  1. Pretty much. Also, don't rearm while aligning. The sudden center of gravity shift threw off the alignment process, I think. I just changed my startup flow last night to: Start Aircraft> Align> Rearn. Aligned flawlessly. Also Rearm can be made before initiating alignment, ofc. Not touching the ruder controls also a must during alignment. I found that you need to re enter all coordinates again after off and GC align. Wait at least 10 second to go from off to GC align, re enter the coordinates, or align via stored heading.
  2. Perfectly put. XD Loving the SE so far with a few bumps along the way by the learning curve already ironed out. Delightful to have its capabilities. Big engines with a pre planned point in the earth to delete having just a massive radar as a flashlight in the dark. Just waiting for JDAMS, personally, for some SAM sites deletion. For now is a self escort bomb lasing machine with an immense payload and fuel tank. Excited for what's coming next for it!
  3. Well...thanks... But I don't refer to ECS sounds vs other sounds. I just refer to the ECS volume itself on the Strike Eagle. Is too loud. (Bleed on 'Both' and 'Auto' Setting). Yes, the other cockpit sounds on the Tomcat sounds gamefied and holywood stilized. It is not what I was pointing at. Note: If that volume level is really just like how it is irl, whatever. Let it be it. No further complain. It is a very good tip. Also there is a switch that lowers the ECS power around the bleed knob, further decreasing the volume.
  4. Castle switch long to display direction. I'd recommend 100% watching the tutorials on Razbam's youtube channel by Notso and reading the manual.
  5. It is hard to believe the crew would fly high stress deep strike missions with complex comms and all the jazz of a modern strike fighter with a loud hair dryer noise near their heads. It is something wrong with volume levels, not really what the noise is. All my modules, including F-18C, F-14 A&B, A-10CII, M-2000C (from the same devs) sounds perfect and in realistic manner not tied to aesthetics of "awesomeness". Something is odd with the strike eagle that makes me adjust volume levels, something I haven't touched since 2014 in a wide range of different headphones.
  6. There is a press and bump to a direction commands on the castle switch. But it is not like the Hornets TDC mechanics. That's exclusive for the hornet. Check Razbam's official youtube channel. Notso (SME) goes through almost everything on the tutorial videos.
  7. Servers overloaded. F-15E released. Authorizations shouldn't be tied to game versions. Everyone who updated the game is locked out of it without the 3 day long valid authorization for the last successful log in.
  8. Any plans to fix this issue? Every update, the 'mouse' folder is recreated with its .lua file inside that its only function is limiting possible keybinds to the mouse. I need some of those functions cleared to bind on mouse buttons and the only working solution is deleting the 'mouse' folder inside inputs for 'F-14B', 'F-14B-PILOT' and 'F-14B-RIO'. Other modules doesn't build that 'mouse' folder and everything is cleared to be bound to mouse buttons. It is a nuisance that serves no purpose.
  9. You'll be breaking the main gear before the nose wheel unless you're landing nose first, which would be obvious as an answer to why the NWS wouldn't work. Unlock your wings (unstow wing folding handle at any position) to keep high gain nose wheel steering if that's what you're after. If nose wheel steering doesn't appear on the HUD with weight on wheels after recovery, check your bindings. Perhaps you're hitting the NWS disable command instead. Hard to tell with scarce information.
  10. It is still as designed. TWS will always auto lock/designate the highest priority target. In the end, the auto lock/designation is handy. You will want it. You can cycle contacts with 'undesignate' button. If you just want to scan, just leave at RWS. I was very used to live with the bug where TWS wouldn't auto lock/designate and when they fixed it to the real life behavior, it was weird. But today, I would keep it 100%. Want to lock/designate something ahead? Cursor to its vicinity> TDC pressed> TWS and soft lock will happen without losing time of fine scrolling the cursor onto a target> Hard lock it with AACQ instantly if needed. If you have two contacts, the highest priority will soft lock while the second is scanned, cycle between both with 'undesignate'. If you want to soft lock/designate both it will relieve you the first TDC press onto the first bandit. It is better/more efficient this way. It is also accurate to the real thing.
  11. Cleanpit does pass IC. Keep in mind it won't modify anything on the displays and gets a bit dull without the wear from the default textures.
  12. Hi, I'm not OP but also have the same issue. Cockpit Displays at max setting (fonts are not affected by this setting), MSAA 2x or 4x won't make a difference. Anisotropic filter at 16x. The issue happens when you're zoomed out. The fonts on the displays starts getting fuzzy in comparison to the HUD. Which is very crispy regardless. I got used to this. I'm comfortable to an extent. There is a cockpit texture mod for the Hornet, called Clean Pit F/A-18C HORNET cleanpit (digitalcombatsimulator.com). I found interesting that, the fonts on this mod (outside the displays) are crispier than the default textures regardless of the zoom level without getting the fuzzy effect. I'm running at 1080p (I know the limitations) but I found interesting that it is possible to have a crispier text. Maybe on DDI are also possible. Two of my shots are from the default cockpit textures (textures that have wear bellow the HUD). One looking down the cockpit and the other is at sunset lighting. One is using cleanpit (textures without wear bellow the hud). Has the Hornet nose up with a lock onto a target. Just for comparison. On the Cleanpit mod, you can see the difference between the cockpit fonts and the DDI fonts.
