  1. IIRC the Forrestall wouldn't be free. You would have to have the Tomcat in order to unlock it's features. I'm sure you could place it in missions without owning the F-14 but I'm equally sure you wouldn't be able to land on it or launch from it otherwise. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
  2. Do you have a screenshot? Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
  3. Most pictures I've seen of Tomcats taking off in burner were -A models. Due to the low TTW ratio of the TF-30s stage 3 burners were required to safely get off the deck. The F110's though had something like 30,000lbs of thrust in full burner individually so 60k pounds of thrust between the two. Here are screenshots from the -D NATOPS and from Google. The -B and -D had the same engines and so the same rules apply. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
  4. IIRC, if you're blacking out because your in burner on launch, that may be a feature, not a bug. IIRC, IRL the -B never used burners on launch because the engines produced so much thrust it would over speed the shuttle in burner and cause damage to the mechanism. I never use burners on cat launches and have never blacked out on launch. Could be correlation and not causation but no burners is the IRL procedure to my knowledge. 5. If both of your initial Phoenixes haven't gone pitbull yet, that might be why Jester isn't locking them up. Doing so would cause the two missiles in the air to go stupid. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
  6. For the sake of argument, Voice Attack is an option here that eliminates the need to interact with your keyboard for the radio menu. It's not perfect or bug free, but it's there as an option. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
  7. This right here. Think of the F-14 as a warbird with 60,000lbs of thrust at full AB. If you throw the stick around, especially at high speeds, you'll break her or she'll break you, or both. It takes finesse to fly her well but once you get that down she'll outfly a Charlie and make a Viper sweat hard. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
  8. IIRC there are no proximity fuzes currently modeled for any missile in DCS. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
  9. Not sure for the Phoenix but the 120 never used to jink like that even when homing on chaff. Did ED make the 120 more sensitive to chaff with their recent update to the missile's guidance? Edited for spelling Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
  10. I've been noticing this behavior in the AIM-120C too, just last night as a matter of fact. I think it might be a DCS issue. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
  11. It was in the weekly need letter this morning. ED is making a Marianna's Island map to be the second free to play map for DCS. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
  12. Did you purchase the F-14 or were you only flying it through the free weekend? Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
  13. I think Mover posted a video to YouTube where he fired an Aim-9 IRL and I don't remember it being as loud as it is in the F-14 but that being said, I don't mind it. It's kind of satisfying that *pechew* as the Sidewinder foxes. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
  14. Maybe that'll be one of the fixes to come with the super carrier module? Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
  15. I went from an X-55 to a WH and have never looked back. For me, it was the best purchase I made outside of VR and the 10cm extension for the WH stick. If you have the money I 100% recommend. It's not without it's flaws, like the TDC slew, but it's still worth it to me. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
  16. What were you trying to do exactly? I bought the F/A-18 as a gift for a friend just a couple days before Christmas without any problems. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
  17. There wouldn't be, and that's the point. From a gaming/simming perspective, COPPA will kill YT as a viable platform unless there are copious amounts of vulgarity in the video that clearly mark it as NSFC (not safe for children). The "Up to $42,000.00 US per video" is pretty terrifying too. Enough so to make me consider pulling down the 5 or so videos that I have uploaded currently since I'd rather be safe than bankrupt/imprisoned. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
  18. Thanks for the quick response Naquaii. Will these be functional when the Super carrier module goes live, or when the HB Forestall is released? Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
  19. I too am curious. That would be amazing if so, though I think I remember something about those buttons not being fully implemented a while ago? Could have changed since though. I'm a stick operating meat puppet up front so I:m ignorant of such things. Haha Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
  20. Do you have a physical AB detent on your throttle? Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
  21. Are we going to get the ability to transmit a "Go Active" signal? Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
  22. Hmm... You can probably create the axis control in the LUA file, but someone who's better versed in LUA would have to chime in on that. I can create buttons and switches but that's where my knowledge stops unfortunately. Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
  23. Does your extra throttle have a detent button at the top or bottom like the Saitek Throttle Quadrant? Sent from my Pixel 3 XL using Tapatalk
