  1. You need one adapter for each Thrustmaster grip (A-10, F-18 ) you plan use in Gunfighter base. But (VirPil) V.F.X. no one know if will work. Anyway VKB are working in their own F-14 grip, to be released in... "two years, be sure". ;)
  2. Arduinos is not solution for Thrustsmaster because the used Hall sensor (Melexis MLX90333) require compatible firmware in USB controller. The option is buy another controller PCB from Thustmaster or new throttle.
  3. Mungo If you order that 3D Printed piece in Shapeways will don't need the treading die tool. Their resolution is sufficient good, see Debolestis examples.
  4. In Il2sturmovik.ru forum he talk in release a new version of MMjoy2 firmware - perhaps incorporating some developments he created for VirPil electronics, but no ETA was given.
  5. This is normal, when you change firmware your device became different for Windows, but their name MMJoy2 or whatever you use remains in Windows register, so Windows became lost. Just clear the entry "MMjoy" in Register, manually (Regedit) or try the button in JoySetup. Or change VID/PID (can use from 0000 to 9999) number when you change firmware but not name, or change device name. BTW - Although the archaic Games Controllers stop see the device, games see. About your issue with two buttons, I see something related in Il2sturmovik (Russian) forum, seems a bug, what guys do is ignore (don't use) this buttons.
  6. Try version v20160818upd, is considered "stable", the last 20161101 has some bug, not sure where.
  7. I too have no problem for use JoyToKey, RSMapper, SVMapper - all have "mapped key on press" and "mapped key on release" necessary for ON-OFF switch send command when change status for ON and for OFF. As posted above, is need start the keymapper "As administrator" or game ignore their keypress, due Windows UAC.
  8. 4x6x6mm tactile micro-switches, like this - but this linked is 4.5 mm high, so maybe need trim a bit. https://www.amazon.com/6x6x4-5mm-Momentary-Tactile-Button-Switch/dp/B008DS1GY0/ref=sr_1_fkmr1_2?keywords=tactile+micro-swiches+4x6x6mm&qid=1567869473&s=gateway&sr=8-2-fkmr1 OMRON brand have good quality (4.3 height): https://www.ebay.com/itm/100PCS-OMRON-0-98N-B3F-1000-6-6-4-3-Tactile-Switch-6x6x4-3mm-Original/291830135535?hash=item43f26e7aef:g:Jz8AAOSwZVlXmPbW
  9. Thrustmaster grips don't have individual VID/PID (VKB grips maybe), Warthog base controller is that have VID/PID, hence just set their numbers in ViPil base firmware for emulate a "Warthog base" and use what grip you want, even T50.
  10. Hall sensor like Honeywell SS495A1, Allegro A1324 LUAT... commonly used in DIY, or Bi-Tech 6127 that has advantage of come in potentiometer format, is wired in Arduino like a conventional potentiometer: Signal, Power and Gnd wires. So nothing special to do - just follow Hall datasheet, pins order is different than in potentiometer. IMHO, since TQS has few buttons: 10, shift register is overkill (will need 2 chips), is more easy put one diode 1N4147 in one pin of each button and HAT corner and wire in matrix (row x columns), but of course is perfectly OK use Shift Register.
  11. Looks like that will be possible create an profile with MCG, SCG (both non PRO*) and KG-12B, and select what use just by click. https://forum.il2sturmovik.ru/uploads/monthly_2019_09/image.png.c74824300769d33144a1f1e9d1dcd57b.png PRO need specific profile.
  12. Above palm rest - with 2 positions in SCG and fixed in Warthog no much difference, but the space for hand on grip (between trigger and palm rest) is smaller in SCG. SCG HAT's and buttons looks more accessible than in Warthog, don't need move hand up for press weapon release button.
  13. When I discover MMjoy ~2006 in (RIP) Sukhoi, I only know make weld reasonable, and that in electricity + and - can't be mixed. :) But venture in make a homemade PCB, with trails traced by free hand, and solder components, and the thing work, even after I mix + and - wires and make some smoke. Diode matrix scheme for MMjoy can be used in MMjoy2 - that is update of MMjoy code for cheap Arduinos, avoiding need assembly PCB like I did in 2006. But MMjoy Diode Matrix PCB is a bit complicated, using old HDD connectors, is more easy draw new layout. Weld a m/c support and 1 condenser and 8 resistor for Shift Register PCB is more easy that weld MMjoy Diode Matrix. Since MMjoy2 firmware support Shift Register CD4021 and 74HC165, after connect the five wires the only thing you need do is select the type used (CD or 74) in MMjoySetup and save. Very easy.
