Chaff is reflecting radar emissions only if the tracking radar is actually fooled to illuminate the chaff else there is nothing to reflect. If the tracking radar is not fooled then the missile shouldn't be as well.

Yeah that's true. I also don't have many hours on the server(and the rest of the public servers) because of that reason. Normally I will join when I have someone with me and we will have some specific objective to try to achieve. I find Discord very useful for helping team work or at least to team up with someone or get known with other people flying the server. It is unfortunate that Alpen doesn't like it too much :)
-
Well, some team work is essential in air combat, so it is expected for a sim to require it. If you are the only MiG then this is enough of a problem that needs to be solved or it will get you in trouble inevitably. Agree that awacs currently is crap as all other AI in dcs, hope for improvements someday.
-
One thing I am trying to understand is, why Migs have to fly low on the first place ? Any objective can be achieved from a high altitude. Fly high as 2 or 3 packages - Strike, escort, cap. Strike can do high altitude high angle dive to deliver ordnance on target and climb out quickly. AAA and other AD should be placed around all objectives(by mission designed and/or placed by players in RW) to protect from low flying aircraft, so defensive CAP can stay high. Awacs might detect you but F-5 will have to climb up there to catch you and go out of his comfortable zone also your awacs will detect them. Going into contrail will make f-5 visible from longer range.

L-39ZA is a light attack aircraft. Saw real combat in some middle east conflicts. It fits perfect in DCS both as a light attack and a combat trainer. For guys like you there will be MAC where you will have your dreamed airquake :) Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk

Hornet has a FBW system and G limiter, one would not learn very good to operate with the stick. Hornet is trimming automatically so one will not learn much about trimming Hornet doesn't have ILS Hornet allows very hard landings with no flare, which will not be a good habit in other planes Hornet has a precisely computed release and impact points, one would not learn to drop bombs/guns based on parameters, which is a valuable skill Hornet is very powerful, one would not learn energy management so good Going from Hornet to any other older generation plane will make one to have to pretty much re-learn everything. May be you guys prefer to not have it updated at all and eventually loose it with time instead of paying for an update to make it on par with the new modules ? I would glad to pay Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk

L-39 is the better module, FM feels very good. But it has russian avionics, while c-101 being partially northorp aircraft its cockpit reminds to F-5 and other western aircraft Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk

One can utilize a trainer in many ways if one wish so. Sure, one don't necessarily need to. Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk

It can also drop bombs and rockets and guns. Same way some early cold war frames does. Can be used as light attack aircraft as well. Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk

+1. You can definitely benefit from L-39 to train with and it is really fun to fly, we do DCS for fun, don't we ? It is funny how so many airquake "dogfighters" out there can't navigate without f10 map icons and can't do a proper traffic pattern :) Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk

We need lighting fixed rather adjusting it while flying :) Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk

When design and technology is similar, then it is proportional more or less. F-22 has stelth technology so it is not comparable while both r-27 or harm missiles are not, so size matters. And F-22 will be detected just from shorter distance.
-
Irrelevant comparison F-22 is stealth fighter. He has a point, I doubt 80s R-27 missile has any stealth technology or any logic to have less RCS in comparison to the HARM.

Nope. There is just an year since DS came, I hardly believe this Vulcan thing will come soon. There were big hopes for DS and it delivered only issues so far with very little eye candy benefit. Hopefully vulcan will be better when it comes.
-
Sure they are. I haven't seen anywhere any statement from them, which makes me believe we wont see lights fixed any time soon...
-
It's correct. I don't want to specify specific lights here, they are reported separately all around the forums. I would say that in general, all lights illumination except the sunlight is one big workaround, lights not illuminating, not casting shadows, going trough the cockpits, not visible from distance and so on.. The point is those are reported on different threads multiple times and they have been ignored from ED there is no single word, now there are so many threads about light issues that it is already hard to track them.
-
Lighting in DCS is...lets be nice by saying not good.. NineLine I don't think you need a track to see lighting needs a complete overhaul. As OP says, lights doesn't reflect at all. Objects illuminated by light sources are actually glowing textures which in most cases is annoyingly obvious. Many light issues has been reported around the forums with no word from ED at all. Imho rendering and specifically lights and shadows are the weakest point in DCS and hopefully we will see a major improvement in the near future. Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk

I don't agree completely. While you have a point, and I understand it, from another perspective, you can see that the devs are more active before and during the module is in active sale and shortly after. Once the majority of people paid for it and they already took the money, it goes with less priority and we start waiting for fixes for ages. So if we, as customers, require the modules to be fully finished before we purchase, that will make them push more to fix the module and complete it so they can get the rewarding for the job. See what happened with M2K from Razbam, there are still features missing which are in the training missions(I wont list them, check m2k forums), majority of people bough it during beta, yes enjoyed it earlier, but now how we may end up in never fully finished module even tho it is out of beta. So my point is, if we don't get the module fully completed and bug free until the majority of people pay for it, we might never see it and the bug frustration starts and may lasts forever. Just my 2 cents.

If the real one doesn't have the capability to compensate the wind, then it has been fixed not broken. Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk

I feel it is fair to pay for BS3 and would gladly do it. No company can support and keep up to date 10 year old software, especially game, for no additional cost. Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk

I voted yes but the correct answer is it depends. Pay for what ? Development of what ? We pay for the modules and the maps. They don't offer anything else or do they ? If they have a online platform similar to iracing but for aircombat I would pay monthly if I like it, in fact I do donate monthly to my favorite server already. If they release fully upgraded modules similar to BS1 then BS2 let say for BS3, I would pay for that yes but it should be properly done, like real overhaul of the module, the same way you pay for a new fifa every year which is actually not new but upgraded old one.

So anyone can go and see them ? Can you please send me a PM where it is if this is the case, I would love to go there :) Thanks.
-
I hope it is not as it really ruins helicopter experience in many cases, approaches to land, hiding targets and villages, sense of size, speed and height is all ruined. Especially in VR. I would prefer less trees but with correct size.
-
Those are the tallest trees in France: 22.20 m Le domaine du Windeck, Ottrott Sisley 2012 20.40 m Jardin Botanique, Strasbourg Wim Brinkerink 2014 17.80 m Place of St Pierre church, quartier Carlitos, Pau They likely haven't been in Normandy as based on DCS, all trees there are 30 meters. And no, there are no 60 meters trees in Caucasus. EDIT: In fact they do exist in caucasus, but more like a record and not all over the place and every single forest.
