  1. Sounds to me like when a server admin bans you there is a message that pops up giving you the reason instead of just being booted back to the MP menu. Lots of other MP games have a feature like this. Not an official response obviously, but that's how it should work imo.
  2. On the Alert 5 podcast they said they want to have the manual out "well before release". Not really sure what kinda timeframe that gives but I am still hedging my bets on January.
  3. They are going to ask for track files.
  4. Wags is a monster! :D I try not to get myself hyped.... but I can't help it when it comes to HARM.
  5. I am also not noticing any change in the flight model... wingman also didn't mention noticing any difference.
  6. Blueflag server has been running on the dedicated server for a while.
  7. On top of deleting fxo and metashaders maybe a DCS repair?
  8. Yep, when I was learning refueling I would spend hours just practicing this until I got frustrated or got better. Every now and then you need to stop and shake out your hand and relax, then try again. As others said do NOT focus on the basket, find a point on the tanker to focus on and use your peripheral vision for the basket. Don't try and chase it at the last second either...
  9. Yep, same here.
  10. For those that can't easily bind this hopefully ED adds something in the "special" options for the F18 so they don't have to depress this button to slew, make it more like the A10C.
  11. Practice man, and don't look at the basket. Refueling might actually get harder in the future when they add basket physics and possibly tanker turbulence.
  12. If I were HB I wouldn't release it before Christmas... don't want that post release stress if something goes wrong during a time when a lot of people want to take off. I bet we see it in January.
  13. Track IR, I have a vive but don't enjoy it in DCS due to the lack of image quality. I have a pimax 5k+ kickstarted specifically for DCS. Once I get that I am hoping to make the move to full time VR in DCS.
  14. I like doing A2G more but when forced into A2A I am... well not great but I get some kills now and then.
  15. Even with it in range it shoots way high, look at the images posted a page back.
  16. This happens consistently to me, I just stopped using the A/G gun all together until they fix it. I would say it may be due to the pipper not readjusting after dropping your weapons but others have said it still does the same thing if you don't take a loadout. Very odd. Always overshoots.
  17. Interesting thought on the zoom impacting the gun aiming point... anyone test that out? If not I will try tonight.
  18. Prepare your speakers....
  19. You can't trust what CPU-Z tells you if you are looking at VID, that is only showing you what the CPU is requesting, not what it is getting. You do NOT want to keep your voltage settings on auto though, since that will sometimes allow higher than "safe" voltages. Change that to manual and find a good safe place to start (I personally I would start around 1.30V but that is for MY chipset), then if you are able to boot into windows run some stress tests (Prime 95 without the AVX workloads, AIDA64, etc) to see if your OC and voltage is good, if it is try dropping the voltage by .01, if it fails up it by .01. Each chip is different so I won't try and give you safe voltages for yours, but for the 9th gen CPUs you generally want to stay under 1.4V (1.35V is even better). The other important portion you want to read up on is LLC, you want to set this high enough that it doesn't droop, but not so high that it allows more voltage than what you set (usually a setting 2 under the max setting). Heat is important to watch, but it doesn't tell the entire story, voltage is what really matters, you don't want it to go beyond a certain point.... Edit: Just a quick google search for your CPU, this thread may help you: https://www.overclock.net/forum/5-intel-cpus/1189242-sandy-bridge-e-overclocking-guide-walk-through-explanations-support-all-x79-overclockers.html
  20. Is this a small mom and pop kinda computer repair center or a big one like geek squad? I know when I worked there for a very short time there were some good techs... but a few of them really tried to charge customers as much as they could. There any google reviews for the repair shop you are using?
  21. For big missions ED does recommend 32 GB of RAM... but for your rebuild, yea, I would keep an eye out for a 1080ti, just don't pay too much. For right now a Z390 motherboard and a 8700k/9700k or a 9900k depending on how much you want to spend would be a good choice. Your CPU, while not bad, may be limiting you in DCS a bit since it is CPU intensive. With the 8/9th gen CPUs you can generally clock them pretty high depending on the silicon lotto, I got my 9700k to 5 GHZ with 1.37 vcore, but ended up turning it down a bit to 4.9 GHZ with 1.35 vcore since 1.35 is what gigabyte (motherboard manufacturer) says is safe, even though it's pretty widely accepted that 1.4 vcore would be safe. Sorry went off subject a bit there.
  22. "NATOPS Procedures". I assume they would know what they are talking about. :)
  23. That was an enjoyable read. :D
  24. You can edit ... I think .lua files? To load up pretty much anything you want. But as this is a simulation I do want them to keep things as realistic as possible. The only exception would be for some gameplay aspects that are because we are in a simulation on a computer vs real life... such as being able or not able to see targets visually..things like that.
  25. People/ED are going to need a LOT more information than what you provided to help you... track files (ED always asks for this). Computer specs (RAM, CPU, GPU, HDD or SSD, etc). Not sure what you mean by "1989" missions but maybe attaching the mission file would help as well so others can recreate this.
