me again after March 20th....
  20.
  21. I realize a lot of the fun is in learning all the things by yourself, but to some people trial and error of this sort borders on masochism. You're right this is a sim. It's also a game. Which means it should be fun, and a lot of us have dayjobs, lives, etc. and can't afford to dedicate hours and hours of our lives studying up to eventually arrive at a point where we can be reasonably confident we can jump into someone's back seat and not ruin their (and our) experience and not have any fun at all... Let me put it this way. In flight school you had an instructor right? Well we're not asking for one here exactly, just something to make it a little easier for us to learn and to have fun doing so.
  22. No you are not the only one. :) I was wondering myself too. I hope we get some interactive training missions to at least get the basics down, though Heatblur have been keeping mum on how these will work exactly. Who flies the plane while you train with the radar? Im sure some enterprising people will put up wonderful training videos once the module hits EA, but I feel it's still going to be a lot of trial and error.
  23. Thanks for that. Was looking for the reason why it didn't pass Eagle Dynamics' muster. Yeah from the Youtube videos the FM looked a little bit wonky, though that is something that could hardly be judged on youtube videos alone.
  24. I won't comment on other engines and solutions except to say that it's pretty much wishful thinking at this point. With that said I do wish that Eagle Dynamics finally implements some better looking clouds and atmospheric effects into their "new" engine, it is IMO the single most important part that is still missing to make this simulation the best there is. In my opinion it is more important than new maps, new modules, or anything else in the pipeline simply because the sky is where we spend 99% of our time in DCS World and while it can look good at times, a lot of the times we do have some weather systems they look so much poorer compared to the looks of all the other great stuff we have in the game that it can be pretty immersion breaking. There was nothing regarding weather updates in the last roadmap that ED have published so I think it is very doubtful we will see anything of that sort in 2019.