  14. Don't understand what is this "button-hat"? You mean the "cap" of original micro-stick? If yes, look if is possible enlarge their hole and glue in the new. Or take a metal file and tune the pole of the new until fit. You don't need circuit board, just identify the wires of the old micro-stick: X, Y axes, Power, Gnd and press button, remove this wires from old PCB and weld direct in ALP micro-stick pins. But if pins of the new match the old PCB can re-use, make more easy fit inside. BTW - You see Rel4y options for Cougar TQS, easy to adapt to F-16/F22 TQS. https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=220916
  15. You discard all internal PCB's and that #@$%& "eraserhead" thing. Keep the cable coming from grip to base. This device is a pressure mouse (like in some lapttop) working in serial protocol, unless you are code expert and create support for then in e.g. Arduino. OK, Now you have a empty plastic box with switches and potentiometer's installed, and need a new USB controller. Can use commercial products like BU0836, DSD-12... or DIY one with cheap Arduino PRO MICRO (ATMEGA32u4, 16 KHZ, 5v) and MMjoy2 "joystick" firmware. Tor replace "eraserhead" can use a 4/8 way HAT borrowed from old joystick or use a thumb-stick PS4 like, but you need a small one, see in the topic linked bellow. An "modernization" example: https://simhq.com/forum/ubbthreads.php/topics/4324042/f16-flcs-tqs-original-usb-conversion
  16. I think no, never see.
  17. Mungo13 Shift Register. First, you need make PCB, soldering m/c, diode, resistors and pins. Then connect this Shift Register PCB in Arduino/MMjoy2 through serial connection, using 5 wires. Each Shift Register chip control up to 8 buttons. You can put 8 pair of pins in PCB or 8 individual pins + 1 common, so connect buttons/switches/encoders there is "PnP". You can chain additional Shifter Register in first connected to MMjoy2, up to 128 buttons (16 chips). Look in Debolestis "Suncom restoration" topic there, are a comprehensive how to about Shift Register (CD4021) including links for order PCB in OSPark. In Arduino/MMjoy2 you can use CD4021 (same used in Thrustmaster F-16FLCS/F22RO, Cougar/Warthog/F-18 AddOn and VirPil grips) or 74HC165. Both are cheap and do the same thing, just PCB layout is different. In MMJoy2 files package are PCB for 74HC165. Diode Matrix work OK, but is PITA for diagnostic when something is connected wrong, because a fault connection affect all buttons after. And wiring looks a "cob web".
  18. Officially no, perhaps they are waiting USA re-seller gift then a F-18 grip for test. ;) But UIV post a picture sent by user who use this adapter for use F-18 AddOn grip in Gunfighter base. Since F-18 AddOn grip is made for emulate Warthog (using same electronics and having the functions) no reason for don't work.
  19. Catseye, If still needing, check vkbcontrollers.com, adapters now available.
  20. An option, take this B-8 grip drawing and modify their top part, allowing fit 2 of 3 HAT's, and place a HAT in left side - middle of grip, under thumb button.
  21. None of this in drawings in Thingiverse solve your need for "tons of buttons". The 1st is B-5 grip, trigger and 1 press button. The 3rd is B-8 grip with thumb-stick in place of HAT, plus trigger and 3 buttons. The thing is that even 3D Print is free for you, the HAT switches, buttons needed for complete the grip can end costing more than get a used F-16 Fighterstick in eBay and adapt in your cyclic. The most affordable know commercial "HAT switch" is APEM (CH) that cost $45 and only have one cap option, but you can 3D print different caps (see bellow). https://www.digikey.com/product-detail/en/apem-inc/500-526/679-2289-ND/2063280 You need 2 or 3 HAT's for have a grip with functions similar do CH F-16, Warthog, VPC grips (I don't list VKB grips because they are "Apple") = $ 135. You can 3D Print and assembly "HAT switch" a guy did a nice variation of caps: https://www.thingiverse.com/JumpNshootman/about But then you need a grip drawing optimized for fit this HAT's.
  22. New "S" extension? https://forum.il2sturmovik.ru/uploads/monthly_2019_09/RVI005.jpg.e03e690f325b5cc22b7e55148946d24d.jpg https://forum.il2sturmovik.ru/uploads/monthly_2019_09/60489A87-D420-48FA-83FD-7EA76CCF1C6E.jpeg.34fb237d1ea7696cec1b8073882af6e5.jpeg
  23. Is, but cost ~$35 more. ;)
  24. Mower, The name of control is "Radar elevation control":
