  1. Well if you are considering to buy BS2 you best make up your mind quickly as today is the last day of the sale. It's on a hefty discount, costing only $19,99 right now. The biggest differences are most likely the graphics (cockpit shadows, missile trails etc). The Helicopter wingman AI was also massively updated compared to the original black shark. Naturally you can take advantages of the other advantages in DCS world, these include: - Much larger terrain to fly through compared to the original BS1 game. - Much larger selection of AI assets available - Much more capable mission editor with many new functions There are also Ka-50 campaigns that are not available in BS1. I believe "Medvedev-2" is a new campaign. The old campaign "Georgian oil war" was massively updated compared to black shark 1. If you so wish, you can buy the "republic" campaign only for BS2. If you have or intend to purchase the Nevada Test and Training Range or any of the other new upcoming maps, you can fly your Ka-50 there if you have BS2. One of the biggest issues I had with BS1 was the fact that it only had a russian pit with a russian voiced betty. I do not know if that is an issue for you or if there are any mods available.
  2. I hate to be the one to say this, but BS1 does not work with DCS: World. If you wish to fly the Ka-50 in DCS: World, you must buy BS2.
  3. Participant: Sryan Nominated Wingman: CaptEdster I already pre-ordered the viggen though :) Can I trade it in for a copy of the tomcat? otherwise I'd like to give that away as well.
  4. 1) Yes, on the caucasus map atleast. The AI will even shoot you through the trees. You cannot even collide with the trees. I know that on Nevada atleast a section of the trees can be collided with. I don't know if the ai can see you through the trees there. 2) not afaik. 3) Yes this helps. This is why it is better to attack from near the side of the hill than going over the crest.
  5. January 2nd
  6. Correct Well there's no real way for it to tell if it's in RWS or in TWS. All it knows it's only being scanned, and not being hard-locked.
  7. In STT while guiding a missile the radar checks your position approximatly 30.000 times per second and sends the data to the AMRAAM through a datalink. This extreme activity is detected by your RWR and identifies the behaviour as an attempt to guide a missile in flight. In TWS the radar checks your position once per cycle to see if it matches the position it predicted you would be in. It sends the data to the AMRAAM. This behaviour does not give the fact away a missile is being guided. It's possible to spoof TWS by being impredictable in flight, causing the track to drop in some cases. Should you manage to do this the AMRAAM will remember the last spot it was supposed to go pitbull and will go pitbull there anyway.
  8. Early-acces here means generally the same as what it means on STEAM. It's just the beta phase of the product. Everybody can buy the viggen at any time and play it, but they won't get any pre-order discounts if they purchase after the 27th. There is no period where acces to the Viggen is locked to a specific group of people or buyers. Early-acces ends when LNS deems the product of a quality high enough to consider it as 'released status'.
  9. IIRC, you can cancel the P2P download, this way you'll download directly from the DCS servers and you won't be uploading for anyone else.
  10. The DCS website holiday sale will most likely start today. Although this is merely my own speculation
  11. Just go to the modulemanager in the standalone game. You should be prompted to download your brand-new Huey! have fun with it.
  12. Maybe we'll get lucky and it'll be on sale on the webstore tomorrow :)
  13. No, you can't load the High Stakes campaign into the steam version manually or anything like that. You have only two choices in this regard. - wait for the DLC to be released on steam - Migrate over to the standalone. You can download the standalone version from the website. You can simply use the activation codes from any content you bought on steam and use them in the standalone. You can then buy the High Stakes campaign and play it. You can always go back to steam with the products you bought there. But you will not be able to activate any products you buy on the website here on steam.
  14. Did you bind it to the slew left/right and slew up/down axis commands?
  15. I know a rule of thumb for various aircraft is Mach 0.6 for maximum endurance (longest time spent in the air) and mach 0.8 for maximum distance traveled for a given amount of fuel.
  16. Hey Dadunn, it's most likely got something to do with this: https://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=179130
