  1. What does the ALERT loadout look like?
  2. I like both. CASE I is pretty straight forward as long as I manage to account for the wind correctly on the downwind in order to not be way long in the groove. CASE III wasn‘t quite as much fun for me with the HUD symbology at first but now with the correctly sized needles it‘s a lot of fun. I have yet to try it with extremely low visibility though. Also, the needles won‘t appear as soon as you turn the ICLS on but rather when you get closer to the carrier to intercept the glidepath since the last update. That‘s a plus too.
  3. I think the luck/randomness factor plays a big role in these scenarios.
  4. Probably some sort of datalinked TGT cue in the HUD/JHMCS, similar to the waypoint designate symbol that we can display on the HUD for A/G, for example.
  5. On the other hand, the AI, taxiing behind you in broad daylight, shines directly into your cockpit and makes the whole cockpit look extremely washed out. In broad daylight.
  6. What exactly doesn‘t make sense?
  7. That‘s exactly what happens in real life in STT. Target stays in the 40-90% area of the tactical radar display. WIP indeed.
  8. Agreed. Makes the early access process a lot more enjoyable.
  9. Now that’s the spirit!
  10. As the title suggests, the HUD symbols are visible even after turning the RWR off. They disappear on the EW page but stay frozen on the HUD. Maybe this is intentional and the last updated position is supposed to stay visible on the HUD after everything is turned off without unchecking the HUD option on the EW page but to me it looks like a bug.
  11. Thank you bbrz and Nikola!
  12. I never heard the power power warning. How do you trigger it?
  13. That was a very insightful read, MoonyTail. Thank you!
  14. No, not at all. I really meant myself. I am just thinking there must be another reason - most likely WIP.
  15. This comparison clearly shows how far ahead the night lightning is in ED‘s internal test branches compared to the released game. The major differences are all those countless light dots for the roads and buildings and the illuminated sky at full moon. And I would rather not want to accuse ED of intentionally using false advertising, as this is is going to be implemented real soon now, to match the official screenshots on the webpage, won’t it? It‘s probably WIP.
  16. Thanks for sharing, appreciate it.
  17. I for one like that they implement things like the AMRAAM sooner rather than later. Their update cycle is quite quick in my opinion, having an unfinished symbology for two weeks is better than having nothing at all. I do hope, however, that the missing radar modes like LTWS, AZ/EL etc. will be included until Spring 2019. If not, however, it‘s no big deal. I‘m looking forward to every biweekly changelog.
  18. Something looks waaay off in those screenshots. I agree with Wilbur, try a lower gamma setting.
  19. They are aware that the HSI brightness control is bugged at the moment. I think it is a high priority item on their list.
  20. Your screenshot shows exactly what I meant. Almost nothing is visible at night time compared to the real world (I‘ve flown over Las Vegas at night before, as have many others of you) Doesn‘t depend on whether I set the time to 23:00 or 03:00, moon phase doesn‘t make a big difference either, because the city lights are so faint. No mods installed. Settings maxed at 1440p except MSAA at 4x and those lense effects, which I have turned off.. Preload set to 120.000. Gamma 1.9 which looks already quite bright on my calibrated monitor. Screenshot would be very similar to 33-DFTC‘s.
  21. Indeed. Standard real world procedure for the Hornet is to have the radar screen on the right DDI.
  22. Nice write up, thank you.
  23. It’s kind of weird at NTTR for me. I made a small intercept mission a few days ago at 00:30 and flew directly over Las Vegas. The city was almost impossible to see, the lightning was extremely faint.
  24. You’re correct. It’s just funny how LOUD it is, don’t you agree? In DCS you’d think that you are going at 100 miles an hour judging by the wind noise, not 30 miles an hour.
