  1. - Give AI wingman order for directions and ordnance like we can in A-10C - for example "Attack my target -> with bomb -> from the south" - Generally "Attack my target" for ground targets currently also does not do anything.
  2. It will be nice to be able to uninstall some of the maps to save disk space. I only use 2-3 maps but now I am not able to upgrade my server due lack of disk space. So far every big update was a nightmare to upgrade, had to delete the map folders or make a new install, but now even this does not work. And I only use 2-3 maps, the rest are just a waste of space. The system requirements says 100GB space, I have 120 which is not enough at all and since I am renting the server it is painful to get more space. Thanks.
  3. I like the in depth simulation of the many combat aircraft and the possibility of learn and experience them in VR. I hate everything else. AI (in all aspects, ATC, wingmen, opfor, ground units and so on) which is broken at every aspect making single player experience close to impossible or at least not on par with the aircraft simulation. Extremely outdated UI and (lack of)features. Static weather which remains the same throughout the mission Graphic engine, especially in terms to lightning, shadows and optimization. I am willing to pay even more for the modules(not some 3rd party) but use them in a different environment as DCS one just suck. Anything you try to do, create a mission be it SP or MP you have to constantly workaround bugs and issues which are hitting you on every step you take.
  4. Noticed that today as well. Viper AI will go vertical till it reach the moon to boom and zoom you. It is certainly new behavior.
  5. I just did a few BFM sets with F-5 against Hornet on rookie, and he was actually smarter than I thought he will be, and certainly smarter then he used to be. Constantly trying to keep the fight at two circle, even when I reverse he will counter and go for the two circle. no infinite loops either. Not bad at all. Have to test more but this looked somewhat promising
  6. Tested it and it doesn't quite work reliably. Sometimes he will stuck and do nothing, sometimes attack from random point, sometimes he will go in on top of the target and brake off without shooting. I am giving up on trying anything with the AI.
  7. Following your logic, Caucasus map is acceptable as Vietnam so you have it
  8. Not sure I understand what do you mean So If I want to DL him a target and use a DL point as an ingress point for AI to engage, how I do so ?
  9. I don't even know how and what to report here because everytime I repeat the same thing, AI do something different and always weird and funny I send him the DL point and command him to go to --> datalink point He replies roger and goes to completely different place. -> this repeats every time you send him a DL and send him to it initially Then I send him exactly the same datalink point 2nd time and this time he goes there and starts what it seems like a big orbit, basically pointless, additionally climbs very high so already useless manuever. I send him the same DL point 3rd time and command him go there, then he finally went there and hover but at 150meters AGL sitting duck. In one occasion during testing, while he was trying to hove at DL point high above ground, he dropped like a rock and crashed, unfortunately didn't capture this in the track. Track attached. 10. Korea 1952 map would be awesome even with the current modules we have. Vietnam 68 we have not a single module from that war so no point of this map at the moment. I agree with some of the points here tho. Like, PG map is very good, but why make it 2020 looks ? It's cool to fly it MSFS style and enjoy the fancy buildings of Dubai but not really even close for proper late 90s war environment. Why not make it look less "modern" and with more war atmosphere. Syria somewhat similar to PG even tho it's a bit better as syria cities aren't as fancy as Dubai even nowadays. I still think Caucasus is the best DCS map as it does not have that peace time fancy towns and airbases feeling. It works for any 90s-2000s scenarios. And 2nd to that is NTTR which is good to pretend some trainings and red flags. They could add some more bases and not rely on 476th to make it really a range but still. Desert Storm 91 would be amazing too, but sadly we don't have a single FF module to support this scenario aside F-14A. Afghanistan late 90s early 2000s is what would shine in DCS but sadly we don't have it I personally would enjoy a lot more 80s, early 90s variants of the "modern" modules, more interesting and challenging than droping JDAMs from 50k and Amraams from 30 miles. Also a bit more simple to properly reproduce scenarios. But sadly some part of the community just want as more modern as possible for whatever reason that is.
  11. 1. When told to recce XXkm/miles let him hover at the new location and engage from there if told to do so instead of rejoining. This way you can do bounding overwhatch with AI. 2. When instructed to "hold postition" let him hover and not orbit. Or ideally have a new option to clarify if he should hover or orbit. 3. When instruted to go to Datalink position, again have him hover or ideally have an option to further clarify. But better hover than orbit For all points, when wingmen is commanded to "cover me" while on any of the above locations, let him hover and cover you from there unless instructed to rejoin. 4. Make AI able to commit hover fire
  12. Seems like mi-24 wingmen commands are not send unless the radio menu is opened. It recognizes the command nothing happens, then press the ingame bind radio menu for the correct radio and you can see on the top left text the command actually being send then.
