What are my throttle options for a Cougar stick pairing?
Sokol1_br replied to CybrSlydr's topic in Thrustmaster
What is wrong with your TQS? If are not physically broken should not difficult to fix. If a very simple device inside - "brainless", easy to convert in standalone USB device with TUSBA adaper, or Rel4y kit: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=220916 Dual engine throttle options is Wart'hrottle and VirPil T50CM2, since VKB TECS promised at more than a year still a... promise. :D Single engine throttle are Thrustmaster TWCS and CH PRO Throttle, both slider type throttle. -
Luck in getting old Cougar Throttle to work.
Sokol1_br replied to Davee's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Rel4y - the second option in this topic, leave TQS as standalone USB controller, "pnp" for Windows (use HID drivers) and 14 bits contactless sensor (automotive GMR) TLE5011 in throttle axis. Is not required permanent physical modification inside TQS, just plug the new components. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=220916 -
VKB MK IV T-Rudder New Owners and Veterans Q&A
Sokol1_br replied to Weedwacker's topic in VKB-SIM Flight Gear
In IL-2 Sturmovik (Bo'X'?) virtual "toe brakes" is nativelly implemented, so is just matter of set a button or axis lever for "wheel brakes" and use together with rudder movements for achieve "differential brakes". For DCS if you use T-Rudder standalone need use the software T-Link for "differential brakes" emulation. Several post about how set there and in VKB forum. If use T-Rudder plugged in same "black box"controller of Gunfigher need load a profile - through VKB DevCFG software, that include the real axis (rudder) of T-Rudder and the two virtual axes for brakes creating a unique device for Windows/games. I think this is the most comprehensive topic about this last option: http://forum.vkb-sim.pro/viewtopic.php?f=27&t=3570 -
First real problem with VKB Gunfighter Mk.II
Sokol1_br replied to streakeagle's topic in VKB-SIM Flight Gear
Thing is this KG-12A grip was designed for Gladiator, a "entry-level" joystick, and details like push HAT and checkered surface will add (manufacturer) cost. What you want is that VKB - never produced, KG12A in metal, in what both top button is 8 way + push HAT. https://i.postimg.cc/bYgjxVJS/P1100739.jpg https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/15626-vkb-kg-12-grip/?do=findComment&comment=273352 And, like KG-12A of Gladiator is not a replica, but a game grip based on real grip, with concessions for better usability (e.g. HAT's, the "trigger" in pinky button), same principle applied in MCG grip - loosed based in Su-57 grip. -
Unveiling the VKB TECS Throttle Control System
Sokol1_br replied to UIV's topic in VKB-SIM Flight Gear
Await VKB TECS - 2020 is close. ;) If plans have not changed should have detents - MiG-29 style. -
For owners of Gladiator Mk.II the 'X' upgrade is now available, cost $100 (SCG) or 140 (SCG premium). https://vkbcontrollers.com/?product=gladiator-upgrade-kit-lite-w-mcg-bundle-2 Add to this the cost of Gladiator Mk.II and result is $ 185 - 225, not properly "budget" option like OP ask.
-
Curious is that some people in this forum buy Warthog grip only without "fuzzi-uzi", early of latter year or before for ~$120, recently someone say that price increase for $180 - probable shadowing F-18 AddOn grip price "success of sales" in Amazon. :)
-
"Easy and clean" way - without use external software: in DCS controls GUI assign the button (e.g. pinky) as "modifier". And for the command that you want modified, when assign press the "pinky" plus the other button.

Luck in getting old Cougar Throttle to work.
Sokol1_br replied to Davee's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
DCS (or other modern game) will recognize as individual controllers, since each has his own PID number in firmware. You will need install drivers for Windows recognize the Cougar joy (disabled)+throttle and calibrate. Just can't combine TQS and War'throttle in one virtual device because both surpass DX/Windows 8 axes limit, without exclude some axis - 2 if I count correctly. -

Logitech 3D PRO, Hotas X, T.16000M, Saitek X-52/PRO, X-56 has twist but with cheap potentiometer = worn out with use = spikes = "run, Forest, run". :) So: VKB Gladiator Mk.II (~$100) has twist with VKB MaRS contactless sensor. VKB SCG Kosmosima grip has embed twist with VKB MaRS contactless sensor. VPC (VirPIl) WarBRD grip has embed twist with VPC contacless sensor. VPC (VirPIl) Constellation grip has embed twist with VPC contacless sensor. Announced VPC (VirPil) V.F.X (F-14'ish) grip has embed twist with VPC contacless sensor. Announced VPC (VirPil) Alpha ("Alien") grip has embed twist with VPC contacless sensor.

Sokol1_br replied to GIGA_HORSE's topic in Home Cockpits
MMJoy2 is a firmware* for Arduinos based on ATMEGA43u4 (16 MHz, 5v) - e.g PRO Micro, Micro... AT90USB, Teensy 2.0, ++2.0. You just need flash this firmware using a USB cable and MMJoySetup software, a minute procedure. * With "pedigree", is developed (based on legendary Mjoy8/16 of 2004) by MegaMOZG, the guy actually behind VirPil electronics. -
New VPC MongoosT-50CM2 Throttle Announced
Sokol1_br replied to Matchstick's topic in VIRPIL Controls
"Analog Slew Stick" is not new feature, appear in T50 V3 throttle. I guess that VPC will offer extra panels - to be attached to deskmount, and could have extra axes, so they are not needed on throttle. And the price reduction leave their throttle more close to Warthog throttle and the probable price of VKC TECS (~$250). -

Looks more a "downgrade" than a "update", cost less ~40 Euros but lost a bunch of functions and axes. -
Real Simulator making a high-end F16C grip
Sokol1_br replied to Ranma13's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
In number of functions, so if you use you Warthog grip just for mimic the functions of real Warthog grip, extra functions are not much interesting. But if want that a button do dozen of different commands will be happy. -
Alternative: Bi-Tech 6127 Hall sensor - in pot format has models with 60, 90... degrees of "effective electric angle", so don't need gears. Bonus, don't suffer from worm out resistive trail like pot's, neither of backslash of gears. https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/tt-electronics-bi/6127V1A60L.5/987-1391-ND/2620660
