  1. May be they had a few bottles of Vodka last night, don't be too harsh with them :P
  2. +10000 No, copy your inputs is not a solution because if they are on the outside of the turn, they will get sucked behind. There are many changes that AI needs to be able to fly proper formation: 1. When they rejoin, they should learn to use geometry and go lead pursuit when possible, now they only follow you in pure so whatever you do, they end up in trail and use burner(when available) to catch you. In addition they seem to have problems with that too, as they look more draggy or lack of power as they still struggle to catch you even if you fly very slow so it takes them forever and a lot of fuel. Try Sabre for example, it's terrible. And this basically happens after every small change of heading or formation change. 2. They need to learn TAC turns to keep the formation during turns. Otherwise 1. repeats every time you make a turn and they are not in close formation. 3. They need to learn to use altitude to gain speed and catch you to avoid 1. Additionally there seem to be a problem with their energy when they are your WM. 4. They need to learn proper techniques of changing formation e.g. slide under, go 5-10 digrees offset to open/close formation and so on. Otherwise 1. repeats after every formation change. 5. They need to learn the OHB for RTB. Right now landing with AI is a hassle and huge immersion brake, especially 4-ship. I will stop here, as this is only for BASIC flying skills. Will not touch the combat and tactical part as my comment will become a novel.
  3. AI is terrible as WM or as Enemy. I am not sure how SP even works now and how people can enjoy it. Every time I give it a try it ends up in frustration because of AI even in a basic flight. And this is sad because there are so many SP campaigns which otherwise would be amazing :(
  4. Ми-24 would be really nice addition to the server. KA-50 feels a bit too modern even tho completely defenseless. Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk
  5. Not quite sure why you involve irl here at all when we are speaking only about dcs so take it easy. Speaking about dcs, we already met multiple times in the server and from what I see, if Alpenwolf introduce some sort of limited lives, you ain't be flying very long before run out of lives :D Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk
  6. So you are from the guys that when the dark comes,.just quits ? - Cowards! Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk
  7. Yeah right.... 90% of the players can't fly on instruments and never tried an instrument approach and many doesn't even know what that is. Let aside doing more complex task like shooting or dropping a bomb. It will be the same with weather even when/if implemented better. I remember similar discussion on assetto corsa forums, people cried for rain and weather. Then finally they implemented it in ACC and no body used it. Abd one of the devs said it in a discussion something like that, "everyone was screaming for weather and rain in the forums, now we made it and put a lot o effort to make it good now the.moment it starts raining, server become empty". 8. They can release as many public versions as they want and call them as they want, beta gamma whatever. I just hardly believe a software company in more competitive market would survive with the QA level of ED.
  9. It is not exactly how it should work actually. In beta you add/remove features modify them add them again, polish, tweak, then what feels ready is moved for candidate release tested line by line and then pushed to public release or so called stable. It's not that you have 2 public versions you push a few updates to one of them if game starts to majority of the people and there are no bugs preventing the game to start, if it crashes to less than XX% of the people and only 10-15 new bugs are introduced, then push it to the other public version too and call it stable :)
  10. There should be no 2 open versions of the sim imho. It's not needed, ED just have to stop rushing to release and do more polishing and testing and all should be fine. In case broken upgrade got pushed somehow, just downgrade to previous patch. Face it, no one will stay in stable when it is months behind with the updates and it is still cluttered with bugs more or less the same as OB. Just focus more on fixing stuff, testing and polishing, if this is not done then even open alpha beta gama delta etc.. wont make much difference.
  11. Yeah it is a paradox isn't it ? I don't need anymore new modules before they fix everything released and address bugs and issues in older modules and core game. SP at the moment is close to useless with that borked AI and majority of the missions broken. But how to support and motivate this ? I bought almost all campaigns but I cant really use them. I own almost all modules and I have the feeling that buying more simply motivates them to rush more and making the problem bigger. So I stopped buying after the Viper and likely will not buy anything new in the near future, unless released finished and working state.
  12. The point is, in OB when a broken patch is released, it is 3 seconds time to type "dcs updater.exe update 2.5.6.xxxx" and you are good to go in any release you want. Basically it is the same if you will be in OB or Stable. In 132nd we basically never update immediately but wait a few days to see if the update is good or not and then update.
