Netafim military base - Landing not detected on Helipad
gulredrel replied to Maverick87Shaka's topic in Bugs and Problems
It's also impossible to spawn a helicopter with "ground start" on this location. Mission Editor always tells you it's uneven terrain. -

After changing me_route.lua and enabling ground starts, I re-created this field location. Dz "Yuzhnoye Nebo" visit Krasnodar Regards Jens -
Thanks for checking. In this lighting conditions even more red. So it's not on my end or graphics settings.

bump... 2 m/s wind in Kobuleti and stumbled across this. RW07 active, but no OM / IM working. After reading this post, increased windspeed to 4 m/s and markers are online. stable DCS/2.5.6.59625

Hello, DCS/2.5.6.59625 stable branch. The exhaust of KO-50 heater looks reddish brown. I think in older versions, the exhaust was more black or grey. The red looks a bit weird.

Spawning a Viggen on the ground next to an invisible FARP
gulredrel replied to Leviathan667's topic in DCS: AJS37 Viggen
With the Viggen, there is no option "take off from ground". I only can select this for helicopters or the AV-8B in mission editor. Loading the mission in mission editor "AJSkaukstrip.miz" and hit fly there, the plane will spawn in the air. The mission only works correct via instant action missions. -
winter update still on track? (yak-52 candlelit vigil)
gulredrel replied to twistking's topic in DCS: Yak-52
Okay, thanks, with the right switches on both audio and ADF panel even this works. -
winter update still on track? (yak-52 candlelit vigil)
gulredrel replied to twistking's topic in DCS: Yak-52
Navigation is working since around middle of 2020. It's not working in all aspects but the major one do. It's missing the audio morse code, but needles move. There's a bug in the near/far toggle key bind, but individual near / far bindings work as intended and the needle switches position accordingly. First make sure that control in gained in the front cockpit about the adf system. There are some more threads about it. Regards Jens -
Hello, I'm on stable DCS/2.5.6.59625. I noticed a huge difference between the normal and the backup altitude indicator. Is it normal and depending on speed, altitude and on the different pitot tubes used for the systems (nose pitot and the one on the vertical fin for backup system)? At ground they read almost the same, high up there were around 2000 m difference as can be seen in the screenshots below. At 1350m there were around 150m difference. Thanks for clarification Jens

Hello, I couldn'T find somethin in the search. The accelerometer in the Viggen has a knob to reset the max G indicator needle. I can't even see such an indicator which could be reset? Is it missing in the model? I'm on stable DCS/2.5.6.59625. Was flying pulled a 4 g turn and relaxed to 1.9 g, as can be seen in the pictures. There's only the current g load needle in the gauge. Thanks for clarification. Jens edit: title update, fixed in OB DCS 2.7.9.17830

Hello, DCS/2.5.6.59625 A-10CII steps to reproduce: 1. open ground arm switch cover 2. switch ground arm switch in forward position 3. close ground arm switch cover 4. open ground arm switch cover Result: Ground arm switch is still in forward position expected: For safety reason, the closing the cover should force the switch below into the rear position. Found this after a long flight, but will provide a trk file, if the description isn'T enough. Regards Jens

open beta and stable version: copy already downloaded updates
gulredrel replied to gulredrel's topic in General Tutorials
Thanks, will try and see. Just to be sure. The txt file only needs to contain the full install path without quotes or anything? So in my system this would be: E:\games\DCS_World_OpenBeta -
Hello, last year I built a new PC and put my SSD containing DSC open beta and DCS stable in there as a separate drive. Started both versions of the game and the saved games folders were created. I put the plane input profiles back, changed controller IDs and everything related. All great. I also did a repair calling the updater exe within the bin folder. Everything works as expected except of one thing. Updates applied to open beta do not transfer to stable, once the stable version get's the update. On the old PC I regularly updated open Beta and once stable update came out, the stable updater copied the relevant files from the open beta version. In the new PC, this doesn't work anymore. I guess it's because of the the registry keys missing? Or is the a config file, where I can point my stable installation to the open beta? I rarely use open beta cause I'm almost exlusively flying SP offline, so maybe I could delete it. Thanks Jens

Created a simple mission last time. No AI traffic, nothing for jester to report and do. I got joker and bingo callouts. And after resetting my bingo value, He called again according to the new value. So I guess, these callouts get lost, if he is busy with other things. Maybe this can be improved further on, so that he will call joker / bingo, after being finished with more important messages / tasks?

