May be due to today's update. It is on open beta normally. Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk

Join discord server, link in the 1st post and get in touch with people there. I believe there is some issue with the original mission now which waits to be resolved and some simple one is running on the server. Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk

No fog for me either, this might depend on the room humidity, idk. The halo strap or the CV1 have no big difference in terms of comfort for me, I am slightly biased towards CV1 strap as I can use my headset even tho the halo strap adjustment is easier. But overall S is way better easily.

Looks like you have 15 maps to choose from :D I believe Caucasus and PG are both very good and offer a lot of possibilities for different scenarios. NTTR is also great map but it lacks sea for the carrier, it is smaller and more plausible only for red flag kind of operations or some helos in Vegas, has more limited usage so to say.

As Ranma13 said, any NAV TGT point selected will be displayed on the ABRIS, you can also share it via DL to other members of the flight. No way to share from abris to pvi aside manually typing coordinates.

One option is may be they can start selling re-done updated versions of the current moduls a.k.a BS2, now 3 and so on..like other games do. But many will cry as they want to buy something and get lifetime up to date updates and support for free, so It is up to us, customers what route ED will take.

The are a lots of stuff which DCS does better than the other f-16 only SIM in the video. And to say DCS is dead environment is veery exaggerated. But I absolutely agree that DCS needs more focus on core features, old modules updates and bug fixes rather than more new modules. But of course they need to pay the bills and make money so a balance needs to be found. Recently it feels a bit that they got too much greedy for the money, but I could easily be wrong of course.

I would stress out the following: 1. Weather 2. Night 3. A.I. 4.MP Dynamic Campaign 5. Multicrew 6. Unfinished modules 7. MP mission planner 8. Build in SRS

I believe what he means is that relative differences in performance between the different AC in DCS to remain similar in comparison to irl. I might be wrong tho

Even with random failures it's not much different. From my experience they rarely will fail something mid flight(like single instrument or something) and pre-flight test wont prevent that neither testing fire warning or cockpit lights will do anything it will always work, and fro MP only server admin can enable that I doubt it is enabled anywhere . Honestly if one light during the lights test doesn't work, whats the chance you will notice it anyway as the cockpit is like a christmas tree :) If random failures could make that at startup, some system might not work, some switch might be on the wrong side (simulating last pilot forgot it) and this is done in realistic manner, e.g. it doesn't happen always but there is 5-10% chance something like this to occur, then this might be worth doing the checks. Right now, random failures are more relevant to make you learn emergency procedures as they occur mid flight. I do the full check starts tho when I learn the module and sometimes when I just pracitce offline so to keep myself more familiar with the cockpit and systems, it also helps reacting to emergencies better and remember what and where everything is.. I always do my own pre-flight checks, which are more relevant to the sim, e.g. I check if all my hw controllers are synced with the cockpit and working properly, also always do simplified flight controls check to make sure my axises are all ok, since I have many USB controllers it happens to have some default axis or button assignment to mess up my controls.

TM Warthog 12cm extension - Roll axisl saturation to 65 to make it more responsive, too much travel otherwise.

No issue here, flew it this Sunday and hover worked fine. If your issue is with the control binding, do you have any modification in the control files ? Try run a repair.

Why are the most unrealistic servers the most popular?
metzger replied to Boris's topic in Multiplayer
While you can't expect so much realism in Public MP, as "realistic" mission would take vastly high amount of time for planning preparation and team work, not possible in public MP, I would expect people to focus more on objectives rather than personal score. I believe an option for server admin to disable personal score and add points to all members of a team who achieved the objectives would help. This can also be further improved by limiting resources for missiles, fuel etc. For example, you earn points by achieving mission objectives, with the points you can "buy" a few more amraams and so on(How Counter strike worked). Not sure if such would work well, but implemented properly, would help for a good balance between realism and possible in public. I'd imagine servers as BF or Cold War can benefit. More and better SAMs and Ground action is needed too. Now it doesn't seem that it poses too much challenge to clean up a whole base from the ground units. -
I didn't comment on any point specifically simply as I am not sure if they are discussed or not, just that such discussions are fine for EA module, this is the purpose of EA. If something is already discussed or answered elsewhere an answer such as "It was discussed in this thread "link"" would be better and more useful than just bashing other people. And before you say "use search function" it doesn't always provide accurate results. Also bringing a topic again not always hurts. And btw, a way to pre-configure the navigation system is so needed that it has to be asked every day :) Some modules has it, so why not to ask for f-16 too.

Believe me, many features in many games not just DCS, were introduced because enough people were "crying" about them in the forums. Which doesn't mean I support a constant complain and cry about stuff which was already reported and confirmed fix/no fix. But OP specifically mentioned stuff he is worried (may be "not sure" was more correct expression) will not be addressed in the early access, it doesn't necessary needs to be a bug so to be reported as a bug. A discussion if some feature is accurate or not, if something is correct or not will not harm, and EA is the most suitable time for such threads, when stuff can still be adjusted corrected. The OP doesn't look like whining or complaining at all, he brings some topics for discussion and consideration. There is also a difference between whining "oh it's not completed it sux" and "hey guys do you consider to adjust that as it doesn't look correct now because of this and that".
-
To all that say "don't report issues, it's early access" ---> Now is the right moment to "complain" and report issues so to be addressed during the early access. If people wait to report what they find after it is considered finished - it is too late. This is the main purpose of EA or betas, get feedback from the user base and polish/fix it.

May be because it's the only one that you know you can buy, receive it in no time, plug it and start using it without the need of Cluster of NASA computers to have smooth performance and not a slide show :)

Different people may have fun different ways and choose the game/sim which suits them, some enjoy smashing the mouse button and pretend they are ancient warriors saving the world. Since this is a forum for the most deep combat flight sim in the market, you have to expect most of the people who choose to use it, to be more serious and some not just pretend they are pilots but they actually are. Have you thought that may be those "pretentious snobbery of people" are the ones that put the effort and the cost to host and maintain MP servers and of course they will do it the way they like it ?

Currently, if you place a group of Personnel on the ground without any waypoints, they will remain like statues in the open. Would be great if you can give them a generic task such as "defend FARP Madrid" place them near FARP Madrid and they to act accordingly a.k.a move in to cover, re-locate based on where they got attacked from etc.. Move around the vicinity of the objective so to make your life harder. Above it is just an example but it is valid for all Ground units not just personnel.

As far as I know, Pilots didn't use auto mode cause it suck, it also suck in dcs, so I would say forget about it or you will end up in frustration. Just use the manual bomb release parameters and practice on the range to match them as close as possible. Find some parameters which would work decently in most cases and practice matching them, I find around 30-40 degrees dive works best. Surely sometimes you have to adjust, e.g. if you feel before release you are too shallow on the dive, you can release a bit later, in the opposite, if you feel you are slightly too steep, release a bit ealier, same goes for speed. In any case, it is not a precise delivery so don't expect you will ever have a constant direct hits on a single unit but withing 200-250 feet is acceptable accuracy.