  13. The issue still there after today patch. AI can't connect to tanker while tanker is in turn.
  14. Well, you can't compare your hall sensor extended joystick with the Force sensing Viper stick and FLCS designed for it. According to docs, the Viper requires about 16nM force for full stick deflection which you probably can't even do with two hands without the G help. It might also explain to some degree why irl pilots are so heavy on pulling the stick EDIT: I'm using the real simulator FSSB3 lightning force sensing base with set to approx 8Nm force and Viper controls feels perfectly fine without any curves.
  15. It's quite the same for the Viper. I think it happens when the tanker is turning, once he rolls out, AI will connect and refuel.
  16. May be he is blind as bat without sensors and just as smart. He is armed with 4 MK-84, no TGP. He has Search than engage in zone and orbit so he will just overfly the target area. I give him hold position command, then fly over and mark the targets with "visual reckon mode" , tell him engage primary, he says "enagaing targets" and I can see in DL redline that he is engaging the correct targets but instead he just fly north away from the targets for about 20 miles. Gave him "rejoin command" wait him to get close and tried "engage ground targets" Again, could see the red line and he calls engaging and flew away... After a third try and attempt with marking another targets, he started saying "unable" "negative" and the usual crap. Track you can download from: https://u.pcloud.link/publink/show?code=XZHh0OXZasMwtT6oWPmRj2xgzkFRPJQ7KMy0 However, track doesn't seem to be correct as when I replay it, WM just stays in formation the whole time. Could be due to cammands are passed via VAICOM. I don't know. In general, I did other tests with him and without sensors, he is completely incapable of attacking anything, even tho if you don't disable "radio usage on contact" he will flood and stuck in "contact target bla bla". I am trying to find a scenario where the AI will actually work at least partially for ground attack with unguided munitions and no sensors, but I am unable to make it so far. It's just a big pile of sh.... bugs.
  17. Track A2G_BMP - Simple mission flight of two F-16 with 4*MK84 -> Advanced waypoint action -> Perform task -> attack group , while the group is a bunch of BMP2s The flight starts to fly in random circles around the map in full burner before #2 RTB, then #1 go drop a bomb on the target and RTB. Same behavior if I change the BMPs with BTR80s Track A2G1 -> Absolutely the same mission but instead of BMPs, The target group is MBT T72. The AI flight behaves correctly and attack the group with mulitple passes then continues the flight plan. Same with T55s. Tried with "react to tread" on no reaction with no difference in behavior. Not sure if related only to F-16 but tried with different unguided bombs with the same result. A2G_BMP.trk A2G1.trk
  18. Just made SP A2A refuel with 4-ship F-16 me as 1. -> issue still there 2 and 3 went for the tanker simultaneously, 2 hit the tanker rudder and established on top of it while 3 was refueling, when 3 finished, two hit the tanker again while going precontact and then refueled. Luckilly tanker could fly without rudder, and f-16 DM was forgiving enough for 2 not to have major damage. Also while tanker is turning, they still don't refuel always but just hover 20cm from the boom, so it took about 30 minutes for all 3 to refuel. Unfortunately, I clicked directly "quit to desktop" and did not save the track EDIT: I can confirm that 2-ship AI now refuel without hitting the tanker, so there is something fixed at least. I will replay the above scenario again and save the track later. EDIT: Track attached, AI hits the tanker As a side note, they do change formation a lot better now, not perfect but accetable. Still lights burner from time to time and still terrible in turns, but at least it is some progress in terms of formation flying. AAR1.trk
  19. As title says, Mission and Track attached. Refuel starts at about 31 minutes racetrack, with stop condition for the race track at 30th minute. EDIT: Refuel starts at about 45th minute, and WM actually collides with the tanker. May be same as AAR.trk AI_refuel_test.miz
  20. Hello, Is it possible to generate FARPs dynamically based on the Frontline, so you can spawn helicopters closer to FLOT ?
  21. +1, may be 30% performance lost with 2.7. All BS like repairs, drivers, fxo folder, delete saved games and so on have been tested with no difference. As stated by @Cabri, it's not the clouds. Probably the new reflections or shadows or lightning but I wish they made those with on/off function.
  22. I believe the issue is the way mouse is implemented in DCS VR, it's basically a 2D plane which defines mouse area and that 2d plane aparently moves with your head and the mouse cursor. And this plane is very limited in size and somehow related to the monitor resolution and aspect. It not only brings the problem of mouse moving with your head but also limits the mouse usable area and making it much smaller than the actual FOV of the headset(in some cases depends on the monitor). @Ducksen this option did not prevent mouse from moving with your head, just makes possible to move the mouse cursor away from the center of the 2D plane defining the mouse area, but the cursor still moves when you move your head e.g. if you want to click a button you can place the cursor over it but avoid moving your head otherwise the cursor will move away from that button. It's okis if you need to click a single button but try to type coordinates or frequency for example and it get's annoying as f*ck.