Boarding ladder / helmet switching on and off
gulredrel replied to gulredrel's topic in DCS: C-101 AvioJet
Thanks for the quick work, glad you could found the cause. -
Don't know, if it's helpful or you have enough data. I saved a track having that TIT spikes at around 30000ft while trying to push through M 1.1 in the F-14A. Was able to accelerate in a dive below 30000ft to M 1.2 and than climbing back up. There are two flights in the trk. The first one without the TIT spikes, cause I was low enough. The second one after refueling where I tried between 30000 ft and 35000 ft and had to throttle back fast out of the TIT spikes. Hope this helps. Regards Jens F-14A_TIT_spikes_M1.1.trk

Boarding ladder / helmet switching on and off
gulredrel replied to gulredrel's topic in DCS: C-101 AvioJet
Wind, yeah. that sounds reasonable. In one of the missions were there blinking never stops, I've 4 m/s wind set coming from the right, when the plane is parked. The track shows new Caucasus mission with 0 m/s wind and the blinking of the ladder stops as soon as the plane has settled fully on it's suspension after loading, I guess. It was new to me after updating stable version after Dec. 26th, I can't remember having seen this before. @Vibora: Hope this phenomenon can be fixed, as the ladder shouldn't be wind related in that stage. -
Hello, I'm on stable version DCS/2.5.6.59625. I noticed a strange behaviour with cold and dark status. The boarding ladder and helmet on the C-101EB were visible and than not, like blinking on and off. Don't know if the track shows this correct. After a bit, the state of the ladder seems to be consistent. Being there with power off, and being invisible with power on or canopy closed. What can cause this issue? I've an old training mission in Kobuleti, there wasn't a consistent state even after waiting a bit after mission loading. Thanks Jens 101EB_flickering_ladder.trk C-101EB_Navigation_Training_Caucasus.miz dcs.log

DCS/2.5.6.59625 Caucasus map Similar for me. Clean aircraft, only phoenix pylons in the tunnel. Was level at 36000ft, engaged slowly until zone 5 afterburner. Plane accelerated from 0.85 Mach to around 1.0 Mach. slowly going supersonic, left engine stall warning and than engine fire on both engines. edit: posted a track here, as there is more to this topic:

I'm now on stable release and the changelog mentioned the jester joker / bingo callouts. I flew in the A today, set bingo in the front cockpit to 9000 lbs. Never got the joker or bingo warning from Jester. @IronMike What's the logic behind the callouts? Doesn't Jester know my bingo setting? Is Jester doing it's own calculations depending on distance to home base? I was on a local flight just cruising around near the home base, so was always near enough. Thanks Jens

Hello, I did several flights with the F-18 using GBU 31 / 3 (the one with the penetration capability and delayed fuzing) I dropped them at hardened aircraft shelters at Mezzeh Airport Syria map from around 25000 ft. Direct hits, the shelters were destroyed, but the MiG-21 uncontrolled aircraft parking in there do not show any damage. Are the MiGs made of reinforced concrete? Is this a known phenomenon or how can I destroy the objects inside shelters? For a track replay, I need to recreate my mission, removing some ground equipment mod. Screenshot attached. Thanks Jens

[REPORTED]Spawning above the ground issue in 2.5.6 OB.
gulredrel replied to Art-J's topic in Bugs and Problems
Thanks and sorry I forgot about the target range object mod. But as -Dagger- wrote, just find an airport several 1000ft above sea level. Cold start from ramp, and there's nothing you can do with oxygen, cause it appears right after hitting fly from the loading screen.