  13. I understand. Try the autopilot to get the exact trim amount for the speed you're at. Just an ON and OFF action on it. To fly level without slight descent or climb I usually keep pressure on the stick without trying to find a hands off trim setting because that's how I used to fly the A-10C and the MiG-21. Fair skies.
  14. If you're getting into PIO while trimming the current F-14, something is very wrong on your end. Any chance you're expecting the Tomcat to act like FBW, 'hands off the stick' while level kind of comfort? Like the Warthog's CAS, hands always on the stick method is preferred, often with constant pressure for feedback. When on cruise, the auto pilot fixed attitude mode or level flight fills in the gaps if needed. I can't imagine getting into an oscillation with the trim as it is besides the flights when I just got the module and was figuring out the wing sweep dynamics. Go for a throttle setting first and let the plane settle at speed when in level flight before setting up a final trim because when the speed changes, the wings move. When the wings move the ideal trim changes and you have to set it up again.
  15. Flip the autopilot switch on to keep a fixed attitude and flipping back off will leave the trim at the current speed if manual trimming is that bad for your setup. I'm currently flying the F14 everyday with the trim on a hatswitch and not even once the trim was bothersome... and I use and abuse the engines throughout several speed regimes in the same sortie. Wing sweep at auto or bomb mode, doesn't make any change on trim comfort for me. I keep the hatswitch pressed for manual trim instead of several button presses. Maybe that's the source of your issue.
  16. Sinai release had nothing to do with imaginary dates being "supposedly" moved to another imaginary date. May the devs take their time and cook the F-15E right.
  17. Their severs are having issues and unable to log in players. If you get a log in error, your modules are disabled, unless you press 'cancel' or is in offline more beforehand. If you had a log in error, you'll need to wait until their servers are back up normal, unless there is another method...
  18. I just got the bad gateway 502 error as well. It is on their side. Suggestion to tune this aggressive DRM: Make so the token that lasts 3 days is useful as well as after getting the 502 bad gateway error. I just had a weekend without internet because of my local comms company but could use my modules up to 3 days if I clicked cancel on the log in tab. Of course, I could refresh the token using cellphone tethering to log in again and use DCS indefinitely by activate once again offline mode. The offline mode of course has its dangers with you have a hardware failure and your machine ID changes, but you could use the 'online' token up to 3 days without activating the offline mode. Having an error that's not on the client side and suddenly every module that you paid for being deactivated is quite a bad feeling to have... Once you get the 502 error, you can no longer use the saved token from the last successful log in attempt. I just finished a co-op sortie with a friend in the 'online' mode while the patch was being pushed out. Updated>502 error>paid licenses 'unauthorized'. Aggressive DRM is quite an understatement. "Multiplayer will not be available. The following DLCs are not authorized and will be disabled: Supercarrier A-10C II Tank Killer F-5E Tiger II F-86F Sabre PersianGulf F-14 M-2000C F/A-18C Ka-50 Black Shark 3 MiG-21bis MiG-29 Su-27 Su-33 UH-1H Huey Syria" EDIT: I found out the authorization data for 3 days is not compatible across different DCS versions. So if you updated DCS, you'll need at least 1 successful log in attempt to be able to have your modules authorized on the newer version.
  19. Are you playing in the unsupported 'game mode' by any chance? Options menu > Gameplay > Difficulties section Uncheck "Game Flight Mode".
  20. From flights today, I can confirm the lights are working on Single Threaded executable at noon in heavy weather. Might be a Multi Threaded thing as Zaius pointed out. Use Single Threaded as the MT gains were not worth against the bugs still present. off topic note: If you're flying the Hornet, also the A/G radar in GMT and SEA's map overlay is not bugged in Single Threaded as they overlay on top of bricks without the interleave function being on and on every sweep.
  21. Don't need to throw the jet downwards at near toutchdown. It is a matter of anticipating it and muscle memory. It was very unsettling when I needed to adjust when it was introduced but giving time and practice you'll get better at anticipating it. Two days ago I managed to get a landing that was almost like on rails with the burble on. If you want to practice gradually, I'd suggest making a scenario on Mission Editor with very weak winds or no winds and carrier at 15kts, then gradually increasing upwards of 27kts and higher value winds. There is a way and it takes time. Fair skies!
  22. It is actually the single dark pixel 'speck'/'spot' placed to aid spotting without relying on units geometry from far distances. This is what's bleeding through clouds. Units 3d geometry won't bypass cloud masking. (ALL LABELS TURNED OFF, this is not related to any label or enabled aid in options) This bug is also happening against atmosphere scattering at long, VERY long distances. Bellow are both being demonstrated. It is not only ground units but all units including aircraft. In the second picture, yes there are aircraft 19nm out, but the grouping that's flat in the blue circle is a SAM site very far away.