  13. Iracing cost 800 a year just to be able to run the software. Cars and tracks are paid additionally, and if you don't pay the subscription you don't even get to use the cars and tracks you additionally paid for. And yet, it is quite successful as a business model considering how long they exist and the size of their player base. Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk
  14. They probably do partially, but most of them refuse to think. Between any form of subscription model and finished and polished product with up to date graphics and features of all modules vs the current no system with bugs and some features untouched since lomac - I'd choose the subscription. The situation will only get worst with the current approach once the release even more unfinished stuff splitting the resources even more. Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk
  15. The point here is, most people don't want to commit to pay while they use the content, but they expect ED to get some money once and commit to maintain support and keep up to date forever. I also hate subscriptions but +1 for ED implementing it in some form ONLY if this will mean better and polished overall product with resolved, maintained and timely updated content with equal quality.
  16. Ofc it is on ED! ED has releasing unfinished barely tested content to OB months before it goes to Stable and years before it can get finished. We all can guess what the reason for doing it. Then they end up with a bunch of main features/modules which are massively used by the customers and in desperate need of fixes, then they release even more of this. Now every one wants his already payed content finished and done asap. ED doesn't have resources to support and finish everything in time, so we end up in situation where they have to push not polished stuff to beta and push most of it to stable as well, otherwise stable would be lagging even more. Instead, ED can release to beta finished and polished product keep in there to check for any unexpected bugs and move to stable in a week or so. This ofc means release less content but with better quality for the overall product.
  17. Customers using OB for many reasons and I would not blame them: 1. All big MP servers are on OB basically beta testing DCS MP 2. "Stable" isn't really that stable, it is just OB a few patches before, and there are bugs older than me. Stable is also cramped with bugs and it will take even longer for them to get fixed in "Stable". Half of the SP missions and campaigns for example doesn't work on "stable" too, how is that stable ? 3. It is the same if you run Stable or have OB and when a shit patches like those are released just run update 2.5.6.xxxx and downgrade a few patches. 4. Lately the EA thing got more and more frequent and more and more Early. People want the content they paid $$ finished asap. If Modules are released in more finished state and stable was really more polished and stable then probably people would have stayed in stable. In fact, most of the Players and MP servers started to move to OB with the early access release of the Hornet and most of the big populated servers moved there so to use it. EDIT: OB normally is for content which is considered almost ready for release and it requires mass testing from public to discover a corner cases bugs which beta testers could have missed. In case of DCS this is not the case, even stable is more beta than what used to be a beta branch.
  18. Yeah same, this is what I meant by saying mp missions :) Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk
  19. I think it would be great if training missions were actually campaigns simulating IRL pilot training simplified ofc. Where you always start cold from the ground, go through AB operations and reach a range or moa airspace. This with good PDF describing the training goals for each mission with references to the respective pages in the manual for preparation and good and well prepared briefing and kneeboards. Let say similar to Maple flag campaigns.
  20. +1 on this issue, very annoying. Disable hiding on-screen text works, however pressing pause then hit briefing and fly only works for SP missions. MP with slots you don't get the screen to select a slot.
  21. This is far from true. There is soo much to do with it. AB operations, flying aerobics and tactical formations, AAR, BFM, ACM, BVR. Proper unguided A2G delivery is complex and hard to master, only this can keep you occupied for a long time. It is missing maveriks, jsow, harm and tgp is far from finished. But there is a tons of stuff to master before you reach harms and maveriks delivery. Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk
  22. Alpenwolf, Thanks for the answer. Correct, I did not want to blame anyone specifically. Just to point that after viggen has dropped the ordnance it's better not to kill him or he is back on the ships for 11 mins, red can't rtb and rearm for that time. Thanks and keep up the good work. Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk
  23. Hi Alpenwolf, In mission Sail ahoy yesterday blue have won. However there is a flaw,. Viggens were going on waves of kamikadze runs, basically fly there shot the ships and whether they get shot down or just quit and then get a new slot and repeat, if they don't fly back to base for reload they come back faster for another run. Introducing some form of lives or other way to prevent that would help a lot to make the mission more fair and immersive.
  24. Wasn't it the announcement of the Eurofighter ? Sent from my Redmi 4 using Tapatalk
  25. There is no modern in DCS, the most "modern" is late 90s early 2000 at most.
