  1. If you have 16GB ram, set your pagefile to 800Mb-1000Mb. I guarantee that you will have less stutters-freezes. It worked for me.
  2. That's not how it works. The Caucassus map needs to be rebuilt from the ground up to work with 2.X. It's not an iterative "upgrade", so to speak, to 1.5. 1.5 will be maintained as it is the stable release version, but I wouldn't expect any big updates to 1.5, just bug fixes and module support. Once the "new" caucassus map is ready, it will be released for 2.5 and support for 1.5 can finally be discontinued.
  3. Exactly this.
  4. Why do you think that the chopper would be moved to the top of the list? Who said anything about dropping modules? And finally if all the 3d modeling work for example (or any other work that needs to be done) is pretty much complete on some or all of those modules, why do you think that the people responsible for that work can't continue or start work on something else?
  5. Yup, just saw that. Thanks.
  6. Ever heard of the phrase, everything is subject to change? :) Seriously, I think Razbam is allowed to change or make additions to their roadmap just like everyone else. I don't think it's beyond the realm of possibility that the Stallion has been pushed up the list. They might have come accross a treasure trove of data for the chopper that would allow them to put it on the list, or maybe they got a licence from Sikorsky to produce it for DCS, or whatever really, etc. etc. Fact of the matter is we have no idea what goes on behind the scenes, and I doubt that they would tease us with something which was already pitched by CptSmiley in another thread, if they were only going to do an AI model.
  7. Oh well. Better luck next week folks :)
  8. I don't think you are getting my point here. It's Thrustmaster's booth, not Eagle Dynamics' booth. The final word on any and ALL promo materials, actions, happenings, twitch feeds, videos etc. etc. etc. is up to the folks at Thrustmaster, not Eagle Dynamics. So the responsibility for any and all missed opportunities at E3 lies squarely on the shoulders of Thrustmaster.
  9. What WinterH said. We will probably be getting the B model first, the A model will be coming later. (According to Cobra)
  10. That's interesting, did the German Armed Forces also field the CH-53E (Super Stallion). Because according to Wikipedia it actually has 1.8 times the carrying capacity of the "lighter" Ch-53 versions...
  11. Happy Patch Day everyone! (I hope)
  12. It might not be up to them. It's thrustmaster's booth, so their marketing "gurus" make the final call. The quotation marks are there on purpose. :smilewink:
  13. Im going to reinstall the Mi-8, just to take a break from flying the WWII stuff. Two questions: 1) The above option, ON or OFF? (Please take note it's been more than a year since I've flown the Hip) 2) Chuck's guide. Is it up again? Can someone send me their copy, if anyone has one?
  14. Now if only I knew how to configure the radio to use it properly ;) It took me like a week to figure out how to use Simple Radio on the Blueflag servers, with the Mirage :) Just joking, is this still the teamspeak sever in use currently: burningskies.voice-server.ru?
  15. Holy crap, I missed that thread somehow. So is it really a Super Stallion? Cos that would be damn awesome! Im a sucker for heavy lift choppers. Really am. (Ashamed that I don't really fly the Mi8 anymore but then again it's only a medium chopper)
  16. Well came accross this while surfing this morning. Interesting. Very interesting. So, it appears the cat is out of the bag, or the bunny is out of the hole, or something.... ...anyway, so I can't really tell from that picture, I would love the Super Sea Stallion, but somehow I doubt we will be getting that, any ideas on which version/variant we will eventually be getting? This is a nice chopper, which reminds me I really need to reinstall the Huey or Hind, and go for a fly in Normandy. :) https://www.facebook.com/RazbamSims/photos/a.316309961788982.75719.316077818478863/1374080826011885/?type=3&theater
  17. Any chance for a cloud or two, or any other kind of weather? Also you've mentioned that there should be different conditions at different times of day, but for me that never changes. I've never seen early morning or late evening conditions on the map.
  18. You are correct. Having a 1080p, 27" monitor, with great contrast helps a lot. I agree that visibility should be hardware independent, if that means a slight sacrifice in the realistic rendering of LOD models, so be it.
  19. So you are making a judgment about the performance of the F14 (a module that isn't even out yet) based on the performance of a module you don't own. Yeah, makes a lot of sense. /s You are certainly entitled to an opinion, however as Cobra has stated, Heatblur are no longer responsible for the development of the Mig21. Even with their best intentions the responsibility for performance improvements, bug fixes, for 2.1 lies with the developer who is currently responsible for the module.
  20. Exactly. If you're flying single player, modding missile loadouts is probably one of the simplest mods you can do in the game.
  21. Please can you post a link to one of those threads? I also have to remind you that Leatherneck and Heatblur are no longer the same developer, so this is a little bit offtopic. Not to mention the fact that you have the option to drop your graphics settings. Instead of doing that, you chose to complain on the forum, in another developer's section, about a module that is still in development.

    Mirage Status

So many differing opinions. I would say they say more about the different people and their views than they do about the module itself. Some people consider an accurate manual to be the most important part of a module. Others are satisfied that the systems work, even without the proper procedures being updated and described correctly in the manual. Some consider the flight model to be really important. Others think that having accurate sounds in the cockpit is paramount. It's all a matter of taste. No simulation is perfect. IMO the Mirage comes close, and will only get better with time.

    Mirage Status

I've stopped flying the FC3 planes because of the Mirage. That's all there is to it. It's my GO TO jet at this time. With that said, Im mostly into Normandy now and WWII planes, so the Mirage is in the Hangar for now. The only nitpick I have is the FM high drag issue at high alpha, which as many have stated will be fixed ASAP, and IMO is not a good enough reason to skip this module. By the time you learn to operate it properly, the issue will most probably be fixed. In my opinion the Mirage has the best flight model out of all the third party modules at the moment (I don't consider Belsimtek to be a third party) even when taking this issue into account.
  24. From the comments here Im pretty sure that most people don't understand how this works. A highly detailed 3d model is sculpted which is then used to create a lower detailed model, which looks almost exactly the same, courtesy of some sorcerous texture and specular map voodoo magic. ;) Suffice to say that the F14 will look great, but won't affect performance as much as people think it will. I have a confession to make. Im more excited about this than I am for Eagle Dynamic's upcoming Hornet. In fact I don't think any other future upcoming module can or will get me as hyped as the Tomcat. I don't know who to blame for that. I think it's a combination of the F14 being the most iconic and graceful Naval fighter jet ever made, and Heatblur/Leatherneck's brilliant work on their previous modules. Yes Im stoked. Im ready for Nevada trials. I don't even need the carrier. I don't even need the weapons. I don't even need to fly her. Even a RIO seat would suit me just fine :)
  25. Yes, also the use of rudder to alleviate sideslip is a big plus. It's kind of hard to do in the Spit, since the rudder is so sensitive. But again curves are your friend here, and practice makes perfect. Im only now getting the hang of it in the 109K, it's taking longer in the Spitfire. Once again force feedback is my friend here, as when I manage to get rid of the sideslip the forces on my stick on the roll axis get equalized and I get to feel that through my stick.
