low priority Main Landing Gear Retraction Speed
randomTOTEN replied to FightsOn's topic in Wish List
I think you might have missed exactly what this thread is about. It's not about the gear's operating limits (VLO/VLE) but about it's animation.... how the gear looks as it retracts or extends. This is a detail that would be completely transparent to you from inside the cockpit during a normal takeoff (I guess unless you're closely watching your wing man during such a critical phase of flight...formation takeoff?). -

Details like these add character. Yes, they are "nice to have," but you could say the same thing about cockpit textures and canopy tint. -
[CANNOT REPRODUCE, INCLUDE A TRACK] No Electrical Power
randomTOTEN replied to Bob1943's topic in Bugs and Problems
What stick/throttle are you using? Have the Main Power switch bound to anything? -
That's not what I'm reading in online NATO documents (ATP-56B), and that's not what's depicted in the DCS A-10's Flight Manual. They all describe a "Quick Flow" procedures at a Right-to-Left deal. Where are you getting this information? And probably more importantly, what Branch and what Aircraft? Looks like you can either join on the wing, or lead can proceed directly to pre-contact. Seems a whole lot of text describing the process, I bet it's different based on conditions/ what is briefed. Seems a lot of planning can go into this procedure.

Like others have said, my latest technique is to join up the on the right wing of the tanker. I fence out when I get within the vicinity of the tanker, and the forming up the wing helps with controlling overshoots IMO. Once in a stable observation position, I quickly go heads down to configure for refueling (bring up fuel page, door/probe etc.). Once I'm "fully ready" I clear behind and transition to pre-contact... get my call and go for it. I repeat the process in reverse on the left wing before departing/fence in. Would be interesting to get some RL tips on this, but that seems to be what's working for me.

It's not supposed to be wind corrected. -

This is very very basic flying theory. IRL you would not progress beyond a piston propeller aircraft without understanding this concept. No fault on your end, you had no instructor to notice this and show you what was happening. In the civilian world this is a mandatory topic before your first solo flight. -

You haven't mentioned it either. -
Fly the training mission "High Drag Bombing" look at page 147 of the Early Access Guide (English version used for page reference).

It's important to look at the title of the communication menu. It shows where the means of message transmission. Is this all in the Coiled Viper mission? I'll try it.

Yeah I don't see any delay either, but it does appear to be a change in retraction rate... but that could be an optical illusion.. I have no knowledge on the subject. -

Don't know the block number here, but this looks like the same behavior during flight. -

Turn off the snow. EDIT: Disregard, I didn't see what map this was. -
That's cool. I've never used that function before. This is also covered in the Digital Stores Management System (DSMS) lesson for the A-10C... good lesson to review too.

try the greyed out options, they should still work.

I want automatic combat, you lock up bad guy and pull the trigger and he explodes....oh wait.

Good thing to learn Air to Air Refueling. You play simulator, right?:pilotfly:

That was a great video. I come from the civilian side, so I'll give some of those references too... civilian pilots screw this up too. From a freeware developer of which I am quite fond:

I personally find the majority of users manage their zoom/FOV terribly.. they shrink things like tanks while shoving way too many pixels into their monitor space. It's a persistent problem especially with youtubers. Flying airplanes is a certain set of skills.. operating a flight simulator and correctly configuring it's visual systems (even for the humble entertainment desktop version) is another... as you've surely understood in your ventures to FSI, PanAm, or CAE.

That leak was spot on. Personally, I was hopeful for a Viper throttle, but I figured we would see an announcement and a prototype like we did with the Hornet Grip. Kept my expectations as low as possible, and as such am pleasantly surprised by the throttle quadrant. Optional Airbus Detents, realistic Airbus engine controls...looks like working A/T Disc buttons and the reverser levers are buttons too? I can see some possibilities with this in civilian sims. Could be a good option for a cheap precise TQ for some.

I'm sorry, you're absolutely correct.. the answer was Vmo, not Vne. My bad....some of that dreaded GA leaked through there.
