  1. That was deleted rather quickly. Right now the plan looks to be OB next week then Release the week after if all goes well.
  2. Hmmm... odd that both sticks of RAM would go bad at the same time, I wonder if they tested with known good RAM and everything worked well? Them reinstalling Windows again... while never a bad idea... is a bit lazy on the troubleshooting side, especially if it was a hardware issue as they say all along. Did they ask you before they did it? What kind of power supply is on this PC, sounds almost to me like a faulty/weak PSU? What were the blue screen messages?
  3. For some folks maybe, VR resolution and SDE prevents some (like me) from going full VR, I mostly fly with track IR still. Hopefully when I replace my vive with a Pimax 5K things change...
  4. Yea, youtube comments are a wretched hive of scum and villainy... most of the time they devolve into just random racism. Shame all the attention brought on the trolls.
  5. That's really a shame... probably just trolls out there. But I can understand why you wouldn't want that extra stress in your life. Thanks anyway Greg, at least we got to enjoy it while it lasted.
  6. Thing is, in the sim you can get away with being unfamiliar with the aircraft and there are no repercussions (see Mover going nuts trying to keep formation). So you can do dumb stuff and nothing bad happens. If one of us tried to fly the real thing we could do some real damage to the airframe or black ourselves out doing something dumb. And in that case there are real repercussions. I would trust mover over anyone else here on if we could fly the real thing or not.
  7. I think if the controls were mapped to what Mover was used to (at least as close as we can get with what we have available) and VR would REALLY help with his view of flying in DCS (which he did acknowledge in the video). As others have said... trackir not only takes a lot of getting used to... but also initial tweeking to get it how you like it. Anyway, as I said in the other thread, thanks again to Mover and Bananimal for making the video possible in the first place.
  8. I never suggested there wasn't more than one way to interpret anything. I just find the way some people interpreted this as cringey. Don't see how my statement was cringey, but hey... you can interpret it that way if you wish. :)
  9. Agreed... I have to say this thread has been rather cringey once the "tryhards" came in and started taking things too serious and complaining that Mover wasn't taking this super serious. Thanks Mover and Bananimal for making this happen. Looking forward to part 2.
  10. I think you have to use that to lock things straight ahead of you with JHMCS enabled... Radar as a whole seems waaay better.
  11. Seeing as how stable is just the OB version, they will probably skip any patch next week and OB will happen in 2 weeks. Better to take their time and do it right I suppose.
  12. Some servers might want to ban the HARM. Having the shrike would be useful in that case if you want both sides having a bit "weaker" SEAD capability.
  13. Thanks for the video fellas! Learned something too about the TACAN to see each other.
  14. The whole thing looked rushed from the beginning. Rushed out before raytracing was even in games... The other portion of this entire thing is the impact raytracing has on framerates... this is kind of normal for new tech, but man... less than 60 FPS on 1080p doesn't sound worth it to me.
  15. Excellent stuff as always guys!
  16. While flying online we noticed that the outboard LMAVs still show as on the pylons after being expended, only the player flying the plane sees this, other people in MP don't from what we can tell. Stores page also shows empty. Through_The_Inferno_CCS_v28k_centralIP-20181112-015123.trk
  17. My logbook is really inaccurate but I am sure it is over 100 hours.
  18. I love the hornet just for the carrier landing practice. But it's impressive to see just how long these things take to develop, if we weren't getting the hornet until it was finished it would probably still be 1-2+ years out.
  19. It's as realistic as ED is comfortable getting. As Wags stated in the fighter pilot podcast (worth a listen) they have to alter some stuff due to classified material. Also the damage model is still a WIP. I am sure eventually we will have damage due to overstress.
  20. Next week is the current plan.
  21. Latest from SD's unofficial roadmap thread: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=116893&page=138
  22. https://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=3669278&postcount=165 Looks like they won't make the end of October afterall: "While new Hornet features and fixes like the Joint Helmet Mounted Cueing System (JHMCS), FPAS page, laser Maverick, and corrected air-to-air radar B-sweep are still on track to be ready next week, we need to adhere to our Open Beta release schedule and have time for proper internal-testing of these complex items. As such, these will be released in the next, scheduled Open Beta release on 7 November 2018."
  23. October isn't over yet fellas... this is why ED hates giving any timeframes you all start freaking out too easily.
  24. Cool, thanks Jabbers! I had a feeling you were going to switch, good to get the extra confirmation though.
