  1. I guess it's work in progress. I got hit by an Sa-2 and had no visible battle damage nor any master cautions or system degrades at all. I only realized that I got hit after reviewing the mission in Tacview.
  2. Hi atazar, have you set the fuzing correctly?
  3. I‘m gonna have to go with March 20th on this one.
  4. Some of these show up because they simply aren‘t implemented yet, like MIDS, datalink and IFF. The HMD will get an ALIGN mode sometime in the future, I guess it will clear as well then.
  5. Nice! That‘s what engineering guy #1 was working on, DUD cue as well. Good stuff.
  6. Are you guys for real? Stop embaressing yourself, jesus. Some of you can be hilariously entitled and thin-skinned. You should be glad that a retired F-14 pilot spends ANY time on this forum to share some of his knowledge, he doesn't owe you guys anything at all. Imagine telling someone not to be an asshole just because he told you to read a manual instead of regurgitating every little fact and sentence himself. This forum has so far managed to chase off real world military jet pilots, I bet it can do it again.
  7. Makes sense. It's already fixed in Wag's build.
  8. I thought literally every user on this forum encountered this bug for the last month. Weird.
  9. Thank you for the notice, Cobra. Good to know to leave the helmet audio setting off for the F-14. (personally I only use it for the Hornet)
  10. The pilots wear helmets with ear protection and the ECS (or whatever it‘s called) was apparently very noisy already in the Tomcat cockpit so I doubt it. I personally think it‘s great that Heatblur is purposely making clicking sounds a lot louder than they are in real life as we don‘t get any haptic feedback, like you would get in a real cockpit. Maybe the DCS sound engine is limiting Heatblur and they had to make a compromise. Perhaps the loudness of the RIO switches can‘t be changed depending on the seat position?
  11. Heatblur have stated that they had purchased a F-14 soundpack which they have further enhanced. They will use it for everything except the in-cockpit sounds of switches and various levers, which they have recorded themselves in the cockpit of a museum Tomcat.
  12. Have we even heard the canopy sound yet?
  13. They probably won't release any new videos in January, it would damp down the hype.
  14. HARM with SP mode should come sometime this month, if all things go right. Could be this week but could just as likely be January 30th. I think it's way too early to expect any IFF changes.
  15. Wahnsinn. Freut mich für Virpil, dass die Produkte großen Anklang finden. Danke für die Information Gladius! Bin gespannt was die noch alles für uns bereitstellen in Zukunft.
  16. It‘s on the left console. You can‘t see it in any of these pictures.
  17. Gratulation! Und sie sind schon wieder out of stock?

    HARM

HARM, JDAM, JSOW display. TGT Data. Good stuff.
  19. Indeed. I am desperately waiting for the official startup video on Heatblurs channel though. I need it, please.
  20. I find it annoying even in simple single player missions to be honest. I find myself always having to use 140 azimuth.
  21. Indeed, which is why I wrote "for a short time". A very short time perhaps.
  22. It really depends on the circumstances, but yes, I reckon that a pilot can survive 21G for a short time (which the airframe cannot, at least not undamaged). To put it in perspective: Formula 1 driver Fernando Alonso survived a 305 km/h crash which peaked at 46G. He walked away with minor injuries. Indycar driver Kenny Bräck survived a 214G (!!) crash. That's the highest recorded g-force since the introduction of crash violence recording systems.
  23. if space is your main concern I would suggest the VKB pedals, they are very compact as pedals go. You won't have toe brakes, so you'd have to map a braking button on your HOTAS. However, the precision and feel is superb for the price and they will last for an eternity as the design is very simple and it's a quality product.
  24. Interesting. So, generally speaking, the rudder is used for basically evey turn?
  25. Also, my guess is that Heatblur want to release the first startup video themselves on their channel, where they have already uploaded the introductory episode.
